2010 Harvest Wrap-Up- One for the Books
| | Free Run Zinfandel from the Borkow Vineyard (future Old School and/or Dry Creek Zin) |
As we've written in our previous newsletters, 2010 has been a very challenging growing season. After considerable anxiety whether we were going to be able to harvest much fruit at all, we were blessed with the ideal warm days and cooler nights that ripen grapes slowly but thoroughly.
While quantity was down, quality is excellent, with the wines at this stage showing ripe fruit flavors paired with balanced acidity and tannins. We purchased fruit from a few established vineyards that were new to us, and have plenty of different lots to blend down the road to create some truly remarkable wines. We also harvested the second crop from the newly replanted vines on our Bradford Mountain Estate Vineyard that show great promise.
The wines are currently going through their secondary, malo-lactic fermentations in barrel, and are developing slowly. Look forward to them sometime after 2013... In the meantime, if you'd like to schedule a barrel tasting, please give us a call or send us an email to set something up! |

Our Tasting Room "To Go" is a sampler of 50 ml bottles of six of our favorites. Filled using clean room technology and an oxygen-free environment, these adorable little bottles taste the same as a 750 ml bottle, allowing you to try before you buy.
These wines come with a "Best Enjoyed By" date, and we encourage you to taste them shortly after receiving them. The Tasting Room "To Go" is a great way to share Peterson wines with friends, have a tasting party and compare notes, or just enjoy them on your own. It also gives you a chance to taste, and order, some of our wines that sell out quickly.
These kits also make an excellent holiday gift!
