This year's election stakes: $4.8 billion for land and water
On November 2, we have an opportunity to create $4.8 billion to protect land and water for generations to come.
We need your help. This year we are facing the biggest opposition to conservation ballot measures we have ever seen -- the economy.
The Conservation Campaign is working with 300 coalition partners around the country to pass 10 ballot initiatives, including statewide measures in Iowa, Oregon and Maine.
To make sure voters hear our message, we must raise $3 million and we are nearly there. Your contribution will help us reach 6.5 million voters with $1 million in TV advertising, 5 million pieces of direct mail and 10 field staff organizing grassroots and media campaigns.
Your online donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar and be put to work right away on critical campaigns. Please contribute today! |
A rocky political landscape For the past two decades, Americans of every political belief and in all parts of the country have been voting to dedicate public funding for protecting watersheds, farmland, wildlife habitat and open space. But this year, there is a real danger that our message will get lost amid angry anti-government rhetoric.
With your contribution now, campaigns can educate more voters about the importance of public conservation funding, target key voters and get supporters to the polls. |
