Adventure...

"About that time, there occurred no small disturbance regarding the Way." Acts 19:23

The book of Acts is full of adventure, risk, danger and power. When the Gospel of Jesus is unleashed in any area or realm of life, controversy is sure to follow.

Throughout the book of Acts, we find times of tremendous peace, astounding growth and intense persecution. The stories of adventure are fed by a strong bold engagement of the gospel with culture.

Many of my friends are experiencing this adventure on several levels. There are some who are starting bold conversations and seeing opposition while others are seeing a good amount of receptivity. Some are experiencing a season of frustration as they cultivate the soil of souls and cast seed (the Word of God) over the ground but the results of their labor are not yet identified. I am so proud of the passion, effort and focus of most everyone in our community of organic churches.

If your current adventure consists of cultivating and sowing without much growth or any sight of harvest, don't give up and keep your eyes fixated on the prize, Jesus Christ. He is our source of strength, encouragement and purpose. For those who see the harvest and are beginning to bring in a harvest, enjoy this time and tell the stories of Christ's greatness.

God is on the move in amazing ways. Do not limit His ways to move to old paradigms, patterns or expectations. Look for Him to do a 'new thing' in your midst because He loves you and the people He has connected you to. Look for the adventures in life that God is inviting you to and join Him, be amazed, be dependent upon Him and be filled with The Holy Spirit.

No small disturbance is coming because of Jesus working through you and us!

Blessings,
Ed Waken

Journeys To SignificanceThe second is an audio of Neil Cole's workshop on "Journeys To Significance." It follows Paul's example to see how he increased his significance and impact by doing less himself and empowering others to do more. Learn how entire regions, nations and ultimately the world were changed because Paul learned to equip others to do the work. Learn practical ways to pass the baton to others so that you can multiply your influence.
