Congratulations to IBPA Member and Board Member Cevin Bryerman of (Publishers Weekly) who has just been named Publisher of the magazine!

(Parenting Press) reports that one of its children's book authors, Eileen Kennedy-Moore, continues to get quoted in national and regional magazines because she follows up with writers who post queries on HARO - helpareporter.com, a three times daily electronic newsletter. An April story in Parenting quoting psychologist Kennedy-Moore on play dates is the latest publicity for the author of What About Me? 12 Ways to Get Your Parents' Attention (Without Hitting Your Sister). The Press is also announcing that the California Department of Education has approved its new Así me siento yo for classroom use. This is the Spanish edition of The Way I Feel by Janan Cain, which has more than 1.4 million copies in print.

Tony Burton (Wolfmont Press) tells us that two of the five short-story Agatha nominees for 2009 came from his 2009 Toys for Tots anthology, THE GIFT OF MURDER.

Three (Judson Press) titles have recently enjoyed national recognition: Raising Boys to Be Like Jesus was awarded a Gold in the Mom's Choice Awards 2010 - general parenting books category, Mothering Heights: A Novel Approach for Christian Mothers was awarded a Silver in the Mom's Choice Awards 2010 - Inspirational category and nuChristian: Finding Faith in a New Generation was recognized by Outreach magazine as one of its top 25 resources of the year.

Bill Raney of (Nickelodeon Press) is having a good month! After receiving a dynamite quote from Greg Mortenson, co-author of the #1 NY Times Best Seller Three Cups of Tea and having shipped 120 of his title Letters to Zerky to Borders, he then received a notice from Borders to replenish their stock with another 600 hardcover copies. Way to go, Bill!

Joe Dungan's title L.A. Nuts (Trinco Publishing) won first place in Writer's Digest 17th Annual Self-Published Book Awards, humor category. The book will be listed in the Mar/Apr issue of Writer's Digest.

Frank Gromling of (Ocean Publishing) reports that his weekly talk radio show "Cover to Cover" will celebrate its 40th anniversary on March 13th. Frank adds, with tongue firmly in cheek, that it will be the show's 40th week on the air. The show looks at all aspects of books and book publishing, with celebrated guests from across the country.

Deborah L. Jacobs's new book, Estate Planning Smarts (www.estateplanningsmarts.com) was reviewed in "The Best," a regular feature of The Wall Street Journal's Encore report. The Journal called the book "a terrific guide for people who are just beginning to grapple with estate planning, as well as those who have (or think they have) their affairs in order."
