Greetings!

Welcome to the first issue of "Independent Publishing Now" celebrating YOU, our members! 

Every two weeks, we'll bring you current news of IBPA members' achievements and we're counting on you to let us know about your accomplishments and events.

Each issue will include free resources that will help you run your publishing company better and smarter and keep you up-to-date on what's happening in the industry and your association.

IBPA Member Highlights & Happenings

Natalie Tinti's book Sewing a Friendship (tintinatie) was awarded a Silver Medal hosted by the Readers Favorite Book Reviews and Award Contest.

Parenting Press staff is waiting to see the movie version of Diary of a Wimpy Kid (www.parentingpress.com). One of its books, Kids to the Rescue! First Aid Techniques for Kids, by Maribeth and Darwin Boelts, was purchased for use as a prop in the movie.

Pamela Waterman, publisher at The Discovery Box in Mesa, AZ, reports that The Braces Cookbook: Recipes You (and Your Orthodontist) Will Love (www.BracesCookbook.com) has just gone into its sixth printing, bringing the total number of copies in print to over 11,000. She says, "Our sales were down last Fall as a reflection of the economy, but since parents (and adults) still make orthodontic work a priority, our books are here to help and sales are up again.

Dear Baby Books (dearbabybooks.com) has had some great visibility recently for a board book that was released nationally last summer.  Dear Baby, What I love about you was named as a featured gift pick on WorkingMother.com and was spotted on the TV reality show Keeping up with the Kardashians.
