Girls Night Out!
This past Friday, the girls at the Group Home went to see Taylor Swift at the American Airlines Center AND had a "Meet & Greet" with opening act, Gloriana. To say the girls were ecstatic would be an understatement. "When I told them they were going, they nearly wet their pants," shares Cynthia Cervantes, our Program Director. For our girls, this may be considered one chance in a lifetime. We are especially thankful to Steve Nornhold and his foundation, Hear the Music Live, for their incredible generosity. Steve and volunteer Paige Embry went out of their way, buying extra tickets at the last minute when two more girls were accepted into our program. They wanted to ensure that every girl had her chance to attend and none would miss out. Thank you Steve and Paige! The girls had an unbelievable night! |

Help College-Bound Girl Visit School!
One of the girls at our Group Home needs your help in deciding where she'll attend college next fall. Kelli would like to attend a prospective student weekend event at a college in Missouri. However, we need help with airfare for her and a chaperone, plus a hotel for the chaperone. (The chaperone is one of the Group Home's Milieu Therapist, and she has volunteered to travel with Kelli.) Kelli is in a unique
situation - she came to us homeless. And because she is not in foster
care, she is not entitled to free state college tuition. The sooner
she can find a school, the sooner Kelli can apply - hopefully receive -
the most financial aid.
The event is October 14-16, Friday through Sunday. Flight times are critical because Kelli's and her chaperone's arrival/departure times must coordinate with the college's shuttle. The college is an hour south of Kansas City. Now we need your help.If you can help in any way - airmiles, monetarily, etc. - please call or email Rebecca Rhule, as soon as possible so arrangements can be made for the trip. 214.520.6268
