Asian Lunar New Year Celebration~ January 20, 2010

CLE~January 28, 2010
Many thanks to AABA's CLE Committee- especially Nancy Sasamoto and Lisa Yee- for putting together a fantastic CLE on e-Discovery.  A very special thanks to Deloitte and Gary Zhao of Smith Amundsen for detailed presentations to an enthusiastic audience.  Cocktails and hors d'oevres were generously provided by Deloitte.

AABA/CASL/CVLS Chinatown Pro Bono Clinic Training Session ~ February 17, 2010
Thank you to close to 60 volunteers (attorneys and law students) that attended the CVLS training session hosted by Quarles & Brady. We were pleased to have such an overwhelming response, and we are looking forward to opening our new Chinatown Legal Clinic next month!

April 27 ~ Vanguard Awards Luncheon. AABA is proud to honor NAPABA Law Foundation President and AABA Honoary Board Member Michael P. Chu at this year's Luncheon.  We encourage members to attend to support Mike and AABA! Please contact AABA at [email protected] if you are interested in attending this event. 


May 6 ~ In-House Counsel/Partners Dinner at Flatwater Grill.

AABA's 2010-2011 Nominating Committee  invites you to become a more active and involved member of our bar association.

The Nominating Committee ("Committee") will be accepting nominations for consideration by the Committee starting March 1, 2010 through April 30, 2010.  Self-nominations are encouraged!!!! At their option, candidates may also submit a one-page candidate statement by April 30, 2010. Candidate statements will be mailed with the official ballots, once approved by the Nominating Committee. Ballots will be sent to AABA members in late May, 2010.  Ballots must be returned no later than 5:00 pm, June 14, 2010.

A "Meet the Candidates" event will be held in May 2010. Details to follow.

The following positions are open for election:

SECOND VICE PRESIDENT (1 year term as 2nd VP, followed by a 1 year term as 1st Vice President, followed by a 1 year term as President)
TREASURER (2 year term)
SECRETARY ((2 year term)
BOARD MEMBER (2 year term, 3 positions available)
