Trunk Show this Sat, Nov 21st
Callie Seymour in attendance
Uptown Park 11am-5pm
Precious Metal Jewelry
Callie sculpts each piece of her jewelry by hand in her Texas studio. She uses exclusively PMC (precious metal clay) to create her pieces because she feels it gives the right texture and motion to her organic forms.
Precious metal clay is a revolutionary new material to the art scene that combines microscopic pieces of silver with an organic binder that gives the silver a clay-like consistency. The "clay" is formed and then fired in a kiln at a high temperature where the silver particles become soft and fuse together. The binder burns away completely leaving pieces that are 99.9% pure silver (also called Fine Silver). It does not tarnish as quickly as sterling since it has no copper in it. It is cleaned by using a toothbrush and baking soda. It never needs a polishing cloth.
Callie then grinds each piece with stone to give it a shimmering matte finish that is distinctive to her work. Earrings start at $58, necklaces at $110. We are very proud to introduce this new artist's work to Houston and hope you can drop in to meet her and see the one-of-a-kind pieces she has made just for this, her first, trunk show. Click here to see just a few of her dramatic pieces. Come in the see many more in the selection. Her jewelry collection available at both locations Nov 21st-Dec 31st.
Callie says, "It is amazing to be able to create work that I love, and I feel truly honored that it is appreciated by others as well!"

Afro Celotto Murano Glass Show
opens Nov 28th and runs through Dec 31st
We are pleased to be able to open an exhibition of Afro Celotto's current work on Saturday, November 28th from noon to 7pm at the Uptown Park location only. This will be the last showing of Afro's work in Houston. Because of the world economy, Afro was forced to close his studio in September of this year. The show will continue through the end of the year.
For over a thousand years the Master Glassblowers of Murano have taught their sons the art of creating beautiful glass. Afro Celotto is a part of this glass blowing family.
Our appreciation of his pieces is enhanced by understanding the skills needed to create each unique work of art. Afro's pieces require technical innovation and expertise as well as imagination and color artistry. Afro has completely mastered the most sophisticated glass blowing techniques. His pieces are new and energetic and his color palette challenges exising boundaries.
He started working with glass when he was only 14 years old. Even though he is considered a "youngster" is the world of glass, he is recognized by collectors for his technical ability and artistic expression. The pieces in the show will be able to be seen on our internet site home page starting Nov 28th.

S. D. Cooper florals
This husband and wife design team keep growing and changing in their jewelry approach which is a true sign of a good artist. Nutcracker Market successful
The Chairman of the Nutcracker Market this year, Patsy Chapman, reports that the attendance for this year was 84,000 people and that was a 10,000 person increase over last year. The popular holiday kickoff shopping event raised over two million dollars for the Houston Ballet School and Guild.
We were happy to have been a part of furthering their cause, and report our efforts were a resounding success.

What's New
Geoffrey Beetum glass
Geoffrey's work is always a gallery knockout! His sculptures make a big impression whether they are for a gift or for your own home or office. We have sold many of his pieces for retirement gifts and awards. The airtrap swirl sphere shown is on its own dichroic glass stand and swirls beautiful colors with just a touch of the finger. His giant world marble is displayed on a crystal hand for maximum impact.
Holiday fun jewelry
Several of our favorite artists are offering holiday jewelry for your enjoyment. Jill Elizabeth, Catherine Zurchin, and Billie Tannen can all be found in our stocks.
Gallery favorite is the Christmas tree jewelry by Billie Beads. They are made of polymer clay and Swarovsky crystals and sport a millefiori on the back showing the year and the artist signature. They come in pin/pendant styles starting at $65 and earrings at $75. Billie has been on the Martha Stewart Show creating her work. Other Christmas jewelry starts at $38.
Allan Menashy does holiday
This work is fast developing its own following. The artist's designs for the holiday include Noah's Ark, Snowbirds, and this wonderful Snowman. Prices start at $38.
Click here to view a few of our current pieces. Of course, available in both locations.

Jeweled nail files
Our top stocking stuffer!
In an era of cheap knockoffs, everyone appreciates quality and uniqueness. These dichroic
glass nail files are original pieces of functional art created in the Pacific Northwest.
Our artist found and imported the plain glass file from a small family-owned glass factory in the Czech Republic. They are sand-blasted out of high quality tempered glass for life-long use.
The originator of these beauties brought the "naked" glass files back to her jewelry making studio where her staff designs and makes the permanent embellishments out of dichroic glass beads. The designer added the decorative "jewel" so her mother's arthritic fingers could easily remove the file from its protective sleeve.
Files are available in three sizes: for the handbag, for home or office, and for pedicures. They are great for diabetic care since they will not tear the nail or the skin and can be cleaned with alcohol or soap and water. They're even great for Fido's nails. We have special holiday gift bags for them. Prices from $16 unless you buy 3 or more, and then they start at $15.
