New artist work |
 |
Lampwork glass artist Joshua Mazet is new to the gallery with his icecube beauties and small paperweights.
Copper leaves are the signature look for new artist partners
Jennifer Budde and Eric Weiller. These handsome coasters can come as a set of four or with there own decorative stand.
Jim Flood is not a new artist to the gallery, but what's new is
his metal wallart sunburst
in a smaller size. We have the large one (42" wide) and the smaller one (30 wide) both in stock right now. They each have a cast bronze center and layers of copper spokes creating a
3-D effect.

I'm one! |
 |
Hi! I'm the Hanson Galleries' grandkid. I just had a busy first year travelling 61,000 air miles with my mommy and daddy. I also had a big surprise when I saw a plane glide into the Hudson River right outside my daycare window. I already have eight teeth and am walking...sort of. I'll keep you posted as to my second year progress.

Crystalline ceramic show opens July 12th
Growing Crystals |
Cool show for the hot, hot summer |
Group showing includes six artists
Hanson Galleries customers have bought crystalline pieces since we started showing it 15 years ago. When we tried to analyze why, we concluded that it appeals to a wide range of tastes. Glass lovers think that it's surface reminds them of blown glass. People who like ceramics truly understand that it is one of the most difficult of pottery techniques to produce. Those with conservative tastes like the traditional forms and pleasing colors. Other customers simply appreciate its beauty and buy the pieces as gifts or for themselves. We are told that there are fewer than two hundred artists in the world that know how to coax the crystals out of the glaze. Because of the nature of crystal growth, each piece is truly one-of-a-kind. This close up detail shows crystal formations on the surface of one of Jon Price's unusually colored vases.
Another reason that our customers keep buying crystalline is its ability to look great with any decor. From antiques to traditional to very modern, crystalline displays itself handsomely.
We are also offering a book and a CD by Jon Price on glazing techniques and pointers on how to make this difficult and fastenating artform. It is a "go-to" manual for artists, but would make a nice addition to a gift of crystalline pottery showing the recipient just how lovingly it was made.
Come in and see and touch this wonderful collection we are offering.
