Marquetry inlay boxes arrive just in time for Mother's Day
There are not many artists currently working in this traditional artform, but Roger Bulkley's work has found a new home at Hanson Galleries. He works in exotic woods keeping entirely to their natural colors. The art of marquetry dates back hundreds of years and has found new life in Roger's work. As in history, he draws inspirations from nature.
Also just received is a new collection of Gary White's quilt top boxes. He uses contemporary and traditional quilt patterns making them great gifts for the quilter. New this year are marquetry boxes with ancient labyrinth designs.

A play on color...
fresh enamel jewelry

Show opens May 1st just in time for Mom's and grads gifts.
A gallery favorite for many years, Ricky Frank is a leading cloisonne artist in the US. Ricky blends the ancient process of cloisonne enameling with silver, gold, and gemstones, to create tiny colorful, jewel-like paintings. He bends thin wires of silver and gold which become lines in these miniature enamel paintings. Next, finely ground glass powders are painted in and fired to 1450 degrees. After up to 15 firings, the enamel piece is then placed in a hand-made setting. Now you can see why his pieces are truly heirlooms of tomorrow. Click here to view his full body of work available at Hanson Galleries.
New to the gallery is enamelist Sheila Beatty. Her designs are very organic and feminine. Below is a falttering sample of her enamel pieces.
of her work.
