  • DHS Expands STEM OPT Extension to 24 months  (3/16/2016)
  • Effective May 10, 2016, STEM OPT extensions will be available to certain F-1 students for 24 months instead of 17 months, but the new provision adds employer and student obligations to the program.

  • FY2017 H-1B Cap Season is Here!  (2/3/2016)
  • Employers can file cap-subject H-1B petitions for FY2017, with a requested start date of October 1, 2016, beginning April 1, 2016, and should plan for petitions to be received by USCIS no later than April 7.

  • Revised Visa Bulletin Procedures  (9/9/2015)
  • USCIS and the Department of State have added a second chart to the monthly Visa Bulletin which indicates when permanent resident applicants may be eligible to file I-485 applications (prior to their priority dates coming "current" and eligible for adjudication).

  • Beginning May 26, H-4 spouses of certain H-1B workers will be eligible to apply for work authorization.
