Greetings!
The first six weeks of a new school year are the "Make It or Break It" weeks in terms of teacher relationships and perceptions, and we have prepared a webinar workshop to help parents help their children make the summer-to-school transition. See details below.
Last week I told you how Legos and learning about Mavericks in history like Leonardo Da Vinci helped a pre-teen Maverick named Meredith see herself in new ways. This week, I tell about how brain training also helped Meredith's family, and her progress at school. Be sure to read more about Meredith's story below.
Back to School Webinar Workshop
Studies have shown that many conscious and subconscious beliefs about students are formed by faculty in the first two weeks and are confirmed in the following four weeks. We want our Mavericks to walk in the door of their new classroom with a sense of confidence, full of performance productivity and promise. We want them to look forward to the new school year. And so we have planned a "Back to School" Webinar Workshop for August 5th at 11a.m. EDT (NY Time) to give parents the tools they need to help their children with this big transition from summer to a new school year.
Parents who are not currently clients may sign up for this special workshop HERE. There's a short webinar poll to fill out and then we will send instructions for accessing the webinar.

MEREDITH'S STORY
Part 2: Family , Friends, and School
Last week I wrote about pre-teen Maverick Meredith's story. Meredith gained confidence as she learned about other Mavericks throughout history, such as Leonardo Da Vinci and Albert Einstein. Meredith even used Legos to create a "Leonardo Village," which her mom videotaped and posted on our Facebook page.
If you missed Meredith's Story, you can read about it HERE.
The changes in Meredith's symptoms and behavior before and after brain training were quite remarkable.
What I didn't tell you: The changes in Meredith's relationships with her family and friends was also quite remarkable, as was her performance at school.
Before Brain Training
Meredith's mom reported the following problems she observed in her daughter before she started her training with me:
- Inconsistent academic performance, not retaining material
- Trouble understanding teacher's lessons
- Difficulty reading sentences correctly and comprehending correct meaning
- Difficulty with written expression, frequent misspelling of common words
- Frequent bullying at school and problems with classmates
- Misreading people and describing things that they never actually said
After Brain Training After just a few months in Brain Engineering Labs training programs, Meredith's mom was happy to report:
- She is happy her parents and teachers finally understand her.
- She is asking for clarification of vocabulary words (and is excited to read the dictionary), labeling her mental pictures with words, and beginning to hear her inner voice talking-all indications of a verbal pathway beginning to function better.
- She is able to advocate for herself if she doesn't understand something instead of faking it, giving up, or keeping it inside. She asks for family meetings if she needs it.
- Meredith learned how to refresh her brain on her own if she is stressed or lacking energy by doing visual activities or cardio exercise.
For children, a big part of school is making friends. And Meredith did well there too. When she slept over at a friend's house, the friend's mother noticed a big change and asked if Meredith had changed her medication, because she had showed such good manners and had acted so much more mature.
Meredith's mom praised her daughter for her wonderful progress -- and Meredith told her mother that she realized she was saying "Yes, M'am" a lot without even thinking about it!
