Volume 3 # 1 · January 2010
Greetings!

Happy New Year! Read on to learn about all the ways your Florida Writers Association supports and encourages you. We wish all the best for you and your writing dreams in 2010!

Chrissy JacksonPlease welcome our new President: Chrissy Jackson. As Vice President, Chrissy worked tirelessly for FWA and as Conference Director, gave us the best conferences in FWA history. We look forward to new growth, new opportunities for our members, and an excellent 2010 under Chrissy's leadership.

Once again we want to extend our gratitude Dan Griffith, who served as president from 2005 to 2009. Under his leadership, FWA grew strong and expanded to over 1000 members.  Dan will remain as a Regional Director with FWA.  We wish him the very best and thank him for all he did for FWA and its members

Chris Hamilton, a member of FWA since 2005, has been named Vice President. He's been a dedicated volunteer for the Florida Writers Conference for the past two years, serving last year as Marketing Director and been active in the Tampa critique group, helping to establish critique guidelines used in other parts of the state.

Chris writes the FWA Blog. Originally used to market the conference, the blog is updated daily and now include posts related to other aspects of FWA and writing. Chris won an honorable mention in last year's Royal Palm Literary Awards for unpublished mystery and currently has two works in progress. He spent more than a decade as a technical writer.

Let's all congratulate and thank Chrissy and Chris for leading the Florida Writers Association!
