THE HERALD OF HOPE
January 2009
Our dear friend ...

Thank you for continuing to express your interest in Global Evangelism Ministries and our efforts around the world.

While 2008 was a busy year for us, we are thankful to the nearly 40,000 individuals who indicated their personal decision to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior through our ministries around the globe.

2009 promises to be one of our most productive years ever in ministry.  Each week we receive invitations to venture into another unreached field of evangelism.  Invitations include Pakistan, Vietnam, Burma, Nepal, and India.

I trust you will continue to pray for us and consider how you might become more intimately involved in our ministry.  Thank you again for your faithful participation in the Gospel.  Until Jesus comes, I remain

Yours, in the fulfilling of the Great Commission,

Ghana Church to complete building

The following is an appeal from GEM Ghana National Director, Rev. Sammy Lartey.

Pastor Simon lives in Juapong in the Volta Region where he pastors the Revival Baptist church, planted years ago through one of the GEM projects.Pastor Simon, apart from being a very hard working member of the GEM team, oversees 4 village churches in his area.

These churches comes together for  periodic fellowships at the Juapong church.

One great hindrance to these very healthy periodic fellowships for growth is the lack of a worship place. The need thus to provide this vital need can not be over emphasized .

PASTOR PAUL
I am as a matter of urgency Appealing to beloved Faithfuls of GEM to come to the Aid of Ps. Simon by giving to help meet this very pressing Need.

This provision will enhance the periodic fellowships of the 4village churches as well as their physical and spiritual growth which has been hampered by rainstorms that has always disturb their fellowship meetings.

Also vital for this provision is the Ordination of Ps Simon which will be on this year, but would not be possible without a worship place.

The 5000 Dollars estimated cost may rise but we trust to come together with our widow's mite  to get this vitally needed worship place fpr  the Juapong church.

May our good Lord richly bless you all for giving towards a just course.
Support for our FOOT SOLDIERS
Rev. Samuel A. Lartey
Rev. Sammy Lartey
GEM's vision of going where others will not dare go has prompted the need to leave a local pastor [ foot soldier ] in a remote village where a Project  was held but has no viable local church. His Task was to begin Bible Studies,Prayer with Worship service for an eventual church with the new converts of that village.

Rural Evangelism which is the vision of GEM is very expensive since all these local pastors [ foot soldiers ] has to be financially supported to enhance their very tiring labors in these remote villages.

It is in this vein that I write to appeal to G.E.M Faithfuls to help us support seven of these local Pastors with at least 50 Dollars a Pastor per month this year 2009.

I wish to humbly state that the number of these committed local Pastors increases with each Project as the need rises. We presently have over Thirty of such, but the Seven  that has been selected for this Year are in dire need in their areas of labor. It will be a tremendous relief and boost of morale if these Seven are supported in addition  to the Three [3] that are already being supported in the KADETS village Baptist churches.

These are the men working in the remote villages to keep the FIRES started by G.E.M Iin these villages ablaze.

Supporting these  will be a very good investment in the work of the LORD. 1st Cor. 15; 58.

INFORMATION ON THE PASTORS
As noted in the above email from GEM Ghana National Director, Sammy Lartey, one of the greatest needs for GEM this year is in the funding of support for several pastors in Ghana.  The urgency of this need cannot be overstated.

In our December2008newsletterwe shared with the complete need of funding for these pastors.  We are currently seeking funding for seven additional pastors in Ghana.  The annual support sought is $600 per pastor, or $4,200. The annual support may be given in a single gift of $600 or in two gifits of $300.

If you are willing to sponsor one or more of these pastors through a designated gift please visit our website to give online. If you have additional questions about this need, please contact us
and we will be happy to discuss it with you.

Here are the details on the first four pastors for whom we are seeking funding:

PASTOR EBENEZER
Pastor Ebenezer  Agblezer
is the District pastor for Peki. He pastors the newly planted Winners Baptist church of Peki - Blengo in addition to
overseeing two [2] new fellowships in the villages of Sodji - Kope and Peki Tsibu. He is married with two  [2] children.
