MEETING INCENTIVE EXPERTS CREATES "FEET FIRST" HUMANITARIAN PROGRAM IN CANCUN

Adam Lawhorne, President of Meeting Incentive Experts, and Heather Connelley, Marketing Manager for GFS Canada, (Gordon Food Service) organized a Humanitarian program in Cancun Mexico at the Fiesta Americana Condesa Cancun All Inclusive.
Participating school children attend the Cuza de Bronza School in Cancun. GFS Canada division donated 77 pairs of shoes and presented over 40 children with school materials and toothbrushes during there 2011 attendance of the Winners Circle Incentive program in Cancun Mexico. The children were transferred (courtesy of Meeting Incentive Experts) from their school to the resort via a deluxe motor coach.  Upon arrival, they were greeted with a standing ovation of applause and then seated in a unique Mayan venue. Breakfast was served for the children and attendees of GFS (hosted by the Fiesta Americana Condesa Cancun All Inclusive resort).  Gabriel Florero, Manager of MIE Cancun, and Jose Caballero coordinated the logistics with the Secretary of Education in Cancun for the school selection while Meeting Incentive Experts took care of the request to over 100 attendees to donate a pair of shoes for the 3rd and 4th grade students. Attendees and children were pre-matched for distribution.  Thank you GFS Canada for all of your support!

MEXICANA AIMS TO BEGIN FLYING LATE JANUARY

Mexicana Airlines, which stopped operating in August 2010 due to financial trouble, hopes to be back in the air by January 24, say Mexican news sources. The airline plans to begin ramping up gradually, starting with six planes that will cover eight routes: Cancún, Chicago, Guadalajara, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, and San Antonio, Texas. In the first half of 2010, Mexicana was the #1 Mexican airline internationally, with 65% of the market held by Mexican carriers. Within Mexico it was the second-largest carrier, with nearly 29% of the market.

 

WYNDHAM RESORT OPENS IN CABO SAN LUCAS

Wyndham Hotels and Resorts today announced the expansion of the upscale hotel brand's resort portfolio in Mexicowith the addition of the 286-room Wyndham Cabo San Lucas Resort in downtown Cabo San Lucas. The resort becomes the eighth Wyndham branded property in the country. The five-story resort is undergoing a $10 million renovation of its guest rooms, conference facilities and public spaces that is expected to be completed in early 2012. The resort is located in the Mexican municipality of Los Cabos at the southernmost tip of the Baja California peninsula, just fifteen miles from Los Cabos International Airport.
