Thanks to 2010 ATEO Sponsors!

The 2010 Athletic Training Educational Seminars were our best yet!  We had over 1,000 attendees this year.

We are in the planning stages for the 2011 campaign.  Many cities have requested we come your way this year.  The strength of our program coupled with the sponsor's participation allows to us to produce the sessions.   Email Rod Walters ([email protected]) with a specific request for your area.

Be sure to let our sponsors know how much you appreciated their support.  The banner to the left highlights these key companies.

Concussions in the News

The NCAA has reiterated its stance on the safety of student-athletes when it adopted a new policy requiring all NCAA member institutions to enact a Concussion Management Plan to be in place for the 2010-11 school year. This policy is a culmination of the NCAA's efforts to determine the appropriate care and treatment for its student-athletes' injuries.

On April 9, 2009 the NCAA held a "Concussion in Sport Collegiate Medical Summit" and invited subject experts in neurology, neuropsychology, sports medicine, as well as team physicians and athletic trainers.  Since that time, several hearings have been held by Congress as they consider legislation mandating standards of care and protocols subsequent to concussion in high school and collegiate athletes.

Both the NCAA and the NFL instituted their new policy in 2010.
