For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming; that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders, and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness. But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth. It was for this He called you through our gospel, that you may gain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word of mouth or by letter from us. Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace, comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word. - 2 Thessalonians 2:7-17

Shalom in Christ Jesus,
As believers, we need to be prepared for false signs and wonders that may challenge us. In the past few decades there has been a mass falling away from the true faith of those who call themselves "Christians" by following every wind of doctrine and the closer we get to Christ's return the worse this trend becomes.
The false signs and wonders spoken of in 2 Thessalonians 2:9 is linked directly to the "activity of Satan" when the man of lawlessness, more commonly referred to as the antichrist, is revealed. However, the previous verses make clear that the mystery of lawlessness is already at work and we know very well that there have been false signs and wonders recorded back to the time of pharaoh's magicians Jannes and Jambres.
First let me state that the epistle of 2 Thessalonians from the apostle Paul was written to the church and for the church. The main theme is eschatological (that is the last days), concerning the return of Christ, the condition of the church and how believers ought to conduct themselves in light of that truth.
I wish to make this clear because in covering a topic such as the connection between UFO's and the last days only certain portions of scripture apply. There are many in the UFO community who misuse the Bible as a proof-text for the existence of alien craft and visitation. The description of the four cherubim in Ezekiel chapter 1 as well as Enoch and Elijah's translation to heaven is probably the most common.
The scripture for this alert is the deluding influence, or strong delusion (KJV) that God has been giving those in the world (who have hardened their heart towards Him and rejected the truth of the gospel) over to the captivity of their desires and ever greater deceptions. This will be consummated with the ultimate delusion revealed with the reign of the antichrist and false prophet.
Today the worldview outside of true bible-believing Christianity is a mixture of all false faiths including Eastern religions, New Age, Atheism, Humanism, naturalism and even nominal Christianity that is grasping desperately for something to save them as their own belief systems have completely failed though they stubbornly will not admit it. This means they are all ripe for deception like no other time in history.
One trend that has always concerned me is that of UFO's and the alien abduction phenomena. The reason being is that this has all the hallmarks of the manifestation of the occult and demonic and clearly harkens back to the incidents that took place during the days of Noah. Yet, for the most part this has been treated skeptically or frivolously by the church.
I can understand skepticism and I totally agree that we are not dealing with "aliens" or "little green men" as "thy word is truth" but one cannot deny that something indeed is happening. However, to treat something that is evil as frivolous is dangerous, especially in this time of great deception and I hope to explain why in this alert.
It is because most in the church have been following every wind of doctrine, that is every fad and gimmick, book, movie, whatever, that they have completely lost their foundation of the words of the apostles, prophets and those of Christ the cornerstone found in the Scriptures. This has resulted in reasoning with the mind of man rather than the word of God.
One thing that we should understand is that "UFO" originally meant unidentified flying object. If you see something flying and you can't identify it, it is a UFO until you can. Somehow, the term has become to mean "alien spacecraft." There is debate and much evidence to suggest the use of purposeful military disinformation to create cover for the testing of top-secret or "black" projects. It is interesting to note that the first rash of UFO sightings and "alien" contacts seem to be in concert with the rapid growth of knowledge in physics and advances in the fields of electricity, electro-magnetic engineering and nuclear engineering during the early 1900's up and through World War II and into the 1950's hey day of the flying saucer craze. This is when mainstream media regularly covered such incidents and the radio and film industry made a slew of productions, the most famous perhaps being The War of the Worlds by Globalist and Fabian Socialist HG Wells. Once the US Military officially "debunked" the phenomena the mainstream media stopped covering the stories. However, one could argue that the most inexplicable cases were never honestly reviewed or investigated and it was during this time that the media only grew more centralized and complicit as a propaganda arm of the US government. It's a sad fact that although today's media is extremely corporate controlled and biased, there is enough diversity and decentralization with talk radio and the Internet to have opened up large holes in the wall of control the media giants once had on this country. Yet, today there is a shift in the spiritual climate, what was once only the topic of tabloids and late night talk receives a surge of mainstream coverage even by the likes of The New York Times and ABC News America. This is happening as the UN and the Vatican among others is acting as though they have suddenly been struck with some strange bug that causes extreme bouts of senselessness, as sightings seem to be on the increase everywhere. That is unless there is some other agenda in the works by the master deceiver and enemy of our souls who knows his time is very short. I would by no means declare myself an expert on this topic, but in the many years I have been watching, learning and discerning there are certain groups of people who jump out as being likely candidates to for UFO sightings and "alien" contacts. These are those involved in some sort of occult activity, those working specifically in the mentioned technologies above in a military situation with extremely high voltages and at nuclear instillations as well as those involved with aircraft and airports and near military bases. Understanding why those involved in the occult are open to this is simple and those who claim to be having regular conversations with "aliens" generally have the same message to share, they wish to bring peace and healing to the world. It is a message that comes right out of the playbook of the serpent. The other groups fit neatly into those being deceived by military disinformation. A few of the articles below discuss this very idea and one even goes further investigating purposeful psychological warfare against civilians. Some may have already read articles or watched the videos of police departments around the country using new non-lethal electronic weapons for crowd control such as sound and heat cannons that were first tested on the enemy in Iraq. But the talk of psy-ops experiments have been going on for some time and that is something that can very easily shake people not grounded spiritually. Additionally, I would not dismiss demonic manifestations, especially considering how close we are to the return of Christ. Nor do we know the effect the technologies of this past century up to now have had on the creation. Nimrod tried to build the Tower of Babel (gate of God or gate of the gods, TWOT 197) but God intervened and confused the languages of man. This "gate of the gods" was apparently open when the sons of God took the daughters of men in Genesis 6. Considering the words of our Lord, many believe that time will come again if it has not somehow already started.
With that, we must realize that this has become a religion of sorts for many and the world is looking for a savior and anything to believe in except the true Messiah, Jesus Christ. The result is a world ripe for spiritual deception beyond anything we have ever witnessed in our lifetime, and a technological infrastructure built that can create false signs and wonders to a willing to be deceived public at a moments notice. I recently mentioned in an email with our Moriel team concerning this very topic that I would not be surprised to wake up one day, turn on the TV news and see flying saucers parked over the cities of the world just like in the many of the movies that have been produce in recent years. Yet, I would not flinch (Lord Jesus willing I pray), as I almost expect a trick such as this or something else up the enemy's sleeve. I just don't know what except that the days are evil and I do not trust anything coming from this world. Jesus and His Word is all we have.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. -Ephesians 6:12-13 May the Lord bless you and keep you, BE/\LERT!Scott Brisk |
Astronomers Worldwide Forge New Rules for ET Engagement
| AOL NEWS [Aol Inc.] - By Lee Speigel - October 8, 2010 Is alien disclosure just around the corner?
I can't say for sure, but lately there's been a lot of news that, if looked at collectively, could be interpreted as pointing in that direction.
It seems as if everyone from the Vatican to the military to scientists conducting the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence, or SETI, are getting on the ET bandwagon.
Just last week, in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, the International Academy of Astronautics' SETI Permanent Study group created new guidelines for how earthlings should best handle official contact with extraterrestrials.
"The guidelines were and still are: Do good science and don't cry wolf. Make sure that what you're about to announce is, in fact, what you think it is," Jill Tarter, director of the SETI Institute's Center for SETI Research in California, told AOL News.
"In the case of the first protocol, it was: Don't respond until there's some consensus, a) that we should respond; and b) when we respond, who's going to speak for Earth and what are they going to say?
"We originally took that to the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, and it's duly filed away. When we presented that, we suggested that the U.N. might want to be proactive, and to think about the fact that this might happen."
For decades, SETI scientists, using radio and optical telescopes, have searched the heavens for proof that we're not alone in the universe. In the new SETI guidelines, the protocol for confirmation of an alien intelligence is clearly laid out:
"If the verification process confirms -- by the consensus of the other investigators involved and to a degree of certainty judged by the discoverers to be credible -- that a signal or other evidence is due to extraterrestrial intelligence, the discoverer shall report this conclusion in a full and complete, open manner to the public, the scientific community and the secretary-general of the United Nations."
Last November, Tarter was a participant at a Vatican-sponsored astrobiology conference -- a gathering of international scientists and religious leaders who considered the idea that life may exist elsewhere in the cosmos. In fact, a Jesuit astronomer, Jose Funes, director of the Vatican Observatory, had previously suggested that the idea of "brother extraterrestrials" would not conflict with Catholic doctrine. ...
Tarter, whose work formed the basis of the character portrayed by Jodie Foster in the 1997 movie "Contact," suggests religious groups would be fine with the idea that Earth is not the only inhabited planet around. ...
It's also hard to escape all the recent UFO items in the news.
Two months ago, the National Archives of England released UFO-related documents, including some that revealed how former Prime Minister Winston Churchill reportedly covered up wartime accounts of UFO sightings because he feared they might create a panic among the population.
Later this month, we'll find out how the European Union will finally respond to Italian Northern League leader Mario Borghezio's request, made in June, that EU member governments disclose their UFO files and establish a European UFO commission.
Ten days ago, at the National Press Club in Washington, several former Air Force officers came together, offering testimony of their experiences with UFOs at nuclear weapons sites, both in the U.S. and abroad, going back several decades.
An upsurge of UFO reports in China this year has prompted a planetary astronomer at the Purple Mountain Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to speculate that "contact between humans and extraterrestrial life will, hopefully, come this century." ...
So, does all of this -- SETI, Vatican, UFOs, high-atmosphere microbes -- or any of this signal a coming extraterrestrial disclosure?
Maybe I'm just tying a string of alien beads together that are leading nowhere, but I can't help wondering.

UN 'to appoint space ambassador to greet alien visitors'
| LONDON DAILY TELEGRAPH [Barclay] - By Heidi Blake - September 26, 2010 A space ambassador could be appointed by the United Nations to act as the first point of contact for aliens trying to communicate with Earth.
Mazlan Othman, a Malaysian astrophysicist, is set to be tasked with co-ordinating humanity's response if and when extraterrestrials make contact.
Aliens who landed on earth and asked: "Take me to your leader" would be directed to Mrs Othman.
She will set out the details of her proposed new role at a Royal Society conference in Buckinghamshire next week.
The 58-year-old is expected to tell delegates that the proposal has been prompted by the recent discovery of hundreds of planets orbiting other starts, which is thought to make the discovery of extraterrestrial life more probable than ever before.
Mrs Othman is currently head of the UN's little known Office for Outer Space Affairs (Unoosa).
In a recent talk to fellow scientists, she said: "The continued search for extraterrestrial communication, by several entities, sustains the hope that some day human kind will received signals from extraterrestrials.
"When we do, we should have in place a coordinated response that takes into account all the sensitivities related to the subject. The UN is a ready-made mechanism for such coordination."
Professor Richard Crowther, an expert in space law at the UK space agency who leads delegations to the UN, said: "Othman is absolutely the nearest thing we have to a 'take me to your leader' person".
The plan to make Unoosa the co-ordinating body for dealing with alien encounters will be debated by UN scientific advisory committees and should eventually reach the body's general assembly.
Opinion is divided about how future extraterrestrial visitors should be greeted. Under the Outer Space Treaty on 1967, which Unoosa oversees, UN members agreed to protect Earth against contamination by alien species by "sterilising" them.
Mrs Othman is understood to support a more tolerant approach.
But Professor Stephen Hawking has warned that alien interlopers should be treated with caution.
He said: "I imagine they might exist in massive ships, having used up all the resources from their home planet. The outcome for us would be much as when Christopher Columbus first landed in America, which didn't turn out very well for the Native Americans."

U.N. Weighs How to Answer a Knock on Earth's Door
|
Ed. Note: While this article makes clearly states no UN position exists on extraterrestrials or even outer space threats such as asteroids, it rightly points out that the UN is basically a farce (my words) at coming to any decision on important matters. However, they certainly have no trouble coming to a consensus blaming Israel for nearly every problem in the Middle East. It is interesting how evil does not have a problem coordinating itself.
NEW YORK TIMES [NYTimes Group/Sulzberger] - By Neil Macfarquhar - October 8, 2010 UNITED NATIONS - There is no United Nations special envoy for space aliens, let's get that straight from the outset, nor even an official designated to pick up the phone should one call.
It is true, however, that a United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs sits in Vienna. (No, it has nothing to do with amorous astronauts, either.) Its task consists basically of monitoring or refereeing cosmic matters - space debris, for example, or maintaining a list of about 3,000 objects sent hurtling into orbit in the past roughly 50 years.
Until this week, one could argue that with the exception of the scientific community, the office was more obscure than outer space itself. But it has been thrust into the limelight by a scientific conference in Britain whose panels included space-related topics like "Calling ET, or Not Even Answering the Phone?" and "Extraterrestrial Life and Arising Political Issues for the U.N. Agenda."
The idea, basically, is that one day, maybe one day soon, some manner of life or maybe a signal will materialize from another galaxy far, far away. How should earthlings react? Might, for example, the United Nations be designated the spokesman for the entire planet if Darth Vader comes to call.
The conference organizers totally dismissed that latter possibility.
"It is not the little green man in the flying saucer - that is the wrong image," said an organizer, Martin Dominik, a physicist at the University of St. Andrews. What is meant, he explained, were microbes, or perhaps an electronic signal.
"There could be interaction between life on our planet and life elsewhere so how do we deal with that," Mr. Dominik said, warming to the topic. What if the microbes are harmful, for example, or the signal hostile?
"The question is should we send messages into outer space or not?" Mr. Dominik added. "Is this dangerous? Should we make ourselves visible to extraterrestrial life or not? If they know we are here, do they want to destroy us, will they help us, do we gain something from that? These are all open questions."
The issue becomes more pressing as knowledge of other planetary systems expands and radio telescopes can beam ever more powerful signals into the void. The United Nations could play a valuable role, Mr. Dominik and others noted, in preventing a single nation, or perhaps, the American military from hogging the dance card of the first alien, even if it is a microbe.
Not that the United Nations will take a position, exactly. The secretary general, Ban Ki-moon, refused to comment.
"There is no United Nations position on extraterrestrial life," said Mazlan Othman, the Malaysian astrophysicist who runs the Office for Outer Space Affairs. ("I am not the ambassador to aliens!" she said.) ...
The discussion on coping with a threatening asteroid collision has already been grinding on in a subcommittee since 1999, Ms. Othman noted. "To get consensus on anything at all is difficult at the United Nations - water, peacekeeping, it is not just extraterrestrials," she said.

Professing to be wise, they became fools - Romans 1:22 Pope's astronomer says he would baptise an alien if it asked him
|
 | Alien "anti-Christ" |
An alien - 'no matter how many tentacles it has' - could have a soul, says pope's astronomer THE GUARDIAN [Guardian Media Group, UK] - By Alok Jha - September 17, 2010
[Ed. Note: Stupidest statement of the year award: "Steven Hawking is a brilliant physicist and when it comes to theology I can say he's a brilliant physicist"]
Aliens might have souls and could choose to be baptised if humans ever met them, a Vatican scientist said today. The official also dismissed intelligent design as "bad theology" that had been "hijacked" by American creationist fundamentalists.
Guy Consolmagno, who is one of the pope's astronomers, said he would be "delighted" if intelligent life was found among the stars. "But the odds of us finding it, of it being intelligent and us being able to communicate with it - when you add them up it's probably not a practical question."
Speaking ahead of a talk at the British Science Festival in Birmingham tomorrow, he said that the traditional definition of a soul was to have intelligence, free will, freedom to love and freedom to make decisions. "Any entity - no matter how many tentacles it has - has a soul." Would he baptise an alien? "Only if they asked."
Consolmagno, who became interested in science through reading science fiction, said that the Vatican was well aware of the latest goings-on in scientific research. "You'd be surprised," he said.
The Pontifical Academy of Sciences, of which Stephen Hawking is a member, keeps the senior cardinals and the pope up-to-date with the latest scientific developments. Responding to Hawking's recent comments that the laws of physics removed the need for God, Consolmagno said: "Steven Hawking is a brilliant physicist and when it comes to theology I can say he's a brilliant physicist."
Consolmagno curates the pope's meteorite collection and is a trained astronomer and planetary scientist at the Vatican's observatory. He dismissed the ideas of intelligent design - a pseudoscientific version of creationism. "The word has been hijacked by a narrow group of creationist fundamentalists in America to mean something it didn't originally mean at all. It's another form of the God of the gaps. It's bad theology in that it turns God once again into the pagan god of thunder and lightning."
Consolmagno's comments came as the pope made his own remarks about science this morning at St Mary's University College in Twickenham. Speaking to pupils, he encouraged them to look at the bigger picture, over and above the subjects they studied. "The world needs good scientists, but a scientific outlook becomes dangerously narrow if it ignores the religious or ethical dimension of life, just as religion becomes narrow if it rejects the legitimate contribution of science to our understanding of the world," he said. "We need good historians and philosophers and economists, but if the account they give of human life within their particular field is too narrowly focused, they can lead us seriously astray." ...

UFO filmed over the Vatican by U.S. ambassador security guards Was Rome visited by Unidentified Flying Objects? Definitely, and once again the sightings in the skies over Vatican City stirred newspaper headlines and numerous TV news reports in Italy. According to recent reports, it seems that a UFO flap is taking place in Rome and that strange objects were also recorded on camera several times. The most important one is the footage of an odd luminous formation taken by three security guards stationed in front of the residence of the U.S. ambassador to the Vatican (Holy See). These were qualified witnesses since they are artillerymen, trained experts in air surveillance. It was at 4 am in the night of June 7th when three men belonging to the 17 antiaircraft Regiment at the "Santa Barbara" station in Sabaudia (Latina province), spotted three spherical bright objects hovering in the sky above St. Peter's dome in the Vatican, right in the center of Rome. They promptly filmed the unexpected nocturnal air show with a cell phone. From their point of observation in the Roman Monteverde area (overlooked by the Gianicolo hill), they immediately stopped a police patrol. Well trained in spotting aircraft, the artillerymen excluded the possibility of a commercial plane, a jet fighter or a balloon. They described the object's swift maneuvers, mentioning a "darting move toward the sky," a "delta formation," and "luminous dots suspended at about three hundred feet above the ground." They added that there is "no way a conventional airplane can do such things." The UFO disappeared and reappeared for brief moments, with sudden changes of altitude before it darted westbound at a 40 degree angle. ... Thanks to the technical background of the witnesses, many TV networks took the news seriously. "Studio Aperto" (Mediaset, Italia Uno newscast) anchorwoman Elena Guarnieri introduced the segment saying: "We will show you now an exclusive video footage of a UFO sighting in Rome, this video was filmed by three soldiers, take a look." Staff journalist Paolo Capresi then describes the images: "They are three flying objects and they are floating in the air, they were filmed last night in the sky above Rome. ... U.S. Nuclear Weapons Have Been Compromised by Unidentified Aerial Objects
| Ex-military men say unknown intruders have monitored and even tampered with American nuclear missiles - Group to call on U.S. Government to reveal the facts PR NEWSWIRE - September 15, 2010 WASHINGTON -- Witness testimony from more than 120 former or retired military personnel points to an ongoing and alarming intervention by unidentified aerial objects at nuclear weapons sites, as recently as 2003. In some cases, several nuclear missiles simultaneously and inexplicably malfunctioned while a disc-shaped object silently hovered nearby. Six former U.S. Air Force officers and one former enlisted man will break their silence about these events at the National Press Club and urge the government to publicly confirm their reality.
One of them, ICBM launch officer Captain Robert Salas, was on duty during one missile disruption incident at Malmstrom Air Force Base and was ordered to never discuss it. Another participant, retired Col. Charles Halt, observed a disc-shaped object directing beams of light down into the RAF Bentwaters airbase in England and heard on the radio that they landed in the nuclear weapons storage area. Both men will provide stunning details about these events, and reveal how the U.S. military responded.
Captain Salas notes, "The U.S. Air Force is lying about the national security implications of unidentified aerial objects at nuclear bases and we can prove it." Col. Halt adds, "I believe that the security services of both the United States and the United Kingdom have attempted-both then and now-to subvert the significance of what occurred at RAF Bentwaters by the use of well-practiced methods of disinformation."
The group of witnesses and a leading researcher, who has brought them together for the first time, will discuss the national security implications of these and other alarmingly similar incidents and will urge the government to reveal all information about them. This is a public-awareness issue.
Declassified U.S. government documents, to be distributed at the event, now substantiate the reality of UFO activity at nuclear weapons sites extending back to 1948. The press conference will also address present-day concerns about the abuse of government secrecy as well as the ongoing threat of nuclear weapons. ...

UFO files: Winston Churchill 'feared panic' over Second World War RAF incident | LONDON DAILY TELEGRAPH [Barclay] - By Andrew Hough, and Peter Hutchison - August 5, 2010 Winston Churchill was accused of ordering a cover-up of a Second World War encounter between a UFO and a RAF bomber because he feared public "panic" and loss of faith in religion, newly released secret files disclose. The former Prime Minister allegedly banned reporting of the "bizarre" incident, off the east coast of England, for half a century amid fears disclosures about unidentified flying objects would create public hysteria. He is said to have made the orders during a secret war meeting with US General Dwight Eisenhower, the then commander of the Allied Forces, at an undisclosed location in America during the latter part of the conflict. The claims are contained in thousands of pages of declassified files on UFOs, released on Thursday online by the National Archives. The 18 files, which cover from 1995 to 2003, are made up of more than 5,000 pages of reports, letters, and drawings drawn from correspondence with the public and questions raised in parliament. The allegations involving Churchill were made by the grandson of one his personal bodyguards, an RAF officer who overheard the discussion, who wrote to the Ministry of Defence in 1999 inquiring about the incident after his grandfather disclosed details to his family.
According to the series of letters, written by the guard's grandson who is now a physicist from Leicester, a reconnaissance plane and its crew were returning from a mission over occupied Europe when they were involved in the war incident. During their flight, on the English coast, possibly near Cumbria, their aircraft was approached by a metallic UFO which shadowed them. Photographs of the object, which the crew claimed had "hovered noiselessly" near the plane, were taken by the crew. Later, during discussions about the unexplained incident, the two men were claimed to have become so concerned by the incident that Churchill ordered it remain secret for 50 years or more. During the meeting, a weapons expert dismissed suggestions the object was a missile as the event was "totally beyond any imagined capabilities of the time". Another person at the meeting raised the possibility of a UFO, at which point Churchill ordered the report to be classified for at least half a century and reviewed by the prime minister to stop "panic" spreading. "There was a general inability for either side to match a plausible account to these observations, and this caused a high degree of concern," wrote the scientist, whose details are redacted. "Mr Churchill is reported to have made a declaration to the effect of the following: 'This event should be immediately classified since it would create mass panic among the general population and destroy one's belief in the Church'." ...
While there was documents supporting the events, historians last night believed it more than likely occurred. They said that Churchill had a known interest with UFOs, even asking for a report in 1952 on "flying saucers" and what it "amounted to". Dr David Clarke, author of The UFO files and Senior Lecturer in Journalism at Sheffield Hallam University, said the "fascinating" files showed the level of concern about such "bizarre incidents" during the war. "It does tie in with what we already know as you have to remember that this was also long before the phrase UFO was created," he said. "I suspect there is an element of truth to the statement."

UFO Believers (Perhaps Around the Galaxy) Celebrate Interplanetary Conclave of Light
| AOL NEWS [Aol Inc.] - By David Moye - October 13, 2010 For the last 27 years, an organization calling itself the Unarius Academy of Science has been holding the Interplanetary Conclave of Light, a celebration to honor Earth's admission into an intergalactic confederation with 32 other planets. It's not a competition, but during that same period, Cinco de Mayo has become more universally celebrated on this planet than the conclave, which took place this year Oct. 9-10 on Earth as well as Vidus, Ballium, Zeton, Idonus and other planets with names that sound like new pharmaceutical drugs. ... Unarius is an acronym for Universal Articulate Interdimensional Understanding of Science, and Kennedy says the group follows the teachings developed in the 1950s by a man named Dr. Ernest L. Norman. Among their beliefs are the concepts that humans have lived hundreds of lifetimes on this and other planets and that the space brothers are going to land here anytime now. ... According to Hook, when the space brothers come, it will be in 33 different spaceship that will land one on top of the other on 60 acres of land near Jamul, Calif., a small town about 30 miles east of San Diego that is known for its rolling, rocky terrain. "Things will change, trust me, when those 33 spaceships -- one for each of the planets and one for Earth -- [come and land]," she said. "There will be 1,000 people on each ship. That's 33,000 lighted spiritual beings coming here. It's going to change the world just by their landing. And I'll tell you, I cannot wait for that." ...

Strange Signal Comes From Alien Planet, Scientist Says
|
 | VLA Radio Observatory - Socorro, NM |
SPACE.com [Tech Media Network] - By Denise Chow - October 11, 2010 The recent discovery of Gliese 581g, an alien planet in the habitable zone of another star, has been an exciting development for scientists probing the galaxy for signs of extraterrestrial life. At least one claim of a possible signal from the planet has already surfaced - and been met with harsh skepticism among the science community. Following the Sept. 29 announcement of the discovery of Gliese 581g, astronomer Ragbir Bhathal, a scientist at the University of Western Sydney, claimed to have detected a suspicious pulse of light nearly two years ago, that came from the same area of the galaxy as the location of Gliese 581g, according to the U.K.'s Daily Mail online. [Alien Planet Gliese581g: FAQ] Bhathal is a member of the Australian chapter of SETI, a non-profit scientific organization that is dedicated to research, exploration and education in the field of astrobiology. ...
Still, there are some scientists who are skeptical of Bhathal's assertion. "I know the scientist, and when he first announced it, I asked him for the details, and he wouldn't send them to me," astronomer and SETI pioneer Frank Drake told SPACE.com. "I'm very suspicious." Drake is credited with conducting the first search for signals from extraterrestrial intelligences 50 years ago as part of what was then called Project Ozma. He coined the famed Drake Equation to calculate the number (N) of alien civilizations with whom we might be able to communicate. Further study would perhaps confirm or deny the supposed observation, but Drake thinks that the claim is likely a dubious one.
Strange signal, or phantom? Bhathal claimed to have detected the puzzling signal in Dec. 2008, almost two years before researchers announced the Gliese 581g finding, and long before it was announced that habitable planets were found orbiting the star Gliese 581 itself. "I'm not aware of the location that was claimed for the source of that light, and [Bhathal] refused to tell me where it came from," Drake said. "I think it's very unlikely that it came from the direction of Gliese 581." Gliese 581g is one of two new worlds that was discovered orbiting the red dwarf star Gliese 581, which is located about 20.5 light-years from Earth. In total, there is a family of six planets that has been found around Gliese 581. [Tour the six Gliese 581 planets.] ...

Are UFO's Just A CIA Con-Trick? | LONDON DAILY MAIL [Associated Newspapers/DMGT] - By Harry Ritchie - August 17, 2010 Ufology is a faith that includes many beliefs, from the oddly popular one about Nazi aliens who live under the ground to David Icke's contention that the Duke of Edinburgh is in fact a shape-changing, blood-sucking alien lizard.
But here's the core of the faith - that some UFO sightings and encounters are real, the U.S. government knows all about these extraterrestrial visitations, and they've mounted a huge conspiracy to keep the aliens secret and us in the dark.
This book threatens to demolish that faith. Because here Mark Pilkington sets out to prove that the U.S. government really has been conducting a top-secret UFO conspiracy - only one designed not to hide UFOs but publicise them, fuelling and even creating the major UFO myths. Flying saucers, alien abductions, crash-landed spacecraft, secret underground bases in New Mexico - they were all created by the U.S. government.
As Mark Pilkington immediately acknowledges, that might sound only marginally less ridiculous and emptily melodramatic than claiming that the Royal Family are actually alien reptiles. But he begins to build a pretty convincing case that U.S. agencies really have been conducting just such a long-running disinformation campaign to promote UFOs. And it does make sense.
UFOs make the perfect cover story to hide experimental aircraft from prying Russian eyes as well as those of their own citizens. Ufologists are a particular pest to U.S. Air Force security, for ever trying to root around their secret projects and hack into their systems - they need to be led up various extraterrestrial garden paths and far away from finding out about actual highly-classified experiments in weaponry or aircraft.
Pilkington's theory would certainly explain why so many of the key UFO sightings and events happen near U.S. Air Force bases - such as Roswell, home of the famous 'incident' when an alien craft was supposed to have crash-landed, with a couple of aliens aboard.
And why so many extraterrestrial spaceships seem to behave like the pilotless drones and stealth aircraft developed by the U.S. Air Force. And why flying saucers should first turn up at the start of the Cold War, just when the U.S. Air Force was beginning to experiment with exotic new types of flight.
According to Pilkington, the campaign to promote the idea of UFOs was masterminded in the Fifties by the head of the CIA, Allen Welsh Dulles. More recently, many of the leaked fake documents and bogus stories seem to have come from the U.S. Air Force's Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI).
One victim of fake UFO documents evidently supplied by the American government was Timothy Good, whose international bestseller about supposed contact with aliens, Above Top Secret, included completely bogus papers planted in the American National Archives.
Another is George Adamski, an early fan of flying saucers whose bestselling books in the Fifties described his meetings with a chap called Orthon from Venus and his own trips in flying saucers.
I came across one of Adamski's mad books in my local public library when I was a boy, and I remember being disturbed and perplexed - this was a book, a proper printed book, so all this stuff about going to Venus and meeting Venusians ... it had to be real, didn't it? Now, it seems Adamski was an innocent, eager dupe and that Orthon and the spaceships weren't figments of his silly or venal imagination but real people and vehicles supplied by the CIA.
Fake spaceships, fake aliens, fake documents and even a fake underground alien base - it might all seem unduly elaborate and indeed expensive.
But the Americans certainly had the money for it, budgeting billions of dollars for the CIA's black arts.
The Pentagon already had a good bash at that themselves, sponsoring a recruitment film of the Seventies, which claimed that UFOs were real and which included footage of a flying saucer landing at a U.S. Air Force base and a couple of aliens disembarking.
And that, you might think, is the Pentagon bang to rights. But at this point in the book, things begin to get even more complicated.
An AFOSI agent takes Pilkington aside and confides the real 'truth' - yes, there is a huge government conspiracy to produce a smokescreen of nonsense about UFOS, of course; however, it's designed to hide not supersonic test-flights but ... real UFOs. ...

The Truth Behind UFO Sightings and the U.S. Air Force 'Mirage Men' author Mark Pilkington discusses how the military used UFO stories to keep aircraft projects secret
|
U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT [NY Daily News/Mortimer Zuckerman] - By Alex Kingsbury - September 16, 2010 Are UFOs a mirage, conjured up by the Air Force to obscure classified flight projects? In part, argues Mark Pilkington, a British journalist and filmmaker who writes about society's oddities. In Mirage Men: An Adventure into Paranoia, Espionage, Psychological Warfare, and UFOs, he makes a persuasive case that much UFO-logy canon was started or encouraged by the government trying to conceal Cold War military projects. He recently chatted with U.S. News about the origins and effects of UFO mythology around the world. Excerpts:
How has the UFO story been shaped by the government? These ideas do generate themselves to some extent, but there is evidence that they were specifically shaped in some instances. I don't think this is some long-running grand conspiracy, I just think that the UFO story has been deployed and used at times when it was convenient. Just about everything that is popularly believed about UFOs has been exploited, shaped, and, at times, generated by people working for the U.S. Air Force and the intelligence community. The idea that UFOs crashed on U.S. soil, that the U.S. government was harboring and hiding UFO technology, that it was denying its citizens the right to know that aliens have come here and visited-all these things have been deliberately seeded into the culture.
Why would the government "seed" these ideas? UFO stories are used as a cover story for the flight-testing of experimental and clandestine aircraft. If you look at the places where UFO sightings are frequent, they are also the places where the military tests its experimental aircraft. For the first few years that UFOs circulated in popular culture after World War II, the public didn't talk about UFOs as being alien. Rather, they were talked about as advanced U.S. or Russian aircraft.
How long has this been going on? Much of it dates to the first flights of the U2 spy plane back in the 1950s. The CIA's in-house journal had a story about 10 years ago that said that one of the functions of Project Blue Book [the official Air Force investigation into UFOs] was to monitor how visible the U2 was to people on the ground. Someone would see what they thought was a UFO and then the Air Force would send someone around to talk with them. Of course, the Air Force would have a schedule of the U2 flights and be able to tell if what the person saw was indeed a U2. By talking to all these supposed UFO witnesses, the CIA could assess how visible the U2 was.
Were the Soviets a target for this? There are other, more subtle motivations from the U.S. side. One is the idea of a super weapon. If unfriendly nations believe that you harbor alien technology that you have integrated into your own weapons systems and aircraft, then they have good reason to be afraid.
What happened in 1952 over Washington, D.C.? The first incident took place early one morning in July. It was reported extensively in the newspapers that a number of unknown objects appeared on radar screens around Washington. Now, it looks very plausible to me that the Washington incident was a demonstration of a technology from the Defense Department, known as Project Palladium, which allowed the operator to project radar blips onto other radar screens. Later on, the technology became very sophisticated to the point where you could change the shape of the blip and its speed and so forth. We go on in the book at length about the evidence that suggests that the Washington radar incident was a planned operation.
Do UFO fanatics know it may be they're duped? Certainly. I'm not the first person to tell them this. UFO lore has transcended to what has become a religious matter for many of those involved. We talk to a man called Bill Moore, who in the 1980s was one of the most respected people in the UFO community. He was co-opted by Air Force intelligence to act as a mole passing information to the Air Force about what people were researching and to pass disinformation back into the UFO community. When he came clean about all this at a UFO convention in 1989, people ran out crying into the hallways. But what happened to the larger UFO lore? Nothing.
Is this a worldwide phenomenon? The UFO story is a global one, but I think it has its origins in American culture. Not long ago there was a major UFO wave in Iran. Not surprisingly, all the UFO incidents happened near the country's known nuclear sites. Initially it was odd lights in the sky, then over a few days, the stories started getting more dramatic. They were describing small robots hovering in the skies. I read an interesting article recently that described the impact of the drone use over Pakistan and Afghanistan. The villagers describe the drones as being spiritual beings with a life of their own that live in bedrooms in space and come to feed on women and children. It is fascinating to watch, because I feel like I've seen it all before. It will be different for every nation, as they develop. Perhaps every nation will get the aliens it deserves.

Were the 1997 Arizona Lights a psychological warfare experiment? Part 1
|
 | "Phoenix Lights" March 13, 1997 |
EXAMINER [Clarity Media Group] - By Randall Fitzgerald - February 24, 2010 With the 13th anniversary at hand of what was arguably the most widely witnessed UFO event in U.S. history, coupled with this week's airing of a documentary about the Arizona Lights incident on The National Geographic Channel, it seems time for me to revisit the evidence for what happened based on my own investigation. These are findings that were mostly shunted aside and overlooked in the rush to judgment that the event must be either extraterrestrial in origin, or a simple misidentification of aircraft.
Some months after the sightings occurred in 1997, Reader's Digest magazine, at that time the most widely read publication in the world, financed my two-month fulltime investigation of the sighting in my role as a Roving Editor. Their support enabled me to travel around Arizona and interview in person, or by phone, more than 50 witnesses, including many who would later become fixtures in the media as commentators on the incident, such as Mike Fortson, former airline pilot Trig Johnston, and Tim Ley.
During the interview process, I was particularly interested in finding three categories of witnesses: airline pilots who were flying that night and flew close to the formation of lights, or even communicated with them; air traffic controllers on duty that night; and observers who used binoculars to get close-up views of the lights from the ground. I found numerous witnesses from all three categories.
When my resulting article was published in Reader's Digest it appeared, as all articles in that magazine do, in a greatly abridged form. I have kept all of my notes from interviews done more than a dozen years ago and would like to share my findings with you.
Here is a chronology of the sightings that night using a few of the interview accounts that best represent the widely divergent points of view on what really happened. In Part Two, I will discuss the many 'coincidences' that, taken together, make this incident a possible psychological warfare experiment. ...

Mystery shiny objects floating over Manhattan spark UFO frenzy
| NEW YORK DAILY NEWS [Mortimer Zuckerman] - By Oren Yaniv, Rocco Parascandola and Lukas I. Alpert - October 13, 2010 A mysterious shiny object floating high over Manhattan's West Side set off a flurry of reports and wild speculation Wednesday that a UFO was flying over the city. Police and the FAA said they began getting flooded with calls starting at 1:30 p.m. from people reporting a silvery object hovering high over Chelsea. Law enforcement sources said they believed the object was likely some sort of balloon, but as of late Wednesday they had not confirmed exactly what it is. A Daily News reporter could see a tiny, silver dot floating approximately 5,000 feet above 23th St. and Eighth Ave., where dozens of people gathered late in the afternoon to catch a glimpse. ...
Despite clear skies, it was not easy to make out the tiny object shimmering overhead. "You really have to look up to see it," said one witness, who gave only his first name, Rico. "It's a little crazy. I guess that's why they call it an unidentified flying object because they don't know what it is." Not long after the first sightings, messages began appearing on Twitter linking to a month-old press release announcing the publication of a book by a retired NORAD officer predicting that UFOs would buzz the earth's major cities on Oct. 13.
The Federal Aviation Administration said it received several calls to its operations center but after reviewing radar data, the agency could not find anything out of the ordinary. "We re-ran radar to see if there was anything there that we can't account for but there is nothing in the area," said spokesman Jim Peters. "There was some helicopter traffic over the river at that time and we checked with LaGuardia Tower. And they said they had nothing going low at that time." "Nothing that we can account for would prompt this kind of response," he said. ...

New Yorkers Mistake Balloons For UFOs?NEW YORK - A lot of people saw it, but no one's quite sure what it was. We're talking about something in the sky spotted over Manhattan on Wednesday afternoon. CBS 2 cameras captured the objects while shooting up above Chelsea at 23rd Street and Eighth Avenue. Local media and the NYPD received several calls throughout the afternoon. However, as CBS 2 cameras showed, the objects appeared to be yellow balloons, although there has been no official confirmation from the NYPD. On the streets below there was a lot of intrigue about the mystery going on up above. Weird sightings in the sky are not new to our area. Back in January of 2009, strange, red, blinking lights could be seen across Morris County, N.J., and officials thought they had figured out what caused them. In the end, though, it wasn't exactly a close encounter. It turns out the lights were part of a hoax. Prosecutors said two men with too much time on their hands pulled off the trick with five flares, fishing line and helium balloons. Read Full Report: WCBS-TV2 NEW YORK, NY[CBS Corporation] - October 13, 2010 'UFO' over New York was just balloons... so how do they explain the mirror image over El Paso?It could, of course, just be an amazing coincidence. First New York was gripped by sightings of UFOs in the sky last week. The fears were quickly debunked by the claim that the 'UFOs' were actually balloons released from a nearby school. But this weekend lights forming a mirror image of the pattern seen in the sky over New York have been seen in El Paso, Texas - immediately sparking speculation that the little green men have moved down south. Witnesses in El Paso flooded local police stations and newsrooms with phone calls. Many reported seeing the same sequence of events in the night sky. First one light appeared to cascade from the heavens, separating into three, each with a tail behind it. Then they are seen solidifying into three dots forming a triangle - a triangle that was the mirror image of the three 'balloons' in New York. Next a fourth light appeared, the lights appearing to hover in the air - and then, suddenly, they all went out. Because it was dark, it seems unlikely that these lights are balloons. The lights were captured on video and have sparked a frenzy of speculation, especially after a local news station pointed out the simliarity between them and the sightings over New York last week. ... UFO in China's Skies Prompts Investigation - Eighteen Flights Delayed, Theories Abound
|
 | Xiaoshan Airport, Hangzhou, China at 8:40pm July 7, 2010 :: - ABC News |
ABC NEWS [American Broadcasting Companies, Inc./The Walt Disney Company] - By Mary Huang - July 14, 2010 An unidentified flying object (UFO) forced Xiaoshan Airport in Hangzhou, China to cease operations on July 7. A flight crew preparing for descent first detected the object around 8:40 p.m. and notified the air traffic control department. Aviation authorities responded within minutes, grounding outbound flights and diverting inbound ones to airports in Ningbo and Wuxi.
Eighteen flights were affected. Though normal operations resumed an hour later, the incident captured the attention of the Chinese media and sparked a firestorm of speculation on the UFO's identity.
"It is a hidden U.S. bomber flying toward China," one Internet user wrote on Monday. Another wrote on Sunday night, "In my opinion, the UFO is neither a U.S. missile nor a Russian satellite. Suggestions that it is extraterrestrial are even more preposterous. Everyone, use your head. This is clearly a man-made phenomenon. Would the U.S. or Russia risk provoking China's anger by firing a missile or satellite rocket in Chinese skies, without warning? I believe the Chinese military is responsible for the UFO. It is a new missile or aircraft being tested out."
Fueling speculations further, Hangzhou residents released photos, taken in the afternoon before the delays, of a hovering object bathed in golden light and exhibiting a comet-like tail. Less than an hour before the Xiaoshan airport shut down, residents said they also saw a flying object emitting red and white rays of light.
Resident Ma Shijun was taking a nighttime stroll with his wife when he saw the object.
"I felt a beam of light over my head. Looking up, I saw a streak of bright, white light flying across the sky, so I picked up the camera and took the photo. The time was 8:26 p.m. However, whether the object was a plane, or whether it was Xiaoshan Airport's UFO, I don't have a clear answer," Ma told the Xinhua news agency.
For now, the UFO's identity remains shrouded in mystery. A spokesman from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) confirmed to ABC News that the matter is under investigation. He declined to disclose further details. A day after the sighting, however, an anonymous source told China Daily that authorities already discovered the identity of the UFO after an investigation but could not publically disclose the information because "there was a military connection." An official explanation is expected to be released on ...

Second UFO sighting baffles China Another Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) has been reportedly detected in Chongqing province Another unidentified flying object (UFO) has been spotted hovering over a part in southwestern China's Chongqing province after a similar sighting last week caused massive flight delays at a municipal airport, according to latest Chinese media reports. All alleged witnesses of the latest sighting spoke of "four lantern-like objects", according to Chinese state-controlled news agency Xinhua. The witnesses claimed that the objects "formed a diamond shape and hovered over the city's Shaping Park for over an hour," Xinhua said. One witness, Mr Chen, said, "I stared at it and it did not move. After hovering for an hour, the thing started to fly higher and finally out of people's sight." He also added that it must have been a UFO and people began to notice it around 8pm Wednesday. ... Read Full Report: XINMSN [MediaCorp, Singapore] - July 16, 2010
Another UFO Shuts Down Another Airport in China Here we go again. Just months after an unidentified object temporarily shut down an airport in China, another UFO briefly halted operations at a different Chinese airport. According to initial sketchy reports in ShanghaiDaily.com and the People's Daily Online, the UFO forced the Baotou airport in China's Inner Mongolia province to prevent three planes from landing for almost an hour Saturday night. Whatever the unknown object was -- and mind you, nobody is claiming aliens or interdimensional beings here -- it was reported hovering near the airport. As strictly a safety response, officials wouldn't allow aircraft to land and directed two of them to land at neighboring airports (where, presumably, the UFO had no interest). ... Tracking UFOs in China Recently, reports of Unidentified Flying Objects (UFO) have been occurring frequently in China. On July 7 this year, more than 20 flights were postponed at Xiaoshan International Airport in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, because of a sighting. Whenever such reported sightings occur, Wang Sichao, a research fellow at the Purple Mountain Observatory (PMO) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, is much busier than usual. In addition to studying the sightings, Wang, who started work on UFOs nearly 40 years ago, has to check and reply to mail about UFOs from all across China. Lately, Wang predicted "great events" concerning UFOs were going to come out in China in the next two years. In an interview with Beijing Review, he shared his views and stories with reporter Tang Yuankai. ... Read Full Report: BEJING REVIEW - September-28-2010 NO. 40 - October 7, 2010
