Romans 11:25-27 For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery--so that you will not be wise in your own estimation--that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in; and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written, "THE DELIVERER WILL COME FROM ZION, HE WILL REMOVE UNGODLINESS FROM JACOB." Shalom in Christ Jesus, |
Pesach (Passover) is on Tuesday (Monday night), 15 Nisan 5770 (March 30, 2010).
The entire world including The United States, which is just
a mongrel nation made up mainly from the first Roman Empire that came up out of
the sea is turning against Yahweh's chosen nation Israel. As the church falls
away into apostasy a believing remnant understands this and supports Israel and
Gods grace continues to be poured out on this group as He turns His grace to
Israel where more and more natural branches are being saved and becoming
believers in Yeshua/Jesus their Messiah. What an awesome time to be alive as
the remnant of Gentile believers are blessing Jewish believers with support
from around the world and Jewish believers are blessing Gentiles with a deeper
understanding of the Scriptures not understood since the first century.
As Passover is upon us, this alert looks as the recent
shakings surrounding the so-called "peace talks" and the lies and media bias
that continue to distort the truth.
May the Lord bless you and keep you,
BE/\LERT!

Moriel Response by Jacob Prasch to the Presbyterian Church of America Regarding Israel
|
Moriel Ministries |
MORIEL MINISTRIES - February 25, 2010
Note: The following was received in response to Moriel's
public posting of an article titled "Presbyterian Church USA Ready to
Declare War Against Israel: Take Action Now". This was transmitted to us by
Linda Valentine and Rev. Grady Parsons of the Presbyterian Church of the USA.
Please continue reading for our response to this message found at the end of
this post.
February 23, 2010
A statement from the Reverend Gradye Parsons, Stated Clerk
of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) regarding the work
of the General Assembly Middle East Study Team.
A human rights organization within the Jewish community has
issued a statement about the report to the 219th General Assembly (2010) from
the General Assembly committee to prepare a comprehensive study focused on
Israel/Palestine. The statement says, "...we are deeply troubled that current
moves underway in the Church radically depart from its 2008 commitment that its
review of Middle East policies would be balanced and fair."
The Middle East Study Team's report, which will be released
by Friday, March 5, 2010, contains a letter to the American Jewish community.
The study team begins the letter by saying:
We want to be sure to say to you in no uncertain terms: We support the
existence of Israel as a sovereign nation within secure and recognized borders.
No "but," no "let's get this out of the way so we can say what we really want
to say." We support Israel's existence as granted by the U.N. General Assembly.
We support Israel's existence as a home for the Jewish people. We have said
this before, and we say this again. We say it because we believe it; we say it
because we want it to continue to be true.
The team, which engaged in intensive study, meetings, and
travel to the Middle East since their appointment following the 218th General
Assembly (2008), continues:
And, at the same time, we are distressed by the continued policies that
surround the Occupation of the West Bank, East Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip, and
the Golan Heights, in particular. Many of us come to this work out of a love
for Israel. And it is because of this love that we continue to say the things
we say about the excesses of Occupation, the settlement infrastructure, and the
absolute death knell it is sounding for the hopes of a two-state solution, a
solution that the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) has supported for more than
sixty years.
Several previous General Assemblies of the Presbyterian
Church (U.S.A.) have adopted statements about Israel/Palestine. Two excerpts:
In 2004: The General Assembly of
the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) has approved numerous resolutions on Israel
and Palestine, repeatedly affirming, clearly and unequivocally, Israel's right
to exist within permanent, recognized, and "secure" borders (for example: 1969,
1974, 1977, 1983, 1989, etc.). It has deplored the cycle of escalating violence-carried
out by both Palestinians and Israelis-which is rooted in Israel's continued
occupation of Palestinian territories (cf. statements of successive assemblies
since 1967). Presbyterians have continued to be concerned about the loss of so
many innocent lives of Israelis and Palestinians (see "Resolution on the Middle
East," approved in 1997, and "Resolution on Israel and Palestine: End the
Occupation Now," approved in 2003)." GA Minutes, 2004, p. 66.
In 2006: We call upon the
church..."To work through peaceful means with American and Israeli Jewish,
American and Palestinian Muslim, and Palestinian Christian communities and
their affiliated organizations towards the creation of a socially,
economically, geographically, and politically viable and secure Palestinian
state, alongside an equally viable and secure Israeli state, both of which have
a right to exist." GA Minutes, 2006, p. 945.
I join the Middle East Study Team that will be reporting to
this summer's General Assembly in asking all people to continue to pray, and
work, for the peace of Jerusalem.

A Statement from Moriel and Jacob Prasch
Dear Rev. Parsons & Mrs. Valentine
I direct a Christian ministry operating orphanages for AIDS
orphan babies in Africa and active in the human rights of Christians persecuted
in various countries.
Your not so cordial response is frankly the usual kind of
nonsense of a declining denomination with declining numbers reflecting its
spiritual, doctrinal, and moral decline. As PCA declines it tries to remain relevant
by a biased political activism.
1: If PCA supports Israel's right to exist, why did it
endorse an Islamic oriented document affirming the right to work for Israel's
destruction?
2: How can an
archaeologically verified indigenous people be called an 'occupier'; can
Apaches occupy Arizona? Neither can Jews occupy biblical Israel.
3: The notion that the presence of the indigenous people is
responsible for Islamic terror is a hideous lie. Prior to Israel's 1967 war of
self-defense, Islamic belligerents were already applying the instruments of
terror.
If there was no Israel we would still have 80,000 Christians
murdered by Islam in The Southern Philippines, 300,000 murdered Christians in
East Timor, 3.3 million Christians murdered in Sudan by Islam, 1 million
murdered Christians in Nigeria, the martyrdom of 98% of Iranian pastors, the
capital execution of converts to Christianity in Saudi Arabia, the terror
attacks in New York & Washington, Spain, London, Mumbai, Beslan, Moscow and
elsewhere. We would still have the Islamic riots in Paris, Sydney, and
Bradford, England if Israel did not exist as well as the Hamas persecution of
Christians in Gaza.
If there were no Israel, you would still have over 1,000
instances of Islamic honor killings of women in Jordan alone. As a Christian, I
thank God that Israel absorbed the Christian refugees from Lebanon driven out
of their land and homes by Hizbollah. I also thank God that at least one Middle
Eastern country protects the human rights of women, secularists, homosexuals
& lesbians, and women and that country is Israel - the one PCA
hypocritically singles out.
Prior to the Intifadas, the UN World Health Organization
admitted that the standard of living in everything from longevity, employment,
and reduced infant mortality improved 370% in Gaza and 320% in The West Bank
after 1967 under the Israelis compared to what it had been.
From May 1948 until June 1967 The West Bank, East Jerusalem,
The Golan, and Gaza were all in Arab Moslem hands. If they wanted a second a
second Palestinian Arab state in addition to the demographic & geographic
one already existing in Jordan (according to Yassir Arafat in 1970 and King
Hussein of Jordan in 1967) why didn't the Moslems create one when they had
nearly 20 years to do so. These are the facts.
It is little wonder church attendance and membership of the
PCA is rapidly heading towards a free fall. I pray to God that your
hypocritical excuse for Christianity falls so far and so fast that it can never
get up and recover if you continue on your present path oblivious to the true
abuses of human rights in The Middle East - the persecuted church. And it is
not Israel persecuting the Arab, Asian, African, & Iranian Christians
Sincerely,
JJ Prasch (Rev)

"Do not be arrogant toward the branches" URGENT! Presbyterian Church USA Ready to Declare War Against Israel: Take Action Now |
SIMON WIESENTHAL CENTER - February 23, 2010 A group of activists hostile to Israel, including theologians and others in some prominent Protestant churches have launched a dangerous campaign to use theology to delegitimize the Jewish State and her supporters. They may be only days away from putting the policy of a large Protestant denomination on a collision course with Israel's survival - unless we raise our voices in protest.
In 2004, The Presbyterian Church in the US (PCUSA) became the first mainline
Protestant denomination to approve a policy of divestment from Israel. Unpopular with church members, it was later rescinded.
But in 2008, church leaders supposedly seeking to balance PCUSA'a Middle East policies, instead, created a committee dominated by seven activists holding strong anti-Israel beliefs. The lone member sympathetic to Israel, quit in protest when he saw their radical agenda.
Here's what we know about their report from a press release leaked by the committee last month: - the report calls for the US to withhold financial and military aid to Israel
- it apologizes to Palestinians for even conceding that Israel has a right to exist
- it declares that Israel, if defined as a Jewish State, must be inherently racist
- it embraces the Kairos Palestine Document, produced by Palestinian Christians, calling for boycott and sanctions against Israel and endorses full Palestinian 'right of return' to Israel which would lead to the demise of the Jewish democratic state
- it denies any connection between biblical covenants and the Jewish people. Israel's history, it claims, begins only with the Holocaust, a nation mistakenly created by Western powers at the expense of the Palestinian people to solve the 'Jewish problem'
Adoption of this poisonous document by the Presbyterian Church will be nothing short of a declaration of war on Israel and her supporters.
It will be negatively impact interfaith relations, and could have significant repercussions in the political domain, with 46 Members of the US Congress and Senate who are Presbyterians.
And these initiatives, encouraged by the Geneva-based World Council of Churches, will cause a ripple effect on other denominations.
Which is why we urgently ask you to do two things: 1) Protest directly to the top leadership of the PCUSA urging them to stop this dangerous campaign which denies the legitimacy and security of Israel
2) Reach out to your Presbyterian friends and ask them to speak out against this potential rewriting of PCUSA's policy towards Israel that will destroy the era of good will that has been fostered with the Jewish community for decades.
There are many staunch friends of Israel in PCUSA whose voices are being drowned out by a few determined activists, who are relentlessly pursuing a radical political anti-Israel agenda. Act now: It is not too late for you to make a difference

About that Anti-Israel Thing going on right now
|
MORE BOOKS AND THINGS - March 16, 2010
I got an interesting e-mail this morning. It's about another
conference is going on right now (March 12-17, 2010), but this one is not quite
in the same category as the awesome, Bible believing ones mentioned yesterday. Now, I don't know very much about these things, but it seems to
me that the thing that makes this particular conference kind of shocking is
that this one's at Bethlehem Bible College in Bethlehem - the birth place of
Jesus Christ (Matthew 2:6). Bethlehem means "House of Bread", and it is here in this very place that the "Bread of Life," the Word (the logos),
was born to one day bring peace to the world. But ironically, it appears to me,
the little brown blogger of very little brain, that those who claim to know
Jesus Christ and believe in His Word are meeting in His place of birth to deny
His very Word, and talk about their own ideas for peace.
They say that the aim of this conference is to:
...equip the global church
to understand Scripture as it relates to the Palestinian context, and to
discuss the theological importance of Peace and Justice in an Evangelical
context.
Our hope is to provide a forum for evangelicals who take the Bible seriously to
prayerfully seek a well-informed awareness of issues of peace, justice and
reconciliation which are contextually sensitive as well profound to scriptural
scholarship.
The speakers at this conference are listed here:
http://www.christatthecheckpoint.com/speakers.html
Today's keynote speakers may seem like a particularly surprising combo, but
really this is no surprise. They are listed as Lynne Hybels and Tony Campolo.
Lynne Hybels, of course, is the wife of Bill Hybels of Willow Creek church and
Willow Creek Association (which most seeker friendly churches today are members
of). Besides partnering with the Tutus and the Warrens in social justice and world peace endeavours,
Mr. Hybels has had the anti-semetic Jimmy Carter in to speak, as well as Tony
Blair and Bono (Mr. COEXIST), etc. You may recall that Mr. Hybels is also a signatory of...
This "Common Word
Between You and Us", complete with its own website and heavy hitting
endorsements from the misguided likes of Rick Warren, Bill Hybels, Leith
Anderson, and Jim Wallis of the religious left, has proven to be more of a
sophisticated anti-Israel propaganda tool than legitimate Inter-Faith dialogue.
-'A Common Word'
-- Inter-Faith Dialogue or Propaganda Tool?
Mrs. Hybels has also signed something:
"Something called the
Christians Support Bold Action for Holy Land Peace campaign was launched; a
letter signed by 50 leaders included Tony Campolo, Joel Hunter (president of
the NAE); Bill and Lynne Hybels; Richard Mouw, President of Fuller; and David
Neff, editor-in-chief CT.
This, my friends, represents a thrust deep into the heart of evangelicalism, so
long a community that by and large supported Israel. That support is no longer
guaranteed, and the presence of Hunter and Hybels cements the fact."
-The Crusades
[www.prophecymatters.com]
As far as Mr. Campolo goes, well, besides his
contemplative, mystical, Ancient Roman Catholic spirituality, centering prayer
side, he seems to think that Israel is "stealing" their own land... ...Edited :: See Original Report Herehttp://roshpinaproject.wordpress.com/2010/03/24/messianic-jewish-alliance-of-america-hosts-inspiration-ministries-televangelist/

More proof they cannot even read English Archbishop of Canterbury Says Christian Zionism Not Part Of Christian Tradition
|
EURASIAN REVIEW - February 20, 2010The Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams said that the theology of Christian Zionism has no historical base and is a recent Protestant addition, according to Petra, the Jordanian state media agency. Williams, who is on a four-day visit to Jordan, Israel and Palestine from Feb. 19-23, was reported by Petra as saying that the belief by some Protestants that the establishment of the Jewish state is a prerequisite for the return of Christ doesn't have a historical basis and only appeared as a result of "some biblical studies in the nineteenth century." Christian Zionism is a belief among some Christians that the return of the Jews to the Holy Land, and the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, is in accordance with Biblical prophecy. Some Christian Zionists believe that the gathering of Jews in Israel is a prerequisite for the Second Coming of Jesus. This belief is primarily associated with Christian Dispensationalism and the idea that Christians should actively support Israel. In the same Petra report, Williams said the Amman Message aims to clarify to the modern world the true nature of Islam. The Amman Message is a statement that was issued in 2004 by King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan, calling for tolerance and unity in the Muslim world. A three-point ruling was issued by 200 Islamic scholars from over 50 countries, focusing on issues of defining who a Muslim is, excommunication from Islam (takfir), and principles related to delivering religious edicts. ... Jersalem posters call for 3rd Temple
|
Sign on Bus - "May the Bais Hamikdosh be rebuilt speedily" |
Posters leaving out Al Aksa mosque plastered on buses with Jerusalem routes.THE JERUSALEM POST [Mirkaei Tikshoret] - By Abe Selig - March 29, 2010 While tensions continue to simmer around the Temple Mount after riots in and around the capital's Old City earlier this month, a new campaign calling for the construction of the Third Temple atop the holy site has made its way to the sides of 200 Egged buses in the city, which now sport posters featuring a picture of a rebuilt temple on the Mount, and nothing else. The posters, which contain the phrase, "May the Bais Hamikdosh be rebuilt speedily and within our days," were sponsored by the Our Land of Israel group, which is led by Rabbi Shalom Dov Volpo and activist Baruch Marzel, leave out the site's current structures - namely the the Aksa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock. The campaign's organizers chose to plaster the posters on buses whose routes take them through predominately Arab neighborhoods of east Jerusalem. With regards to the campaign, Volpo said Israel is waiting breathlessly for the coming of the messiah and the rebuilding of the temple. "The Arabs and President Obama know that the Temple will be built on the Temple Mount," he said. "Instead of the temporary buildings that are there today." Speaking to The Jerusalem Post on Sunday, Marzel said it was no mistake that the Islamic shrines were left out of the picture. "We're representing the truth, in front of everyone, and saying out loud what every Jew believes," Marzel said. "That the Third Temple needs to be built immediately on the Temple Mount and that the mosque should not be there." "When we reach the end of the Pessah Seder tomorrow night, he continued, "we'll say, 'Next year in a rebuilt Jerusalem.' What does 'rebuilt' mean? It means with the Third temple intact." Marzel brushed off the furor the ads might elicit from the capital's Muslims, saying, "It upsets them that we're alive, and that we're living here. "If such a basic point is going to piss them off, then we mine as well say what we truly believe and what we pray for three times a day. That is to rebuild the holy temple on top of the Temple Mount, and tomorrow - not to wait any longer." Unedited :: Link to Original Postinghttp://www.jpost.com/Israel/Article.aspx?ID=172008

Letter to the Prime Minister of Israel

MORIEL MINISTRIES - By James Jacob Prasch - March 18, 2010 The Content of this letter reflects the views of its author and not necessarily of Moriel apart from purely theological positions. Moriel is not a political agency and takes no partisan position in electoral politics.
TO: BENJAMIN NETANYAHU FROM: J. JACOB PRASCH Dear Mr. Prime Minister , As a Christian supporter of Israel I must protest your reaction to the response of the Obama Administration, particularly Vice President Biden, Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, and to George Mitchell. Why should an Israeli apologize for announcing the construction of 1,600 homes in Jerusalem anymore than an American politician should issue an apology of 1,600 homes in Washington D.C. or a British Prime Minister apologize for constructing apartment blocks in London? ... Keep not Thou silence O God ... Psalm 83 - The Soon Coming Fate of Israel's Near Neighbors Part 1
|
Pastor Bill Randles
 |
BELIEVERS IN GRACE MINISTRIES - By Pastor Bill Randles - February 24, 2010 Keep not Thou silence O God; hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God. For lo, thine enemies make a tumult; and they that hate Thee have lifted up the head. They have taken crafty counsel against Thy people, and consulted against Thy hidden ones. They have said, Come let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may no more be of remembrance. For they have consulted together with one consent; they are confederate against Thee: The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites of Moab, and the Hagarenes; Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek, the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre; Assur also is joined with them, they have helped the children of Lot... (Psalm 83:1-8)
It is an irony that when I became a Christian, in the late 1970's, the evangelical and Pentecostal world into which I was born again was gripped with the eschatological urgency. One of the best sellers was THE LATE GREAT PLANET EARTH, by Hal Lindsey. There was an evangelistic movie series called A THIEF IN THE NIGHT, about the rapture, and everyone was looking for the signs of the times in current events. And every once in a great while, perhaps every six months or so, an item in the news would send us all to our Bibles for corresponding scriptures. Here we are thirty years later, and now every single day, eschatological events are lining up for all to see. Geopolitical alignments right out of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel and Revelation, and yet the discernment of the significance of these events is rarely appreciated by the churches, teachers, leaders and congregations of evangelicalism. It's as if the fact that it didn't happen in 1988, 1994, and of course Y2K, left people feeling a little foolish and embarrassed for their late 1970's maranatha ardor. I dedicate this series of articles to the rekindling of that beautiful, passionate, holy longing for the return of the Savior, the Parousia* of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. One of the problems people have in recognizing the significance of the prophetic message has been that they don't often associate Biblical names for cities, peoples and kingdoms with the modern peoples and places. Once this key is given, one marvels at the detailed description given to us of the very times in which we live in, which are leading to a very real climax, the Apocalypse** of our Lord Jesus Christ to this world *(Parousia - Greek for actual bodily appearing)** (Apocalypse - Greek for revealing)A startling example of the current fulfillment of prophetic geopolitical alignment is Psalm 83. It is a desperate prayer to God by a besieged Israel, asking for a response, a declaration of war, for an action by God against an enemy alliance. All of Israel's ancient enemies have united against them in an unprecedented "evil alliance" which openly threatens to wipe out the name and existence of Israel. Evidently, unique circumstances have emboldened these enemies. We are told that "They have lifted up the head" in a heady confidence, "They have taken crafty council together against thy people", - Israel. They really feel their time has come. Historically this particular alliance has never occurred because there were too many competing interests dividing Israel's neighbors among themselves - but something has united them enough to transcend their petty differences. I believe that that unifying something is Islam. Who are these confederated enemies making such a tumult? The following is taken from Walid Shoebat's excellent book, GOD'S WAR ON TERROR - with my comments in italics. Edom - which extends from Jordan to Saudi Arabia (see Ezekiel 25 Edom is described as extending from Teman to Dedan (Arabia). Edom also refers to Esau, Jacob's twin brother, the Edomites are brother people to Israel, but they aren't very brotherly because they have nurtured an "everlasting Hatred" of Israel, as God describes in a personal word to them in Ezekiel 35. The Muslim Arab near neighbors of Israel, are not only physical descendants of Esau, but they have a spiritual affinity with him, hating Jacob for his birthright. Moab, Ammon, Children of Lot - Jordan. Moab and Ammon the incestuously conceived 'children of Lot' are also related to Israel. Lot was Abraham's nephew. They too have bought into the hatred, resentment and fear of Israel. Their descendants were the settlers of north and central Jordan. The city of Ammon is named for Ammon. Gebal - According to the Unger's bible dictionary, this is in Lebanon, 25 miles north of Beirut. Lebanon was at one time considered the only Christian country in the Middle East, until Syrian Baathists and Islamic marauders dismembered it, driving the Christians out and establishing an Islamic majority, in the late 1970's. Although there was a "Cedar Revolution" backed by the US in which the Syrians were forced to withdraw from Lebanon, this once beautiful Jewel of the Middle East is now becoming an Islamic pesthole. Tyre - Again in Lebanon, today this is a center for Hezbollah. Southern Lebanon had retained its Christian identity thanks to the Israeli invasion of 1982, but relentless political pressure forced the Jews to withdraw from it, and into the vacuum stepped Hezbollah, the Iranian backed Shiite "a team" of terrorism. Their latest claim to fame is the relentless showering of northern Israel with rockets. Philistia - Gaza, today the center for Hamas. Gaza, the southwest corner of Israel, and the site of the ancient Philistine stronghold has become, via world political pressure, a stronghold for the vicious terrorist group Hamas, and a seething cauldron of hatred, murder, and bitterness against Israel. It has also become a staging base for terrorist armies, bent on destroying Israel. Ishmaelites and Hagarites - Arabs in general. Hagar was the Egyptian handmaid to Sarai, Abraham's wife, and surrogate mother of Abraham's son Ishmael. The Muslims proclaim Ishmael as the chosen son of Abraham, and every year celebrate EID, in which they erroneously celebrate the so-called sacrifice of Ishmael. It is he, whom God told Abraham, would be a "wild ass of a man, whose hand would be against everyone, and everyone against him, and who would live against his brothers." A pretty apt description of the spirit of the Islamic Arab. When Sarai kicked Ishmael and Hagar out of the house, they too began to nourish the resilient "everlasting hatred". Assyria - These are Iraq, Syria, and Turkey. At its height it included Egypt and Iran as well. Assyria, the great empire, covered the areas now known as Iraq, parts of Syria, and Turkey. It is now united in Spirit by the religion of Islam. Amalek - Jordan, southwest of the Dead Sea ( Gen14:7). The Amalekites were the ones who waged a cowardly guerilla terror war against Israel in Exodus 17, killing the old, sick, infirm and also children. Amalek was a grandson of Esau, or Edom. These are the players of the next great war. They feel emboldened and have lofty ambitions. They aspire to annihilate God's chosen people, to reverse God's edict that brought Israel back to the land, they seek to take for themselves and in the name of their false god Allah, that which God, in grace has bequeathed to an admittedly undeserving people, Israel. It is a "battle of the gods" and it should get interesting. Psalm 83: Why Do They Make Such a Tumult? Part 2
|
BELIEVERS IN GRACE MINISTRIES - By Pastor Bill Randles - March 2, 2010
In our previous article, we looked at the question of the "who" of Psalm 83. Who are these
nations who make a tumult against the people of God, taking counsel together to
"cut them off from being a nation, that the nation of
Israel be remembered no more"? The modern day names for this
confederacy are those nations which surround the present day state of Israel -
Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, the Gaza Strip, Palestinians, and some from Iraq also "have
helped the children of Lot".
This is the situation we find ourselves in geopolitically
today. Israel's conflict with her immediate Arab, and largely Muslim, neighbors
has successfully engulfed the whole world into a "tumult". They
have formed a very real confederacy, The Organization of Islamic States, and
pooled their influence in world bodies such as the UN, as well as having
successfully leveraged their considerable oil influence, in order to
successfully isolate Israel, the only legitimate democracy in the Middle East.
Our purpose in this article is to explore the question, why?
Why do they make such a "tumult"? How is it that they cannot
simply make peace with Israel, accept them as a trading partner, and share in
the "blooming of the desert" miracle that Israel has been experiencing for
sixty plus years? Why hasn't the ceding of land brought any peace?
The Psalmist, being a prophet, agrees with the other Hebrew
prophets about the reasons for this hostility of Edom towards his brother
Israel. Ezekiel calls it "everlasting hatred" ...
"Moreover the Word of the Lord came to me saying, Son
of man, set your face against Mt Seir (Edom) and prophesy against it, saying to
it, Thus says the Lord God: 'Behold O mount Seir, I am against you, and make
you a desolation and a waste; I shall lay your cities waste, and you shall be
desolate. Then you shall know that I am the Lord. Because You have had an
everlasting hatred and have shed the blood of the children of Israel by the
power of the sword at the time of their calamity when their iniquity came to an
end." (Ezekiel 35:1-5)
This "everlasting hatred" is currently
embodied in Islam but is older than Islam. It goes back to Ishmael, Abraham's
eldest son, who was disenfranchised of his inheritance (in his own and his
mother Hagar's mind) by the birth and election of Isaac. "In Isaac shall
thy seed be called...". Far from a mere Sunday school lesson, this
division between the child of the handmaid and the chosen seed of Abraham is
directly relevant to at least a third of everyone now living!
Muslims (one out of seven people in the world) believe that
Ishmael was the chosen seed of Abraham, and celebrate the feast of EID to
commemorate their version of the Abraham story, the sacrifice of Ishmael. As
Ishmael was supposedly disenfranchised by Sarai and Abraham, being evicted from
Abraham's tent, so the Arab Muslim world nurtures that same sense of resentful
disenfranchisement, focusing their resentment on Jews and Christians.
The story of Esau and Jacob also feeds into the very real "everlasting
hatred". God chose Jacob, not Esau to be the carrier of the Abrahamic
blessing. But Isaac chose Esau, his favorite of the twins. Esau burned with
rage when he perceived that Jacob had tricked Isaac into blessing him with
Esau's birthright! To this day Esau's descendants seethe at the Jews, believing
that they are cheating supplanters, usurping Edom's birthright! Isaac did bless
Esau with a very dubious blessing that is prophetic.
"Behold your dwelling shall be of the fertility of
the land, and of the dew of heaven above. By your sword you shall live, and you
shall serve your brother; And it will come to pass, when you become restless
that you shall break his yoke from your neck." (Gen 27:39-40)
Esau would indeed live off of the land. He would also be
'blessed' by having to 'live by the sword'. Furthermore, by God's election,
proud Esau would have to serve his brother, Jacob. As Rebecca, Isaac's wife
found out, "the elder would serve the younger..."(Genesis 25:23).
Isaac prophesied also that in the last days Esau would become restless and
throw off the yoke of his brother. Is this part of what we are seeing here?
For Ishmael, Esau and their seed, salvation would be
dependent upon being 'yoked', taking on the religion of Abraham, Isaac, and
Jacob. The emergence of Islam, in the seventh century, amounted to a "shaking
off" of the yoke of any Judeo Christianity ever accepted by the seed of Ishmael
and Esau, ie: the Arab Middle East. Islam is the current custodian of the
everlasting hatred of Israel, inflaming the passions of the already miserable
masses of repressed, unemployed and frustrated of the so called 'Arab street'.
Time and again at critical periods of Jewish history, the
Edomites have handed their Jewish brothers over to be enslaved. They cheered
when the temples were destroyed, they aided and abetted those who enslaved,
raped, and slaughtered the Jewish people.
"Because you have had an everlasting hatred and have
shed the blood of the children of Israel by the power of the sword at the time
of their calamity....therefore as I live says the Lord God, I will prepare you
for blood, and blood shall pursue you since you have not hated blood, therefore
blood shall pursue you..." (Ezekiel 35 :5-6)
I am reminded of the constant taunt that modern Edomites
make to those affected by the Judeo Christian reverence for life, "You love
life but we love death!". I am also reminded of a Time magazine cover a few
years back, in which a so called "Palestinian" leans out of an upper floor
window showing off his blood soaked hands to a raving, cheering mob of
Edomites, having just participated in a double murder of two unfortunate newly
immigrated Russian Jews who had made a wrong turn into a "Palestinian" section
of the city.
"Therefore as I live saith the Lord God, I will do
according to the envy which you have showed in your hatred against them; and I
will make myself known among them when I judge you. Then you will know that I
am the Lord. I have heard all your blasphemies which you have spoken against
the mountains of Israel (Judea, the west bank), saying they are desolate; they
are given to us to consume thus with your mouth you have boasted against Me and
multiplied your words against Me, I have heard them." (Ezekiel 35:11-13)
Right up to modern times, the children of Esau, Ishmael, and
Lot - long since intermarried and dissolved into one another culturally and
religiously by Islam - have sought to destroy the Jews. Hitler was an admirer
of Islam, and modern Islam repays the adulation.
This comes to a head in the last days, this "everlasting
hatred" has to be expressed, it seeks to be sated in the utter
destruction of the Jewish state. Esau has a birthright that is 40 times the
land area of that allotted to Israel, but is unsatisfied, craving Jacob's
birthright. This is what leads us to the next great disastrous Arab war with
Israel.
"For violence against your
brother Jacob, shame shall cover you, and you shall be cut off forever. In the
day that you stood on the other side. In the day that strangers carried captive
his forces...and cast lots for Jerusalem - even you were as one of them. But you
should not have gazed on the day of your brother, in the day of his captivity;
nor should you have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their
destruction; nor should you have spoken proudly in the day of their
distress...You should not have stood at the crossroads to cut off those among
them who have escaped nor should you have up those among
you who remained in the day of
distress." (Obadiah 10-14)

Psalm 83: What the Answer Will Look Like Part 3
|
BELIEVERS IN GRACE MINISTRIES - By Pastor Bill Randles - February 24, 2010
" Deal with them as you did with Midian, with Sisera,
with Jabin, at the brook Kishon-who were destroyed at Endor, who became dung
for the field. Treat their great men like Oreb and Zeev, all their princes like
Zeba and Zalmuna...cover their faces with shame so that they may seek Your name,
O Lord." (Psalm 83:10-14)
Because we believe that the Psalms are God given expressions
of the hopes, aspirations, prayers and worship of Israel, and particularly of
Israel's Messiah, we believe that these prayers are as sure to be answered by
God as any other promise or prophecy of scripture. "The word of the Lord
is sure, enduring forever." (Psalm 19)
Therefore the fate of Israel's near neighbors is grim. God
himself has inspired the requests of this desperate plea for deliverance, and
shall surely answer these cries in due time. Just what exactly would such
answers look like?
"Deal with them as you did with
Midian, Sisera, as to Jabin at the brook Kishon"-
The Psalmist was led to pray for a repeat of the battle
recorded in Judges 4 and 5 in which God used women in prominent roles to lead
Israel's hosts to destroy an Arab multitude. Deborah the prophetess mobilized
the ragtag army of Israel after 20 years of oppression, and received the word
of the Lord, a battle plan to overcome the advantage the Arabs had in superior
armor (900 chariots). They were to be drawn into the swollen, flooded plain of
the Kishon brook, thus nullifying the chariot mobility.
When Sisera, the enemy commander fled on foot to save his
very life, he was drawn into the tent of the wife of an ally - Jael - who gave
the exhausted general warm milk, putting him to sleep. She then took a tent
stake and a mallet and drove it through his head!
"Blessed above women shall Jael the wife of Heber be,
blessed shall she be above women in the tent. He asked water, and she gave him
milk, she brought forth butter in a lordly dish. She put her hand to the nail,
and her right hand to the workman's hammer and with the hammer she smote
Sisera, she smote off his head, when she had pierced and stricken through his
temples." (Judges 5:24-26)
Somehow this story is re-capitulated. In fact this is the
oldest story of all, Deborah and Jael's story is an echo of the primal promise
- the seed of the woman, the serpent crusher. Jael is given a similar blessing
to Mary - "blessed are thee among women".
"And I will put enmity between thee and the woman,
and between thy seed and her seed, He shall bruise thy head and thou shalt
bruise His heel." (Genesis 3:15)
There is no doubt that the confederacy formed against Israel
is Satanic, and the prayer is that Israel would, like Deborah and Jael, be
empowered to crush the serpent's head.
"Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb - their princes
like Zeba and Zalmuna." (Psalm 83:11)
This reference is to a later oppression of Israel by their
Midianite (Arab) neighbors. God raised up Gideon to be a judge and a savior to
them. After reducing the army of his people to a mere 300 chosen men, the
innumerable hosts of the Arabs were utterly routed, chased out of the Holy Land
and scattered! Their leaders Oreb and Seeb (Raven and Wolf) were beheaded.*
Of particular interest is the fate of the princes Zeba and
Zalmuna. These princes were captured and presented to Gideon, who personally slew
them. Afterwords the word of God tells us that Gideon then -
"Took away the crescent shaped ornaments that were on
the camels' necks." (Judges 8:21)
The crescent moon was the symbol of the pagan god Sin, who
later was known as Bel, then Habul, the Nabatean moon god who eventually
morphed into Allah. The prayer is specific, "...do unto them as you did
unto Zeba and Zalmuna..." it involves the crescent symbol and the
destruction of the princes who have conspired against God's "hidden
ones" (Psalm 83:3).
Because the confederacy arrogates to themselves that which
God gave to Israel, God is asked to make them "as the stubble before the
wind"-
"Who said let us take the houses** of God as our
possession, O my God, make them like a wheel *** as the stubble before the
wind. As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on
fire." (Psalm 83:13-14)
A horrible destruction is coming to the Arab world, when he
says it will "set the mountains on fire" this is a reference to
all of the governments of the earth, which will be sucked into this conflict.
The destruction coming will involve the obliteration of Damascus (Isaiah 17),
the cities of the east side of the Jordan River (Jeremiah 49), Egypt (Isaiah
19), and ultimately all nations (Joel 3:1-3).
The answer to these pleadings will provoke a conflict that
will eventually lead to the near destruction of Jerusalem itself, which will be
the final outrage which will bring the actual bodily return of the Lord's
Messiah -
"Behold the day of the Lord cometh, and thy spoil
shall be divided in the midst of thee, For I will gather all nations against
Jerusalem to battle, and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled: and
the women ravished; and half the city shall go forth into captivity, and the rest
of the people shall not be cut off from the city. Then shall the Lord go forth,
and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle and his
feet shall stand on the mount of Olives..." (Zechariah 14:1-3)
The embattled Israel pleads with Jahweh to utterly shame
those who unite against her very existence. Twice he prays that they be
shamed...which is interesting because the Arab Islamic culture is a shame based
society, and perhaps as the cartoon fiasco has shown us there is nothing they
fear more than being shamed.
"Cover their faces with shame, that they may seek thy
name, O Lord, let them be confounded and troubled forever; yea let them be put
to shame, and perish..." (Psalm 83:17)
Twice he prays about shaming the enemy, but perhaps there is
a glimmer of hope in one of these imprecations. When he prays the first time
for shame - it is that even they may "seek thy name"- in other
words he is actually praying for their conviction and repentance unto
salvation! I believe millions who are now trapped in Islam's dungeon, will be
liberated and saved unto God by Jesus Christ!
But the second time he prays for shame is grim, "Let
them be confounded and troubled forever, let them be put to shame and perish."
For those who are set in their ways, confirmed in the "everlasting
hatred", sold out to the moon god, seeking the glory of Allah and the
72 virgins, nothing awaits but the terror of "everlasting shame and
contempt" (Daniel 12:1-2) in God's lake of fire.
As for the Jews and the Muslim world, so it is for the whole
world, that by Israel's next, dreadful war, all of the world will be brought to
a choice - neutrality will not be an option. By this fulfillment of His
prophetic word God is calling all men everywhere to repentance, this is brought
out in the last verse of this Psalm-
"That Men may know that You, whose name alone is
Jahweh are the most high over all the earth." (Psalm 83:18)
*Head wounds in the Bible are usually reminders of Genesis 3:15
** Literally "the pastures of God"- the land flowing with
milk and honey
***Literally "Like the thistledown"

Barack Hussein Obama vs Israel

SULTAN KNISH - By Daniel Greenfield - March 14, 2010
The manifold organs of the ObamaMedia are abuzz with outrage
over what they are calling Israel's "insult" to the United States.
But what was the nature of this awful and outrageous insult? Did Israeli
officials pull off V.P. Biden's rug to show off his bald head underneath. Did
they ask him why the suit of his pants is so shiny. Did they make him sit at
the kiddie table?
More to the point did Israeli TV air calls for a Jihad
against America, as Palestinian Arab TV did? Did Israel name a square after the
murderer of an American photographer, as the Palestinian Authority did? Did an
Israeli Anchorman do a skit in blackface during Obama's visit, as a Turkish
anchorman did during Obama's visit to Turkey? Are Israeli religious
institutions issuing Fatwahs against America, as Al Azhar University, which
Obama visited and spoke at, has done? Are Israeli leaders funding terrorism
against America, as the Saudi King, before whom Obama bowed, does?
No, none of those incidents were described as insults. Nothing that Muslim
countries did to mock, humiliate and murder Americans were even noticed at all.
None of them produced furious condemnations from the White House or two hours
of Hillary Clinton screeching on the phone at Prime Minister Benjamin
Netanyahu. So what did Israel do that was so awful, so horrible and terrible?
It built houses. Yes, civilian houses. Not army bases or nuclear missiles or
walls. Houses.
Israel approved a construction project to build housing for its own people, in
its own capitol city, Jerusalem. Some of the housing will be built in the Shimon HaTzadik neighborhood, situated around the grave of Shimon the Righteous, a
Jewish religious figure famed for rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem. A
neighborhood where Jews have lived for over a century. As well as Ramat Shlomo, a thriving
neighborhood with thousands of Jewish families living in it.
The Obama Administration's objections to Jews living in Jerusalem are purely
racial and religious. If Israel were approving a construction project to build
housing for Arab Muslim citizens of Israel, Biden, Hillary and their media
troupe wouldn't be screeching about it to the high heavens. It is only because
Jews are to live there, that they have a problem with it. Their objections
therefore are purely based on race and religion-- and completely racist.
But this is hardly the first time that Muslims and their Western appeasers have
tried to drive the Jews out of Jerusalem, or the Shimon HaTzaddik neighborhood
in particular.
In 1876 the land was purchased by the Jewish community in order to build homes
for poor Jews. In 1936, after the death of Sheikh Izz ad-Din al-Qassam (one of
the inspirations for Hamas) and the Mufti of Jerusalem (who would go on to
collaborate on the Holocaust with Adolf Hitler), Arab rioters drove the Jews
out of the neighborhood with cries of Ibtach Al Yahood (kill the Jews). Over 500 Jews were murdered during this time. Many more fled their homes ahead of the enraged
Islamic mobs.
The following was a sample of some of the Arab Muslim brutality toward the Jews at the time.
Alex Morrison, a British
truck driver sympathetic to the Arab cause wrote, "They left behind them
one of the worst sights I ever saw in my life... The naked bodies of the women
exposed the evidence that the knives had been used in the most ghastly
fashion." The bodies of children, apparently set alight with gasoline in a
nursery, were still smoldering."
The Arab Muslim atrocities were successful not at intimidating the Jews, who
slowly began to return, but at intimidating the British who enacted the White
Paper, and closed the doors to Jewish immigration resulting in countless
numbers of Jews dead during the Holocaust. A Holocaust which involved the
participation of the same Mufti of Jerusalem who organized the riots. Which in
turn had been partially funded by Nazi Germany.
In 1947 the Arab Muslim forces again came for the Jews. The Jewish residents of
the Shimon HaTzadik neighborhood, accompanied by militia, fought them back with the few weapons they had. And then came the British colonial
authorities and disarmed the Jews. And when the Arab forces came again, they
had no weapons to fight with. And they fled.
The fall of the area cut off Hadassah Hospital
from the rest of Jerusalem. A convoy of 79 doctors, nurses and patients to the
hospital were massacred by Arab forces. They included a world renowned ophthalmologist,
Chaim Yassky and his wife Fanny. Esther Fassman, the American director of
social services at the hospital's Cancer Institute, carrying candy and
magazines for her patients. And a man who had been riding along to reach his
wife who had just given a birth. He never reached her.
The Jordanian Legion seized all of East Jerusalem, and drove out the remaining
Jews living there. Synagogues were destroyed, others were turned into latrines.
The tombstones from Jewish cemeteries were used as paving stones for the Arab
Muslim occupation forces. The Shimon HaTzadik neighborhood though held the
tragic distinction of being the first part of Jerusalem
to have its Jewish population driven out.
The houses that the Jews had been driven out of were occupied by Arab Settlers
in an East Jerusalem rendered empty of Jews. The great dream of the Mufti of
Jerusalem, and every Islamic cleric and terrorist, who had urged the murder of
Jews in order to build a pure Islamic Arab Palestine was fulfilled. The Shimon
HaTzaddik neighborhood was seemingly no more. Only the Sheikh Jarrah
neighborhood remained. Half of the historic Jewish capital was Judenrein.
In 1967, Jerusalem was liberated and reunited once again. But the victorious
Jewish army did not drive out the Arab squatters. Instead in 1972 it restored
the land in the Shimon HaTzaddik neighborhood to the communal organizations
which had owned it allowed them to remain on the condition that they paid rent.
Those who refused, were evicted. Slowly Jews began to return to their old
neighborhood again. A school opened and a normal semblance of life with it.
However the US State Department and European government have continued fighting
the Jewish presence in Jerusalem, demanding that it be restored to its former
Judenrein status.
Over and over again, the diplomats have taken the side of the Arab squatters
who stole the homes of the Jewish families living there, until Arab mobs and
armies drove them out. Even when Jewish residents bought the land from those squatters, insuring the absolute legality of their
ownership from any and every angle, their rights to live there have been
denied. And those demanding an Apartheid Jerusalem, reserved for Arabs alone,
have continued spewing lies and distorting the truth by claiming that Jews
never lived in the Shimon HaTzaddik neighborhood. That the only reason Jews
live there now is out of spite (this in a city where spiraling real estate
prices and crowded conditions have made apartments incredibly difficult to find.) And finally that the only
reason that a housing project that has been in the works for over a decade was
approved-- was in order to insult Joseph Robinette Biden... and through him
America.
And then there was the Ramat Shlomo
construction project. Supposedly the straw that broke the "camel's"
back. Ramat Shlomo is and has been a Jewish neighborhood for some time now.
There are thousands of families living in it. The 1600 additional units are not
being built on inhabited land. Nor was the land ever supposed to be turned over
to the Palestinian Authority in any conceivable settlement. In fact during the previous round of negotiations,
even the PA had conceded Ramat Shlomo.
Let me be very clear then. The building of houses for Jewish
families in a neighborhood where Jews have lived for 134 years is not an
insult. A housing project that has been in the works for over a decade was not
a secret conspiracy to humiliate the idiot Vice President on his visit there.
It is of course an insult, but not to America. Only to Islam.
American diplomats have not usually described Israeli policies they dislike as
an "insult"-- that is a term much more commonly used by Muslims, who
are obsessed with perceived slights to their honor. Complaints over an
"insult" is a common feature of Honor-Shame societies. America is not
an honor-shame society. However the White House is currently occupied by a man
bred in an honor-shame society. It is Obama that feels "insulted" by
Israel, both out of the sensitivity of his Muslim heritage and his own egotism,
which regularly motivates him to humiliate Republicans, while triumphantly
celebrating his own greatness.
It is natural enough for Barack Hussein Obama to rely on such cheap honor-shame
gambits. They are what he grew up with. And it is natural enough for him to
keenly feel the loss of face of Muslims. After all his father's family was
Muslim. And Muslims are keenly "insulted" when they conquer territory
and then cannot hold it. Whether that territory is in Jerusalem, Israel or
Spain or India. They cannot stand to suffer the loss of face. And neither can
Obama.
Had there been a Jewish or part-Jewish President in the White House, the media
would be raising the question of whether he is showing favoritism toward
Israel. A question that has been repeatedly raised regarding Joseph Lieberman.
A question that was raised regarding Goldwater, who was a practicing Christian.
But the media refuses to allow the question to be raised of whether Obama is
favoring Muslims because of his own Muslim background and family ties. Instead
the media brands any such questions as racist, and instead spearheads the
administration's campaign against Israel.
So directed out of the White House, a media firestorm howls enraged at Israel
for presuming to allow Jews to live in a neighborhood where they had lived for
a 134 years. The outrage. The offense. Heads must roll for this. Panicked,
Netanyahu has already rushed to appease Der Fuhrer, suspending all home development anywhere in Jerusalem. Netanyahu has
already apologized for building homes for his own citizens in his own country,
but that of course is not enough. It's never enough.
David Axelrod huffed, "This was an affront, it was an insult."
Hillary Clinton, Suha Arafat's former kissyface partner, called Netanyahu to
berate him. And then did it again in the round of interviews, proclaiming, "It
was insulting. And-- it was insulting not just to the vice president, who--
certainly didn't deserve that-- But it was an insult to the United States."
Biden added his own voice. So did a bevy of underlines. Israel's ambassador was
summoned to be yelled at by the Deputy Secretary of State.
In his visit Biden had repeatedly insulted his Israeli hosts. First he brought
along Chris Matthews who accused Israelis of disliking Obama because they're
racists. He arrived an hour and a half late to a ceremonial dinner. In other words he acted like every bit of the predictable buffoon that he is. Which is also
not surprising given his history of hostility to Israel going back decades.
But none of that really matters. The bottom line is that the Obama
Administration has been wanting to pick a fight with Israel for some time
now... while pretending to be the victims. Much like the way Germany faked a
Polish attack as a pretext for invading Poland, Barack Hussein Obama needed a
pretext for waging his own political Jihad against Israel. All the while
whining about how badly the Israelis have insulted him.
If it hadn't been Shimon HaTzaddik or Ramat Shlomo, some other pretext would
have been found. Sooner or later, some visiting dignitary would have been
offended by Israelis going on with their lives. Resulting in just this kind of
cynical tantrum designed to win over Muslims and further degrade Israel's
abilities to defend itself. The entire incident staged in keeping with the
Honor-Shame background of the man in the White House.
Meanwhile in Jerusalem, Jews were celebrating
the rebuilding of the Hurva Synagogue. Built in the 1700's, the synagogue had been demolished twice by Arab Muslims. The
second time in 1948 by the Jordanian Legion, in order to insure that Jews would
never return to East Jerusalem. They were wrong then, as Obama is wrong now.
The plans of Muslims to banish Jews from their historic capitol are both
immoral and racist.
Meanwhile the PA's Jerusalem minister, Khatem Abd el-Kader, condemned the
renovation of the Hurva Synagogue, warning Israel
that it was "playing with fire" and urged Muslim Arabs to
"protect" the Al Aqsa Mosque. Naturally of course the riots are of
course already on the way. An echo of the riots that drove Jews out of
Jerusalem in the 1930's. Then the rioters had shouted, "Itbach-al
Yahud" and "Addowlah ma'anah". Kill the Jews, and The Government
is With Us. Except the government they mean now is not the British colonial
authorities, but the administration of Barack Hussein Obama.

Losing Faith in the Messiah Obama Unites Israelis and Arabs in Disappointment DER SPIEGEL [BMG: Bertelsmann Media Group/Gruner & Jahr Magazines] - By Gregor Peter Schmitz, Christoph Schult and Bernhard Zand - March 15, 2010 Hopes were high in the Middle East when US President Barack Obama took office last year. But instead of progress toward peace, he has shown indecision and hesitancy. With many in the region united against Iran, he is in danger of letting a golden opportunity slip through his fingers. US President Barack Obama glided off the stage to thunderous applause. He had just given a speech that commentators around the world, particularly those in the Muslim world, would characterize within minutes as "historic." "The situation for the Palestinian people is intolerable," he said, and promised to "personally pursue" the establishment of a Palestinian state. Then the president left the great hall of Cairo University and entered a smaller room, where seven journalists had gathered: five Muslims, a Christian and a Jew. Speaking to the men and women from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Israel and Malaysia, Obama demonstratively praised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: "A very intelligent man, who's easy to talk to. He has a real sense of history. I believe that Netanyahu has recognized the strategic necessity of achieving peace in the Middle East." As the Israeli reporter, Nachum Barnea, recalls, Obama was "like a teacher, full of knowledge and persuasiveness." Eight months later, the president was forced to admit that he had not even come close to reaching the goal he had set for himself. "We overestimated our ability to persuade [both sides] to [negotiate]," he told Time reporter Joe Klein in the White House Oval Office in January. "If we had anticipated some of these political problems on both sides earlier, we might not have raised expectations as high." It was an astonishing admission. Never before had a US president enjoyed such trust in the Middle East -- and gambled it away in such a short time. Obama has vacillated to an extent that has confused friend and foe alike, even baffling veteran observers of the region. ...

Average Americans' words harsh for Obama Fourteen percent went so far as to
agree that Mr. Obama "may be the anti-Christ" THE WASHINGTON TIMES [News World Communications/Moon-Unification Church] - By Jennifer Harper - March 25, 2010 Certain robust public perceptions about President Obama have surfaced among average citizens rather than so-called "wingnuts" and "lunatic fringe." A Harris Poll released Wednesday found that 40 percent of Americans say Mr. Obama is a socialist, a third think he's a Muslim, a quarter think he was not even born in the U.S., is not eligible to be president and is a "domestic enemy that the U.S. Constitution speaks of." The pollster asked provocative questions indeed, with equally provocative findings. Among other things, the poll also found that three-out-of-10 Americans think Mr. Obama "wants to turn over the sovereignty of the U.S. to a one-world government." About an equal number - 29 percent - said he had "done many things that are unconstitutional" while 27 percent said "he resents America's heritage." Between 20 percent and 23 percent said Mr. Obama is "a racist," "anti-American" and "is doing many of the things that Hitler did." Fourteen percent went so far as to agree that Mr. Obama "may be the anti-Christ" while 13 percent said "he wants the terrorists to win." Predictably, there was a huge partisan divide. For example, 67 percent of both Republicans and conservatives said Mr. Obama was a socialist, compared with 14 percent of Democrats and 15 percent of liberals.

Obama's Landscape of Anti-Semitism
|
FRONTPAGE MAGAZINE - By Jamie Glazov - December 8, 2009Frontpage Interview's guest today is Pamela Geller, founder, editor and publisher of the popular and award-winning weblog AtlasShrugs.com. She has won acclaim for her interviews with internationally renowned figures, including John Bolton, Geert Wilders, Bat Ye'or, Natan Sharansky, and many others, and has broken numerous important stories - notably the questionable sources of some of the financing of the Obama campaign. Her op-eds have been published in The Washington Times, The American Thinker, Israel National News, Frontpage Magazine, World Net Daily, and New Media Journal, among other publications. She is the co-author (with Robert Spencer) of the soon to be released, The Post-American Presidency: The Obama Administration's War on America [1] (forward by Ambassador John Bolton). FP: Pamela Geller, welcome back to Frontpage Interview. I would like to talk to you today about Obama, his administration and anti-Semitism. Let's begin with Obama's anti-Israel policies, your thoughts on them and what you think explains them. Tie this into the role of his friends and advisers. Geller: Obama had a disturbing track record from the beginning. The Obama landscape, the landscape of his personal and professional associations, is littered with anti-Semites and rife with Israel haters. Only three weeks after Barack Hussein Obama took office, Israeli pundit Caroline Glick noted that "since it came into office a month ago, every single Middle East policy the Obama administration has announced has been antithetical to Israel's national security interests." Obama in April 2009 asked Congress to revise American laws preventing financial aid to terrorist organizations so that the United States could keep funding the Palestinian Authority even with Hamas as part of the government. Then in May 2009 came the revelation that the United States and allied military, under the command of Lt. Keith Dayton, was training 1,500 Palestinian troops. Would American-trained Palestinian troops one day go into battle against the forces of American ally Israel? It was possible. On September 23, 2009, Barack Obama made a speech at the UN that former UN Ambassador John Bolton called "the most radical anti-Israel speech I can recall any president making." Obama was the most anti-Israel President the United States had had since the State of Israel was formed. Yet American Jews voted in large numbers for this man. They should have known better. FP: Tell us about some of Obama's advisers in this context. Geller: Well, let's begin with one Obama foreign policy adviser, Samantha Power, who, in a 2002 interview with Harry Kreisler of the Institute for International Studies at Berkeley, called for military action against Israel to secure the creation of a Palestinian state. Power said that establishing a Palestinian state would mean "sacrificing - or investing, I think, more than sacrificing - billions of dollars, not in servicing Israel's military, but actually investing in the new state of Palestine, in investing the billions of dollars it would probably take, also, to support what will have to be a mammoth protection force, not of the old Rwanda kind, but a meaningful military presence." She said that this would "require external intervention." Many observers quite reasonably concluded that in this Power meant that the United States should invade Israel in order to secure the creation and protection of a Palestinian state. Confronted about this during the Obama presidential campaign, Power made no attempt to explain or excuse her statement: "Even I don't understand it...This makes no sense to me....The quote seems so weird." She assured supporters of Israel that she did not believe in "imposing a settlement." But Power was not alone. The anti-Israel statements of Robert Malley, whom Obama tabbed for an important mission right after he was elected President, were even worse than Power's. Early on in his campaign, Obama named Robert Malley one of his primary foreign policy advisers - to the immediate consternation of Israeli officials. One Israeli security official noted in February 2008: "We are noting with concern some of Obama's picks as advisers, particularly Robert Malley, who has expressed sympathy to Hamas and Hizbullah and offered accounts of Israeli-Palestinian negotiations that don't jibe with the facts." Once Obama was elected President, he sent Malley to Egypt and Syria. "The tenor of the messages," explained an aide to Malley, "was that the Obama administration would take into greater account Egyptian and Syrian interests." Malley had nothing on Zbigniew Brzezinski, the National Security Adviser during the Carter Administration. Obama consulted Brzezinski for advice during his campaign, calling the octogenarian Brzezinski "one of our most outstanding scholars and thinkers" and saying that he was "someone I have learned an immense amount from." Bizarrely, Brzezinski called for the United States to protect Iran from an Israeli strike against Iranian nuclear facilities. "We are not exactly impotent little babies," he declared in a September 2009 interview. If the Israelis struck Iran, he said, "they have to fly over our airspace in Iraq. Are we just going to sit there and watch?" Brzezinski advocated military action against Israel to stop it from striking Iran: "If they fly over, you go up and confront them. They have the choice of turning back or not." Brzezinski holds no official position in the Obama Administration. But Rosa Brooks does: she is an advisor to the undersecretary of Defense for policy. Brooks is venomously anti-Israel. During Israel's defensive action in Gaza in January 2009, Brooks wrote an op-ed in the Times entitled, "Israel can't bomb its way to peace." Stephen A. Silver of the media watchdog Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America pointed out that while Brooks gave the number of Palestinian casualties in this conflict, she didn't mention that most of these were combatants, not innocent civilians. "She also takes no interest," noted Silver, "in the fact that Hamas fires missiles at Israeli civilians from the midst of Palestinian population centers - a double war crime specifically intended by Hamas to manufacture Palestinian civilian casualties for public relations purposes whenever Israel tries to defend itself from Hamas terror." Former Senator Chuck Hagel (R-NE) would probably have agreed with Brooks. According to the Jerusalem Post, he was "one of a handful of senators who frequently didn't sign AIPAC-backed letters related to Israel and the peace process during his time in the Senate and opposed additional sanctions on Iran." In the Senate he amassed a significant track record as one of a hardline hater of Israel who would not affix his name even to the most innocuous pro-Israel initiative. In late October 2009 Obama appointed Hagel co-chair of his Intelligence Advisory Board. These were Barack Hussein Obama's closest advisers. And the effect of all this showed in his policies, beginning almost immediately when he took office. FP: What explains this hatred of Israel in Obama's administration? What is it that is motivating Obama and these anti-Semites around him? Geller: Obama's anti-Semitic associations go all the way back to the beginning of his career: the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, who worked with Louis Farrakhan and gave him an award from Trinity United Church of Christ; Bill Ayers, whose Communist rhetoric from the 1960s - the Weather Underground manifesto Prairie Fire - was full of anti-Semitic attacks on Israel; and others. Israel has always been an ally of the United States and was an enemy of the Soviet Union and socialist internationalists. Barack Obama is a socialist internationalist, as are the people he has surrounded himself with. It's no surprise in light of that that his administration would be so anti-Israel. Little attention is paid to Obama's childhood study of Islam and his Koranic studies in Indonesia. Knowing what we know about Islamic anti-Semitism and Jew-hatred in the Koran, it may have been a powerful influence on Obama's attitudes towards the Jewish homeland. ... "Change You Can Believe In" in Hebrew | Binyamin Netanyahu humiliated after Barack Obama 'dumped him for dinner' THE TIMES of LONDON [News Corporation/Murdoch] - By Giles Whittell, Washington, and James Hider, Jerusalem - March 26, 2010 For a head of government to visit the White House and not pose for photographers is rare. For a key ally to be left to his own devices while the President withdraws to have dinner in private was, until this week, unheard of. Yet that is how Binyamin Netanyahu was treated by President Obama on Tuesday night, according to Israeli reports on a trip viewed in Jerusalem as a humiliation. After failing to extract a written promise of concessions on settlements, Mr Obama walked out of his meeting with Mr Netanyahu but invited him to stay at the White House, consult with advisers and "let me know if there is anything new", a US congressman, who spoke to the Prime Minister, said. "It was awful," the congressman said. One Israeli newspaper called the meeting "a hazing in stages", poisoned by such mistrust that the Israeli delegation eventually left rather than risk being eavesdropped on a White House telephone line. Another said that the Prime Minister had received "the treatment reserved for the President of Equatorial Guinea". ... Newspaper reports recounted how Mr Netanyahu looked "excessively concerned and upset" when he pulled out a flow chart to show Mr Obama how Jerusalem planning permission worked and how he could not have known that the announcement that hundreds more homes were to be built would be made when Mr Biden arrived in Jerusalem. Mr Obama then suggested that Mr Netanyahu and his staff stay at the White House to consider his proposals so that if he changed his mind he could inform the President right away. "I'm still around," the daily newspaper Yediot Aharonot quoted Mr Obama as saying. "Let me know if there is anything new." With the atmosphere so soured by the end of the evening, the Israelis decided that they could not trust the telephone line they had been lent for their consultations. Mr Netanyahu and Ehud Barak, his Defence Minister, went to the Israeli Embassy to ensure that the Americans were not listening in. ...

Americans condemn Obama's rudeness, reach out to Israel Thousands of flowers send message: 'Be encouraged, we stand with you' WORLDNETDAILY - By Drew Zahn - March 27, 2010 Shocked by what some news reports are calling President Obama's "ambush" and "humiliation" of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington, D.C., a group of Americans are doing an end around the increasingly hostile White House and reaching out directly to the Israeli leader. Earlier this week, Obama walked out of a meeting with Netanyahu at the White House, inviting the Israeli leader to remain alone and reconsider his negotiation stance ... or get out. "I'm still around," the daily newspaper Yediot Aharonot quoted Obama as saying, before walking out on the stunned Netanyahu. "Let me know if there is anything new." WND columnist Janet Porter of Faith2Action was among those aghast at the president's actions. "While President Obama hugs dictators and smiles for photo-ops with enemies of freedom around the world, I was appalled at how he treated Prime Minister Netanyahu - our best friend in the Middle East," said Porter in a statement. Consequently, Porter's organization has acted to assure the Israeli government that any perceived animosity from the Obama White House does not represent the feelings of all Americans. ...

Netanyahu's Brother-in-Law: Obama's an Anti-Semite ARUTZ SHEVA (Israeli National News) - By Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu - March 17, 2010 Dr. Hagi Ben-Artzi, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's brother-in-law, labeled U.S. President Barack Obama an anti-Semite in two radio interviews Wednesday. The Prime Minister immediately disassociated himself from his remarks and outright rejected them. "The time has come to tell the truth." Dr. Ben-Artzi told Arutz-7 radio (Hebrew). "I understand the Prime Minister's reaction to me, but the truth must be told. Obama is an anti-Semite." He said that Israel is dealing with "a president who was educated by anti-Semitic preacher Jeremiah Wright." ...

US Lawmakers Stand Up Against Obama for Israel ARUTZ SHEVA (Israeli National News) - By Hana Levi Julian - March 18, 2010 U.S. Congressional lawmakers have flooded the White House and the media with letters and news releases complaining about the Obama administration's unprecedented scolding of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. This, following an Israeli announcement last week that a routine housing project was proceeding apace in eastern Jerusalem. Politicians from across the political spectrum called on President Barack Obama and his aides to tone down their attacks on Israel and start using a more even-handed approach when dealing with the Palestinian Authority. Many pointed out the lopsided double standard used by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vice President Joseph Biden in harshly condemning Israel's routine announcement of a zoning approval for new housing in the Ramat Shlomo neighborhood in northwestern (mistakenly called east by most of the media) Jerusalem - a three-year-old project. ...

Obama Anti-Semitism 'Czar' Slammed for Criticizing Israel's Oren ARUTZ SHEVA (Israeli National News) - By Gil Ronen - January 12, 2010 The American Israeli Action Coalition (AIAC) today heavily criticized President Barack Obama's anti-Semitism "czar", Hannah Rosenthal, for her public criticism of Israel's Ambassador to the U.S., Michael Oren, and called for her immediate dismissal from her post. ... According to AIAC, Rosenthal was a member of J Street's advisory panel before her appointment to her current position. J Street, it adds, "is a radical, far left, anti-Israel, American organization funded by Arab and radical sources" which "has been almost universally condemned by mainstream Jewish organizations." ... "Even more deplorable is the Obama administration's public slap at Israel, utilizing Rosenthal as its mouthpiece," Schwartz continued. "When coupled with the Obama administration's numerous other slaps at Israel, including its almost hysterical non-recognition of Israel's inalienable right to build civilian homes in its Jerusalem capital and Senator Mitchell's recent public threat to withdraw U.S. loan guarantees from Israel, while at the same time saying and doing nothing to the Palestinians to 'encourage' them to return to the peace talks, the Obama administration has laid bare its anti-Israel focus and has proven itself to no longer be 'an honest broker for peace.' The more than 250,000 Americans living in Israel condemn this development." ...

Official: Obama 'disgusted' with Israel WORLDNETDAILY - By Aaron Klein - October 16, 2009 JERUSALEM - U.S. officials in recent days expressed to the Palestinian Authority that President Obama's administration is "disgusted" with Israel, a top aide to PA President Mahmoud Abbas told WND in an interview. Nimr Hamad said the White House was disgusted that Israel is refusing to halt all settlement activity as a precondition for re-starting talks with the PA over the creation of a Palestinian state. "Settlement activity" refers to Jewish construction in the West Bank and eastern sections of Jerusalem. Hamad repeated that the term "disgusted" was used more than once in recent meetings with U.S. envoys to describe the administration's attitude toward Israel. Hamad did not name the U.S. envoys using the terminology. ...

Ministry leader: Obama 'loathes' Israel ONE NEWS NOW [American Family News Network] - By Chad Groening - October 16, 2009 A Messianic Jewish leader and Israel supporter is outraged that an Obama website recently published an article comparing Israelis to Nazis. According to the Israeli news service Arutz Sheva (IsraelNationalNews.com), Organizing for America -- the political arm of President Barack Obama -- recently carried an entry on its website from ultra-left-wing professor Richard Falk. Falk, reportedly a supporter of Ayatollah Khomeini's 1979 Islamic revolution in Iran, was once deported from Israel for statements he made comparing Israeli treatment of the Palestinians to the Holocaust. The Israeli news service says Organizing for America published an article by Falk which said: "Comparing the present-day Israel with Nazi Germany, one discovers that the majority of the Israeli policies are exact copies of the Nazi policies." Jan Markell, founder and director of Olive Tree Ministries, says it is an absolute outrage that a website with direct ties to the president would allow Falk's comments to be printed. "This is a further indication that Barack Obama wants to do nothing but throw Israel under the bus and destroy her as a nation," says the ministry leader. "He loathes the nation of Israel; he is trying to destroy her." ...

Barack Obama adviser says Sharia Law is misunderstood
|
LONDON DAILY TELEGRAPH [Barclay] - By Andrew Gilligan and Alex Spillius in Washington - October 8, 2009 President Barack Obama's adviser on Muslim affairs, Dalia Mogahed, has provoked controversy by appearing on a British television show hosted by a member of an extremist group to talk about Sharia Law. Miss Mogahed, appointed to the President's Council on Faith-Based and Neighbourhood Partnerships, said the Western view of Sharia was "oversimplified" and the majority of women around the world associate it with "gender justice". The White House adviser made the remarks on a London-based TV discussion programme hosted by Ibtihal Bsis, a member of the extremist Hizb ut Tahrir party. The group believes in the non-violent destruction of Western democracy and the creation of an Islamic state under Sharia Law across the world. Miss Mogahed appeared alongside Hizb ut Tahrir's national women's officer, Nazreen Nawaz. During the 45-minute discussion, on the Islam Channel programme Muslimah Dilemma earlier this week, the two members of the group made repeated attacks on secular "man-made law" and the West's "lethal cocktail of liberty and capitalism". They called for Sharia Law to be "the source of legislation" and said that women should not be "permitted to hold a position of leadership in government". Miss Mogahed made no challenge to these demands and said that "promiscuity" and the "breakdown of traditional values" were what Muslims admired least about the West. She said: "I think the reason so many women support Sharia is because they have a very different understanding of sharia than the common perception in Western media. "The majority of women around the world associate gender justice, or justice for women, with sharia compliance. ...

Netanyahu: Jerusalem is not a Settlement; It's Our Capital' 'And they have divided up My land'. - Joel 3:2
|
Jerusalem |
Netanyahu Pushes Back, Says Jerusalem 'Not a Settlement' Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insisted late Monday Israel has the right to build in Jerusalem, saying the city is "not a settlement." ASSOCIATED PRESS - March 23, 2010 WASHINGTON -- Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu presented dueling positions on Jerusalem construction Monday, underlining a recent spat between the allies while simultaneously suggesting the incident is behind them. Israel recently announced new housing plans for east Jerusalem, the part of the city Palestinians want for a future capital, drawing unusually sharp criticism from the Obama administration. Clinton renewed that disapproval on Monday, telling a pro-Israel audience that provocative Israeli land policies in areas claimed by the Palestinians are not in Israel's long-term interests and undermine U.S. credibility as a mediator. Speaking later in the day to a crowd of nearly 8,000 pro-Israel activists at the same forum, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, including hundreds of congressmen and senators, Netanyahu did not budge from his position that building anywhere in Jerusalem is an Israeli right. ... The AIPAC crowd responded with notably more enthusiasm to Netanyahu's assertion that Jews had been building in Jerusalem for 3,000 years and that Israel would continue to do so. "Jerusalem is not a settlement. It's our capital," Netanyahu said to a prolonged standing ovation. The neighborhoods Israel has built in east Jerusalem are an "inextricable" part of the city, the Israeli leader said, and will remain part of Israel under any peace agreement. "Therefore, building in them in no way precludes the possibility of a two-state solution," he said. Israel does not want to rule over Palestinians, he said, while calling on Palestinian leaders to begin talks. But despite the clashing positions, Israel and the U.S. both appeared to signal that the spat should not further delay Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations. ...

Netanyahu Draws the Line: We Build in Jerusalem as in Tel Aviv ARUTZ
SHEVA (Israeli National News) - By Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu - March 21, 2010 Israel
will make it clear to the Obama administration that "there is no
difference between building in Jerusalem and building in Tel Aviv,"
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said at in his opening remarks to the
weekly Cabinet meeting Sunday morning. "Our policy on Jerusalem is the
same as in the past 42 years.'" His remarks are in sharp contrast to
the Obama administration's stand that does not recognize Israeli
sovereignty over any part of Jerusalem that was restored to the Jewish
State in the 1967 Six-Day War. Congress has stated in legislation that
it recognizes a "united Jerusalem." ... Israel previously has refused
to discuss the core issues until agreement is reached on other issues,
such as continued incitement by the PA and the ongoing terrorist
attacks. Agreeing that each side can bring up any subject it wants
apparently is one of the concessions from Israel that Secretary Clinton
has demanded. However, the Prime Minister's statement serves as a
warning to the Obama administration that Israel will not accept a
dictated agreement. Michael Oren, Israeli Ambassador to Washington,
told American media on Saturday that an American effort to force an
agreement on the PA and Israel would be like "forcing somebody to fall
in love."

EU Joins PA's Diplomatic War on Jerusalem ARUTZ SHEVA (Israeli National News) - By Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu - December 1, 2009 The Foreign Ministry warned Tuesday morning that a Swedish-led attempt to have the European Union recognize eastern Jerusalem as the capital of the Palestinian Authority will backfire. The draft proposal, expected to be placed on the EU table next week, would damage efforts to reach peace with the PA and damage the EU's standing as a trusted entity, ministry spokesman Yossi Levy said. "The Europeans must pressure the Palestinians to return to the negotiating table," he added. "Such moves like the one being led by Sweden lead to the opposite outcome." The Swedish proposal also omits any recognition of the rest of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Government officials estimate that several EU members will oppose the proposal by Sweden, which retains the rotating presidency of the European body until next month. Likud Knesset Member Tzipi Hotovely blamed her own government for the EU move, saying, "This is more proof that the erosion of legitimacy for residents of Judea and Samaria is the direct cause for the erosion of the status of Jerusalem." The draft proposal of the EU will include its readiness to recognize the PA as a "democratic" and independent entity if PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas carries out his plan to unilaterally declare statehood. Abbas has asked the United Nations to recognize the PA as an independent state based on the 1949-1967 borders of Israel, a move which in effect destroys the Roadmap plan and American efforts for a negotiated agreement with Israel.

Ban Ki-Moon Blames Israel for Gaza Suffering, Ignores Smuggling
|
ARUTZ SHEVA (Israeli National News) - By Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu - March 21, 2010 United Nations Secetary-General Ban Ki-Moon visited Gaza Sunday and blamed Israel for its economic woes while ignoring terrorists' smuggling of weapons for use against Israel and the documented abundance of food and opportunities for Arab exporters.
He also did not mention the resumption of Kassam attacks on southern Israel. The Israel Air Force two days ago bombed several tunnels that Hamas had built for smuggling weapons and for use by terrorists to kidnap IDF soldiers.
The day before, IDF Military Intelligence Director Maj. Gen. Amos Yadlin, briefed Ban on smuggling routes used by Iran via air, land and sea, and the Iranian aid for weapons to Hamas and Hizbullah.
However, Ban focused on Israel's partial blockade of Gaza and called on Jerusalem to open all crossings for free passage of goods and merchandise. Israel has allowed daily humanitarian aid to flow into Gaza, even during the Operation Cast Lead war against Hamas terrorists last year. It has prohibited routine travel in and out of Gaza because of constant attempts by Hamas and allied terrorists to exploit the transfer of goods to smuggle in terrorists and weapons.
The Gaza economy was growing and prospering in the 1980s and 90s but suffered with the outbreak of the Second Intifada in 2000, also known as the Oslo War, prior to which Jewish communities in the region had employed thousands of Arabs in building and agriculture. Constant terrorist attacks forced Jews to rely on foreign labor, leaving the Gaza economy with higher unemployment.
The employment situation worsened after the 2005 unilateral withdrawal by Israel and the expulsion by the Sharon government of 9,000 Jews in Gush Katif and northern Gaza who had employed Gazan Arabs in agriculture and construction. The military coup staged by Hamas against Fatah three years ago exacerbated the problem, but the stores and markets in Gaza are overflowing with goods that come in through the crossings or are smuggled in the tunnels from Egypt.
Despite Egypt's clamp on its border with Gaza at the city of Rafiah, Ban placed the blame squarely on Israel's shoulders. Making his second visit to Gaza since the end of Operation Cast Lead, Ban stated, "I have repeatedly made it quite clear to Israel's leaders that the Israeli policy of closure is not sustainable and that it's wrong. It causes unacceptable suffering."
Ban is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu later Sunday.

Israel Absorbs Twin Rebukes From Top Allies NEW YORK TIMES [NYTimes Group/Sulzberger] - By Helene Cooper and John F. Burns - March 23, 2010 WASHINGTON - Israel found itself at odds with its two most stalwart allies on Tuesday as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu culminated a tense visit to Washington with a face-to-face session with President Obama that apparently failed to resolve the impasse between the two over a comprehensive Middle East peace plan. Even as Mr. Netanyahu met with Mr. Obama at a session during which the White House pointedly withheld the usual trappings of a visit by the head of a government, Israel's other ally, Britain, expelled an Israeli diplomat. It was a rare move by a friendly government, meant as a rebuke for what appeared to be the use of a dozen fake British passports by assassins suspected of being Israeli agents in the killing of a Hamas official in Dubai. ... The British decision was the latest turn in Israel's recent frictions with its closest allies. It comes as Mr. Netanyahu, struggling to balance diplomacy with a fractious domestic political alliance that put him in power, has seen a cooling of ties with the United States after his government's decision this month to approve new Jewish settlements in East Jerusalem. ...

Despite heavy lobbying, EU parliament endorses Goldstone report EU OBSERVER - By Leigh Phillips - March 10, 2010 BRUSSELS - Despite an intensive lobbying effort on the part of European Jewish groups, the European Parliament has endorsed the Goldstone report, the UN's official investigation into the bombardment of the Gaza Strip in January 2009, a report that accuses Israel of war crimes and calls for the prosecution of Israeli officials in the Hague. In a 335-to-287 vote splitting the house between left and right, MEPs backed a joint resolution from the centre left, far left, Greens and Liberals calling on the EU's foreign policy chief, Catherine Ashton, and the bloc's member states to "publicly demand the implementation of [the report's] recommendations and accountability for all violations of international law, including alleged war crimes." In April, 2009, a team of UN investigators headed by South African jurist Richard Goldstone, a former member of the South African Constitutional Court and chief prosecutor with the International Criminal Tribunals for Rwanda and the former Yugoslavia, was established to look into violations of international human rights law during the Gaza conflict in which Israeli forces killed over 1,400 Palestinians and Hamas killed 13 Israelis. While the report found that both sides had committed war crimes, Tel Aviv has since attempted to rubbish the document, an effort that has met with success in the US Congress, which last November passed a resolution calling the report "irredeemably biased and unworthy of further consideration or legitimacy." ...

Muhammad's PR Machine in full gear A Tale of Two Gazas: Website Pictures Deny 'Humanitarian Crisis'
|
ARUTZ SHEVA (Israeli National News) - By Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu - December 28, 2009 The Arabic-language PalToday website, based in Gaza, recently posted pictures showing a world of plenty for residents, despite more than two years of reports that the area is suffering from a humanitarian crisis. However, its English website for foreign audiences showed a picture of misery, focusing on a girl who wanted her terrorist father freed by Israel. The pictures on the Arabic-language site were posted for the Eid al Adha Muslim festival, which recalls the forefather Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son, who the Bible states was Isaac. The Muslim tradition substitutes Ishmael, father of the Arab peoples, for Isaac. The pictures on the Arabic-language site are headlined with the caption, "Clothes for Their Children Despite the Siege," referring to the partial blockade Israel placed on Gaza following the Hamas military coup more than two years ago. Israel has allowed thousands of trucks, bearing tens of thousands of tons of food, goods and equipment into Gaza, but the United Nations has claimed several times that a humanitarian crisis is "imminent." ...

Hamas-Ruled Gaza Receives More Aid, Markets Flowers in Europe Weekly Summary: Aid to Gaza and Exports ARUTZ SHEVA (Israeli National News) - By Hana Levi Julian - March 24, 2010 Palestinian Authority residents in Gaza received more than 12,000 tons of humanitarian aid last week through Israeli passage points, while business owners in the region exported more flowers to Europe. The Gaza region is known for its fragrant carnations, which sell for a high price in the European Union. PA Arab business owners shipped out eight truckloads to markets on the European continent last week through the Gaza crossings. Meanwhile, 519 trucks made their way into the region carrying wheat and flour, meat, chicken, fish and legumes, in addition to agricultural produce, hygiene products and medical supplies. Animal feed was transferred into Gaza via the conveyor terminal at the Karni Crossing. In addition, 1,079, 310 liters of diesel fuel and 837 tons of cooking gas were pumped into the region through the fuel terminal at the Nahal Oz Crossing. The terminal at the Erez Crossing was also busy last week; 483 medical patients and their escorts crossed into Israel from Gaza in order to travel to various destinations, including facilities in Judea and Samaria, for medical treatment. ... Despite the constant activity that takes place each week at the various crossing, Palestinian Authority government officials continue to attempt to convince the world that Israel has hermetically sealed off Gaza and is economically choking its residents. PA negotiator Saeb Erekat again reiterated this week a call by the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) for Israel to completely lift its blockade on the Gaza crossings, according to the Bethlehem-based Ma'an news agency. ...

Fatah: Virgin Mary Was Palestinian | ARUTZ SHEVA (Israeli National News) - March 17, 2010 Palestinian Media Watch reports that in its official statement in honor of International Women's Day, the Fatah movement listed a group of "Palestinian" women of whom it is proud: Martyrs, fighters, prisoners and the Virgin Mary. "If we are proud of the holiness of our land, then we are proud and pride ourselves that the first and most important holy woman among the nations and peoples is from the holy land: The Virgin Mary - the woman of love and peace - is of the nation of Palestine, whose roots are grounded in the depths of history. Our movement takes note of its pride in all the women Shahidas (Martyrs), prisoners, Palestinian fighters, who have become a model of sacrifice and a school that teaches the meaning of giving and of sacrifice." Arab Lecturer Hiding Out Over Admission that Jews Have a Tie to the Temple Mount
|
SOLOMONIA - January 28, 2010 This story dates back to November 30 but it was just brought to my attention. It shows how tough it is to be a moderate in a terror state (that would be the Palestinian Authority for those keeping score). It's impossible to share ideas and shift public opinion -- or even hint at basic truths, as in this case -- in a rational direction in places (most of the world) where individual rights and freedoms are not guaranteed against violence. Sari Nusseibeh is, while occasionally controversial, considered a "moderate" voice within Palestinian Arab society: Fear and Loathing in PA over Temple Mount Link to Jews
An Arab university lecturer and writer is hiding underground out of fear for his life after shocking the Palestinian Authority with a book that links Jews with the Temple Mount. The Arab world has been conducting a campaign, including removal of tons of dirt containing archaeological evidence, to try to eliminate historical Jewish links with the Temple Mount.
Dr. Sari Nusseibeh, of Birzeit University in Ramallah, threw acid on the propaganda campaign that tries to convince Arabs that the First and Second Temples never existed. He wrote in a book, "The legendary Temple of Jerusalem may be the place of the Presence of the Almighty and where the High Priests served Him." [Note that this isn't even much of a statement, just weasel words. -MS]
PA officials are furious with Nusseibeh, a scion of a distinguished Arab family, who now is in hiding and cannot be contacted even by mobile phone.
However, Dr. Mordechai Kedar, Middle East expert at Bar-Ilan University, told Arutz 7 that Nusseibeh actually is "small potatoes" compared to a Muslim grand mufti, in the days of the British Mandate, who wrote in 1929 that the Holy Temples on the Temple Mount were Jewish,
According to Dr. Kedar, Nusseibeh already had made enemies in the PA after declaring he is not interested in returning to his former home of Ramle, located near Ben Gurion Airport. He also was threatened with death several years ago after urging Arabs to stop suicide bombings and to abandon their claim to a "right of return" to Israel...
We await the international condemnations, the Harvard University panels and the petitions condemning what has happened to this man and demanding his academic freedom.

Arabs Begin to Blame Their Own Leaders for 'Refugee' Status ARUTZ SHEVA (Israeli National News) - By Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu - February 22, 2010 Arabs who left Israel in the 1948 are are beginning to blame Arab countries for leaving them stateless after promising a quick return to "Palestine." "They [Arab leaders] said, 'A week, two weeks, approximately, and you'll return to Palestine,'" Sadek Mufid, formerly of Akko (Acre) and now living in Lebanon, recently told Palestinian Authority television. His comments were translated by Palestinian Media Watch. Saudi Arabia has led an Arab world demand that normalization of ties with Israel and the establishment of the PA as a state be conditioned on Israel's allowing the immigration of approximately five million Arabs. Most of them are descendants of Arabs who claim they used to live in Israel. The United Nations has classified them as "refugees" and placed them in villages, known as "camps," in Judea, Samaria and Gaza and Arab countries. The Arab designation of "refugees" is maintained today by the refusal of Arab countries to allow them citizenship, voting rights, or the ability to move into better housing, in order to preserve their "unique status." Mufid's testimony represents a new trend of Arab leaders, writers and former Israeli Arab residents who have begun to speak out and openly blame the Arab leadership for the creation of their situation. ...

The Campus War Against Israel and the Jews: Students For Justice in Palestine FRONTPAGE MAGAZINE - By John Perazzo - August 27, 2009 Founded on the UC Berkeley campus in 2001, Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) now has chapters on 25 major campuses throughout the United States, including Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Georgetown, and the Universities of Michigan and Maryland. SJP is less about justice than hatred. It reviles Israel and Jews. In addition to denouncing what they call the "Israeli-controlled concentration camps" wherein Palestinians are purportedly forced to live, SJP members commonly harass Jewish students emerging from campus synagogues. In one incident at San Francisco State University, SJP supporters surrounded a small group of Jewish students and incited violence while shouting such epithets as, "Too bad Hitler didn't finish the job!" ...

Anti-Semitism Rising in France
|
ARUTZ SHEVA (Israeli National News) - By Hana Levi Julian - March 10, 2010 Anti-Semitism in France is strongly on the rise, according to the 2009 annual report released late last week by the Jewish Community Protection Service (SPCJ). The organization reported that 832 anti-Semitic incidents were recorded in France in 2009, as compared with 474 such incidents in 2008 - a 75% increase.
The statistics were gleaned from records in the organization's Aid to Victims Department, which cross-checked the figures with data published by the French Ministry of Home Affairs. Included were "statistics, comments, analyses and extracts from sentences handed out by courts in cases involving anti-Semitism," according to the Council Representing Jewish Institutions of France (CRIF).
CRIF President Richard Prasquier attributed the increase to the French population's anger at Israel during its counter-terrorist operation in Gaza, Cast Lead, last January. There were 354 anti-Semitic incidents recorded in January 2009 alone - a "totally unacceptable transposition to France of the Israel-Palestine conflict," Prasquier said. He added that "anti-Semitic words and deeds on a daily basis, often under the cover of anti-Zionism, have become a major and worryingly trivial fact of life."
In 2007, the number of anti-Semitic incidents recorded by the French Interior Ministry was 386, a lower figure than had been recorded in previous years. But the trend had already begun to change long before the Operation Cast Lead was carried out; the 2008 figures were already 22 percent higher than those of the previous year.
At least part of the reason for the hatred may have been due to the corresponding rise in the country's Islamic population.
As of 2003, there were an estimated five to six million Muslims living in France, according to a report issued by the country's Interior Ministry. However, by 2007, that number had climbed to an estimated eight million, according to Odile Jacob's Intgrer l'Islam.
In 2008, there were some 490,000 Jews living in France, according to a survey by Professor Sergio Della Pergola of the Jewish People Policy Planning Institute and the Harman Institute of Contemporary Jewry at Hebrew University.
Canadian Anti-Semitism Rising Too Anti-Semitic incidents in Canada also reached record highs in 2009, according to an annual report released by the B'nai Brith Canada organization. The survey showed an 11.4 percent jump in the number of incidents over the previous year, 2008 - a figure that constituted the highest level ever reported in the 28-year history of the audit.
The organization noted there has been a five-fold increase in anti-Semitic incidents in Canada over the past decade. As happened in France, the highest number of attacks to take place in one month, 209, occurred last January, during Israel's counter-terrorism operation in Gaza.
According to the Toronto Muslims website, Muslims living in Canada today number more than 750,000, with some 61 percent of those residing in Ontario, where the majority of the anti-Semitic incidents occurred. "Since the September 11 terrorist attacks many Muslims have begun to look to Canada as an alternative to the United States... This is especially true with international students who have come to Canada in much larger numbers since 9/11," the site noted.

Ottawa Minister: An Attack on Israel is an Attack on Canada
|
ARUTZ SHEVA (Israeli National News) - By Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu - February 15, 2010 An Iranian attack on Israel would be considered an attack on Canada, according to Peter Kent, Canada's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Americas and a legislator from an Ontario community with a large Jewish population. He told Shalomlife.com, "Canada has been concerned for some time not only about brutal repression of civil rights in Iran but also about the nuclear adventurism and the proclaimed quest of nuclear weaponry by President [Mahmoud] Ahmadinejad." Canada has been one of Israel's staunchest allies, and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper last week called for a coordinated international effort to halt "the grave danger" of Iran's pursuit of nuclear capability. Both Harper and Kent condemned Iran for human rights abuses. Kent told Shalomlife that the Iranian regime's announcement that it is producing high-grade uranium brings "Iran considerably closer to possessing weapons-grade material. ...

10 King Watch Qaddafi's Mideast Solution: Isratine
|
THE JERUSALEM POST [Mirkaei Tikshoret] - By Marvin Hier and Abraham Cooper - October 6, 2009 Here we go again. As Jews celebrate in their tens of thousands the festival of Booths, Succot, religious extremists like Sheikh Raed Salah incite Palestinian masses to recapture Jerusalem with "blood and fire." Not to be outdone, the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah rushed in to pour fuel on the fire as it protests a "plan by Jews to perform religious rituals" on the Temple Mount,' and called on the international community to "force Israel to put off its attempts to take over Jerusalem."
So as Israel struggles to stop the stone throwers' verbal assaults, and the next spate of resolutions, it's worth reminding the world that ever since the Six Day War in 1967, when Israel captured the Old City of Jerusalem, millions of people have safely streamed to the Western Wall to offer their prayers and insert hand written supplications to the Almighty. While most visitors shedding their tears adjacent to Judaism's holiest site - the Temple Mount - are Jews, not all pilgrims are. Witness Pope John Paul II inserting his own kvittel (written prayer) within the Wall's cracks; pilgrims from Africa, tourists from Indonesia, Swamis from India, Evangelicals from the Americas, Buddhists from across Asia - all come and go to the Wall.
The only price of admission: donning a cardboard yarmulke or scarf. Presidents and prime ministers flock to the Western Wall as well, armed with the latest great hope for peace in the Holy Land. From the Oslo Accords to the Quartet Middle East road map for peace, every official, regardless of religious denomination, or lack of one, finds a welcome private moment of silent prayer or reflection at the Western Wall.
AND YET earlier this week, in the midst of the Jewish High Holy Days, French tourists on the Temple Mount were pelted by irate Palestinian worshipers who "mistook" them for Jews. And the stones, and orchestrated crescendo of violence have continued unabated. During this seemingly annual exercise, has any diplomat, foreign minister, religious icon, or political pundit asked himself, or better yet the Palestinians, one simple question - why? Why can we all pray in peace at the Western Wall, but the very notion of a Jew praying on the site of Solomon's Temple begets only violence, denial and threats?
The centrality of Jerusalem to the Jewish people was never lost on friend or foe.
Two thousand years ago the Romans, after destroying the Temple, plowed under its remains and banned Jews from returning. Emperor Hadrian tried to bury the very name of City of Peace, renaming Jerusalem, Aelia Capitolina. Later, Christians, for theological reasons, extended that painful ban and it was only conquering Muslim leaders who recognized the right of Jews to "return" to live in this small area of land.
Indeed, the Christian patriarchs unsuccessfully lobbied conquering Caliph Omar in the seventh century, and again when Saladin drove out the Crusaders in the twelfth, to prevent Jews from living in or returning to Jerusalem after the Christians had expelled them from the city. Such efforts by Christians were to be repeated and denied by various Muslim authorities for hundreds of years.
How to explain Muslim attitudes over the centuries? Because the Koran itself recognized Solomon's Temple as a "Great place of prayer," and Muslim leaders saw no theological problem with Jews praying adjacent to the Dome of the Rock and the nearby Al Aqsa Mosque. Indeed, in its 1924 guide to Al-Haram Al- Sharif (the Temple Mount) the Supreme Muslim Council wrote "It's identity with the site of Solomon's Temple is beyond dispute," adding this quote from the Book of Samuel: "This, too, is the spot according to the universal belief on which David built there an altar unto the Lord and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings." That language would remain until the 1950s.
So why are things so dramatically different in 2009?
Simply put, generations of Palestinians, "educated" by Yasser Arafat and company, have been taught not believe there ever was a Solomon's Temple. Textbooks and Palestinian media all repeat the self-delusionary canard denying any historic Jewish continuity or legitimacy in the Holy Land. Indeed, president Bill Clinton was reportedly shocked when Arafat called the Western Wall - the Jewish people's holiest place - "a Muslim shrine" and the Palestinian leader's chief negotiator at the make-or-break Camp David peace talks denied the ruins of Solomon's temple lay beneath the Dome of the Rock.
TRAGICALLY, EVER since Israel magnanimously turned over religious control of the Temple Mount to the Muslim Wakf in June 1967, successive generations have been taught that Israelis are Nazi-like invaders, illegitimate neighbors and enemies.
And "friends of peace," far from urging Palestinians to deal with reality, help feed the delusion of denial. Witness the World Council of Churches, the largest umbrella group of Protestants, which recently launched the so-called Bern Initiative at its "Promised Land" conference in Switzerland. Its answer to Israel's alleged "apartheid situation" in the Holy Land is to reinterpret the Bible by differentiating between "biblical history and biblical stories . . . as well to distinguish between the Israel of the Bible and the modern State of Israel." ....

Turkey seeks restoration of Ottoman Empire
|
Ankara sees role mediating disputes between MuslimsWORLDNETDAILY - October 23, 2009As Turkey increasingly show signs of uninterest in joining the European Union, Ankara is looking to regain its historic ties in Central Asia with the idea of resurrecting the grandeur of the Ottoman Empire, according to a report from Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin. Regional analysts say Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Recep Erdogan seeks to re-establish Turkey's historical influence in the Turkic countries of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan by perpetuating a peacekeeping role. As pointed out in G2B's June 29 article "Turkey losing interest in EU," Turkey's apparent foreign policy shift may be due in part to a new generation of advisers surrounding Erdogan. Turkey's new foreign minister, Ahmet Davutoglu, for example, is one such influential adviser who has outlined what he calls a "multidimensional policy" contrary to what has been practiced. Previous Turkish leadership has been more Western-leaning, focusing entirely on the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Europe and the United States. In addition, Erdogan is pursuing closer relations with Syria and Iran. Erdogan had hosted indirect discussions between Israel and Syria after an eight-year breakdown. However, he stormed out of the conference after confronting Israel President Shimon Peres over Palestinian civilian casualties in the Gaza Strip. International human rights groups say that more than 900 civilians were killed in the Israeli offensive last January, although Israel disputes that number. Similarly, Turkey and Iran have major cooperative efforts under way, ranging from deepening economic and military ties, fighting terrorism and drug trafficking to promoting stability in Central Asia and Iraq. Erdogan's ambitions are similar to those of Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, the former KGB agent who wants to bring all the countries of the former Soviet Union back under the strong influence of modern Russia. Erdogan's apparent shift from West to East was seen earlier this month in Turkey's engagement in military exercises with Syria. At the same time, Turkey announced that it was cutting Israel out of the annual military exercises with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Called Anatolian Eagle, the air defense exercise was to include Israel, as it has done over the past six years. ... Edited :: See Original Report Herehttp://www.wnd.com/?pageId=113720Also:Turkey calls for more active EU foreign policyEU OBSERVER - By Honor Mahony - March 13, 2010 SAARISELKA - Turkey has urged the European Union to seek more influence in the South Caucasus and the Middle East, regions where Ankara already considers itself to be a major player. Speaking on Saturday (13 March) ahead of an informal meeting with seven of his EU counterparts in Lapland, Finland, 250 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle, Turkish foreign minister Ahmet Davutoglu said the EU should be "much more active than it is today" in foreign policy terms: "We want the EU to be much more active in all international affairs and also much more visionary, because the EU itself is a good example of how countries who had serious difficulties, the worst tensions in the past, came together based on the principle of values as well as economic interests." Underlining the "good model" of the union, Mr Davutoglu said that countries in South Caucasus and the Middle East could learn lessons from European integration. "The EU can provide strong messages and very good examples for other countries and regions," he said. Turkey itself has recently begun to play a more assertive role in regional diplomacy, taking a firm position against further economic sanctions on Iran, trying to mediate between Syria and Israel and moving toward a rapprochement with Armenia. Mr Davutoglu has personally been accused of having a "neo-Ottoman" view of Turkey's importance. The minister said that EU membership remains a Turkish priority, however. He pointed to his own "presence" at the Lapland meeting as evidence of Ankara's strong interest in Europe. ... The minister said the notion that Turkey is a non-European country is "irrelevant" given the "historical linkages" between his nation and Europe. He also pointed to Turkey's "successful" relations with its neighbours in a nod to EU fears that Turkish accession would extend the union's borders to security hot spots in the Middle East. ... Britain Is New Hamas Hub
|
Hamas Flag
 |
ARUTZ SHEVA (Israeli National News) - By Malkah Fleisher - February 24, 2010
In the last 10 years, London has become the primary worldwide bastion of Hamas, according to the Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center, a non-governmental organization dedicated to the memory of fallen Israeli Intelligence Community agents. Britain in recent years has consitituted a legal threat to Israeli officials who are being accused of harming PA Arabs. An arrest warrant issued in December against opposition leader Tzipi Livni is just one instance of an aggressive stance toward the Jewish State. In 2005, General Doron Almog was informed by Israel's ambassador to Britain that he may be arrested if he exited his plane in London. He chose to stay aboard and return to Israel after having traveled to England to raise money for a charity. The Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center report shows that these incidents are not accidental, but rather concentrated political activity by the Hamas terror organization. The findings say London has become the epicenter of Hamas' political, legal, and propaganda campaigns in Europe. Hamas operatives note that they have been particularly successful, with the assistance of the Muslim Brotherhood, in controlling the discourse regarding Arabs in Israel, and initiating widespread anti-Zionism throughout the country. The report estimates that Britain's value in Hamas's eyes stems from a series of advantages that Hamas finds in that country: A. Political freedom and freedom of speech prevailing in Britain allows Hamas to promote anti-Zionism freely. Hamas takes advantage of British democracy to spread incitement against Israel and lash out against Israel and the Jewish people. This is despite Hamas' distinction as a terrorist organization by the European Union. Though activities by terror groups is technically illegal in Britain, the legal system has shown great tolerance, which has been exploited by radical Islamic elements, including Hamas. B. A broad infrastructure of activists, supporters, and collaborators consisting of Hamas activists who took refuge in Britain in the 1990s, as well as radical Islamic elements such as prominent members of the Muslim Brotherhood, and radical leftist organizations which are hostile to Israel and the West. This team is enabling Hamas to reach into the political, media and academic arenas in Britain. C. Britain is one of the world's most important communications hubs, especially when it comes to Arab media such as newspapers, Internet, and television. Hamas exploits Arab media operating in London to spread its messages in the Muslim communities of the world, including Western countries and the Middle East. D. Hamas is exploiting aspects of the British legal system which enable them to file lawsuits in British courts against senior officers and political figures in Israel for "war crimes." This has created a convenient situation in which Hamas, with the support of the British infrastructure, is leveraging the Goldstone report in order to prosecute Israeli public fiures and de-legitimize Israel. The report says Hamas works hard to conceal their activities and avoid prosecution, rarely attributing to themselves the disinformation and advocacy of violence they publish and distribute. Because they consider children to be a primary target for their messaging, they spend a lot of effort writing anti-Israel and pro-war propaganda for minors. Hamas also uses British organizations, politicians, and other channels to garner money and supplies for use in Gaza, according to the Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center. 'Hamas losing control over Strip'THE JERUSALEM POST [Mirkaei Tikshoret] - By JPost.com Staff - March 6, 2010 Ahmed Ja'abri, commander of Hamas' armed wing, Izaddin al-Kassam, recently sent an urgent letter to Hamas leader in Damascus Khaled Masha'al, warning that the situation in the Gaza Strip was "deteriorating," and that Hamas has started losing control over the territory, London-based Arab-language newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat reported on Saturday morning. The letter was reportedly written in light of a series of assassinations and explosions near the offices of senior Izaddin a-Kassam commanders and of Hamas prime minister Ismail Haniyeh. No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks. ... The paper quoted Palestinian sources as saying that Hamas operatives who oppose Haniyeh were behind the attacks. 'Islamic nations will back Iran strike'
|
Israel deputy minister says messages from Muslim leaders conveyed to Netanyahu THE JERUSALEM POST [Mirkaei Tikshoret] - By JPost.com Staff - March 6, 2010 An Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear facilities would be quietly supported by a wide coalition of Islamic nations, including a number of extremist states, Deputy Minister of the Negev and Galilee Ayoub Kara said Saturday. Kara, speaking at a Beersheba event, said that though none of them would admit to it publicly, Islamic nations had conveyed messages to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu that they would back military action against Iran by Israel and the US. Kara said that Israel would strike "if there is no option." Western countries have drafted a weakened fourth set of sanctions against the Islamic Republic. Under pressure from Russia and China, the nations will not tighten the ban on trade between Western banks and the Central Bank of Iran (CBI). Diplomats at the United Nations were quoted as saying that the United States, Britain, France and Germany accepted Russia's proposal that the West only ban trading with newly-established Iranian banks, and not increase existing trade limitations with the CBI.

Report: Saudi Arabia Seeks Strike on Iran ARUTZ SHEVA (Israeli National News) - By Maayana Miskin - March 19, 2010 The German news magazine Der Spiegel has reported that Saudi Arabia is hoping Israel will strike Iran's nuclear facilities, and is even prepared to open its skies to Israeli warplanes to allow such an operation to take place. Similar reports were published in 2009, and denied by both Israel and Saudi Arabia. The Der Spiegel report stated that officials in Riyadh had spoken to United States Secretary of State Hillary Clinton about the importance of stopping Iran's nuclear program, even if doing so requires the use of military force. The London Sunday Times claimed in 2009 that Saudi Arabia would allow Israel to use its airspace to attack Iran. The paper quoted a former Israeli intelligence officer as saying, "The Saudis are very concerned about an Iranian nuclear bomb, even more than the Israelis." Der Spiegel writer Bernhard Zand stated this week, "These days, the Arabs fear the terrorists of al-Qaeda and Iran's leadership, with its rabid rhetoric and nuclear program, as much as the Israelis do. Never before since the time of Israel's creation were Jews and Arabs as united as they are in the face of the Iranian threat." ...

Chinese soldiers headed to Middle East?
|
Plans for bases, deployment under consideration WORLDNETDAILY - January 12, 2010 China is considering setting up military bases and possibly deploying forces in the Middle East over the next decade as a means of protecting its access to strategic materials, especially oil, and sizeable investments in various Arab countries, according to a report from Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin. Middle East expert Patrick Seale said the Chinese influence in the Middle East is rising and its trade with Arab countries, which totaled $132 billion in 2008, will increase. The growing cooperation between China and Iran in energy and trade is seen as leading to the prospect of increased military cooperation. That would come at a time when the West is considering increased sanctions against Iran, and Israel is threatening open military attack on Iran's nuclear enrichment facilities.
"For sure, Iran's willingness to show a greater willingness than hitherto to embrace China's naval vessels making port calls to Iran is now in the cards, this as a prelude to more extensive agreements up to and including provisions for a small Chinese naval outpost on one of Iran's Persian Gulf islands," according to Iranian expert Kaveh L. Afrasiabi. "Again, such a scenario, sure to raise the serious ire of Washington, depends on a number of intervening variables," Afrasiabi said. "These include future U.S. moves in the Persian Gulf, for example, whether or not the U.S. military will end up utilizing some of the man-made artificial islands set up by the (United Arab Emirates). If so, thus enhancing the U.S.'s power projection capability with regard to Iran, Tehran may be more inclined to try to offset the U.S.'s leaning so heavy on it by playing the 'China card.'"
Until now, the role of China and its influence in the region has received little public attention, even though Beijing's influence is growing, especially toward Iran. China, for example, is Iran's main customer for oil. It plans to invest some $43 billion in Iran's oil industry, despite the fact that U.S. policymakers are adamantly opposed to this development. In the case of China, however, unilateral U.S. sanctions would be fruitless and would create further tensions between Beijing and Washington. Policymakers view Tehran's offer to give China access to its massive oil and natural gas reserves as a way of deflecting the possibility of increased sanctions for its uranium enrichment program. As the U.N. Security Council shortly will consider such sanctions, there are growing indications that neither China nor Russia will support the move.
A good reason for that is China's heavy reliance on oil shipments from the Middle East, particularly from Iran and Saudi Arabia. Security experts say the strategy that China is developing for the Middle East is referred to as the "string of pearls." The strategy is designed to protect sea lanes from the oil-rich area of the Middle East to China. In addition to military, the strategy includes diplomatic and economic activities. As part of the "string of pearls" strategy, China is to develop commercial seaports that also can handle Chinese warships and provide support for alliances from Gwadar in Pakistan through the Indian Ocean and Southeast Asia.
