NEW ASD iPhone App... Available Now!
A powerful iPhone app that saves you time and money!

ASD is excited to bring your funeral home a sophisticated iPhone application to help you conduct more business on-the-go. The app was created as a mobilized one-stop solution to help you manage your ASD account. You can download the app at no cost on the Apple iPhone App Store. To download the app now, click here.

Here are just some of the benefits of using

ASD Mobile:
        • Hear and read all aspects of every call handled by ASD
        • Reply to messages with your iPhone to reduce the funeral home's billable calls
        • Set or review your On Call Status instructions
        • Enter, view and edit service/obituary information
        • Manage multiple accounts with ease
        • View Caller ID information for every call
        • Quickly provide positive or negative feedback for each message to ASD
        • Use your account's contacts as a handy phone book to dial staff members

Within 24 hours of the application's launch, it was reviewed by a funeral professional on Apple's online app store: "In a matter of two minutes I was able to download and log in to this awesome app. ASD Mobile is a very quick, simple way to manage everything that our on-call attendants would ever need. From changing on call order to managing obituaries to checking incoming calls, this app even offers caller ID. It's a real light app and doesn't take up a whole lot of phone memory. It doesn't make the phone drag. I've tried it on the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 3 and it works great across the board. This is a great addition to ASD's already easy-to-use web interface. It deserves 10 stars."

As we at ASD celebrate the Christmas season, we wish you and your families the same joy and happiness that we experience this time of year. We prepare in advance for every major holiday to ensure your calls are always protected. ASD already has full staffing plans in affect for Christmas and New Year's Day. ASD understands that funeral directors work around the clock and aren't able to pause and enjoy life as often as others. This is why proper staffing on holidays is such a crucial concern for our company. You don't have to be tied to your phone to be in control of your business. ASD is here to professionally and compassionately answer your calls any time you need a break.

Over the recent Thanksgiving Holiday, ASD successfully handled:

  • 6,340 incoming calls
  • 1,060 perfectly handled First Calls
  • 95% of calls were answered by the first ring

Many of you are already familiar with ASD's valued partner, Cherokee Child Caskets. We asked President, Michael Mills, to share a story that reflects how the company's products affect the families and communities in which they work.

It seemed like a hopeless situation: a funeral director located in a ruralpink-casket

North Dakota town needed a customized child's casket in time for a service that was only days away. When the director contacted Cherokee Child Caskets, he explained how his entire community would attend the young boy's funeral and how crucial it was for him to provide the family with the finest casket available with personalization that would be representative of their child's life. To the compassionate director's surprise, Cherokee Child Casket was able to manufacture a special green casket with a green tractor panel and arrange the delivery in time for the service.

Every day, Cherokee Child Caskets faces logistical dilemmas such as this. Founded in 1941, Cherokee Child Caskets provides handcrafted, high-quality caskets for infants, children and youths. Families can choose from a selection of over 10,000 different child caskets with a variety of sizes, styles, colors and other options. Under ASD's Rewards Partnership, Funeral Professionals who serve a family suffering the loss of a child can offer Cherokee's large selection of handcrafted, top-quality caskets and will receive an attractive discount offered only to ASD clients. This incentive can be used every time an order is placed. Cherokee Child Caskets and ASD hope this partnership will help funeral professionals to better serve families experiencing such a significant loss.

Striking architecture is not the first thing that comes to mind when you think of a funeral home, but with modern features and a contemporary design, the recently opened Chicago Funeral Home's chapel in Skokie, IL is helping to change the perception of today's funeral homes. Featured in a recent issue of the Chicago Tribune, the newly constructed building uses natural light, space and high ceilings to create an airy and welcoming environment for families. "It's a Jewish building that happens to be a funeral home,"said founder, David Jacobson. For information, click here. bottom bar

ASD Staff Is Professional and Compassionate in All Situations!

Each week, ASD awards four employees with an "Outstanding Service Award". "Outstanding Service Awards" are given to ASD Staff who exhibit the sensitivity and attention to detail that set ASD apart from other answering services.

Recent examples of "Outstanding Service Awards":

  • Training Call Specialist, Alana, determined a caseworker inquiring about the funeral home's history was actually calling to report a passing.
  • Assistant Supervisor, Renee, retrieved contact information from a caller who wanted to call back later about making Pre-Arrangements.
  • Advanced Call Specialist, Denise, assisted a caller who wanted to view her son before the funeral home cremated him.

Who Do You Trust To Answer Your Phones!

Funeral professionals spend hours each week perfecting the appearance of their facility. With so much focus on chapel décor, hearse models and dress code, it is easy to overlook the vital role the telephone plays in shaping a family's first impression of a funeral home. According to the National Funeral Director's Association, the average funeral costs over $7,000. The substantial cost of a single sale increases the pressure on funeral professionals to assume that every time the phone rings it could be a family in need. Safeguarding these prospects is essential for any funeral home that can't afford to lose new business.... To read more, click here.

ASD will participate in the Angel Tree Program which benefits Children's Choice Inc., a nonprofit child welfare agency for domestic adoption and foster children. ASD employees will purchase a gift to a child who might otherwise not receive any. Employees can select a paper angel with a child's name, age and his or her Christmas list. Last year, ASD employees donated over forty gifts to the program.
