"Leadership Spokane is a model for the other Leadership organizations in our region,"  Kathy Nelson, Executive Director of Leadership Kitsap.
 |
 |
We're Looking for Our 1000th Graduate! Leadership Spokane kicked off the  "We're Looking for Our 1000th Graduate" campaign on the 28th of October with an event at George Gee Automotive.  The event introduced  prospective applicants for the Class of 2012 to alumni and major donors and recognized Leadership Spokane's significant corporate sponsors:  the organizations whose commitment to building this organization has created a legacy of leadership for the region. Leslie Woodfill, Make a Wish Foundation, won a weekend with a Porsche courtesy of Scott Brewer Class of 2011 and George Gee Automotive.

Over 970 people have gone through the program since its founding in 1982.  Someone in the Class of 2012 will be that 1000th graduate.  The "search" will also coincide with Leadership Spokane's 30th Anniversary.   You can join in the search by nominating a candidate for the Class of 2012 or applying yourself!   Visit www.LeadershipSpokane.org and click on the "apply and refer" tab. Curious about the Leadership Spokane Program?
Is this the right year for you?    Please join us for food and conversation at an Open House!

Message from the ChairStephanie Barthell, Class of 2007, Premera Blue Cross Winter and the holiday season are a good time to reflect upon the events of the past year.   Whether we've endured unfortunate circumstances or have been blessed with more than we could have hoped for, we look forward with anticipation to the promise of the New Year.
In this spirit, your Leadership Spokane Alumni Association has some exciting projects for the coming year.  One of our goals is to increase membership in the Association, thus carrying forward the leadership legacy in our city.  We know that you are interested in an active and growing Association, so are in the process of recruiting Class Ambassadors to support that effort.   These Ambassadors will create excitement within their class to join the Association and encourage attendance at events and projects.  Some of the benefits of joining the alum association are exclusive access to our online class data base for networking purposes as well as yearly educational and leadership opportunities.  We are working on creating a special members-only newsletter covering topics such as leadership strategy, mentoring, trouble shooting, ethics, and  essential leadership qualities-all  written by alumni and other leaders in within our community.  We will be offering an annual done-in-a-day community service project where we can all get together and give back to our community in the form of hands-on, servant leadership. Finally, a portion of your yearly alum dues will go to a Spokane area charity, to be determined by our board and class ambassadors. If you are interested in helping us with any of these events or have suggestions, we would love to hear from you!  Just contact lfinney@leadershipspokane.org
May your holiday season be filled with hope and with the blessing of family and friends.
Warmest regards,Stephanie Barthell, Premera Blue Cross |
