Summer is winding down but there is still a lot going on in Hillsdale -- the Library referendum on August 28, a special Farmer's Market on the 29th with a cooking demonstration (if Hurricane Danny does not interfere), two dances in September, the Leaf Peeper concerts, the Fall Harvest Festival, and the Farmer's Market continues until October! Learn about the li fecycle of this mighty migrating insect in a talk by the Columbia Land Conservancy which participates in a monarch butterfly tagging program that helps researchers gather data about monarch butterfly migration. Learn how you can become a citizen scientist, have fun chasing butterflies, and hear the exciting news about where a monarch butterfly from the 2008 season was found! violin and viola by David Loeb in memory of longtime Leaf Peeper
musician Levine. Also, string trios by Beethoven, Max Reger, and a Mozart
arrangement of Bach. Cellist Astrid Schween, violinist Sanford Allen
