Episcoquizzes - a positive summertime distraction that does not involve an ice cream truck
You know it's summer time and the living is easy when even the Episcopal Church gets in on fluffy warm weather distractions. I didn't think Episcopalians were they type for "fun" quizzes, but there it was on the Episcopal Church's Facebook page:  a kick-start for personal introspection in the form of a bad-magazine-like online quiz officially sanctioned by the church.  As Communication Coordinator, this was just too funky not to share, and, to be honest, really isn't such a bad way to shake off that last-day-of-school pent-up energy with a pause for the reflection cause.

The quiz, "What's your mark of mission?", asks "When you were marked as Christ's own forever at your baptism, did you ever wonder what mark he put on you? Take this fun quiz to find out and learn more about the Five Marks of Mission:  Click Here to Take the Quiz."

Ooh!  This sounded too much like the sorting hat in Harry Potter to pass up.  I took the quiz, and even though I randomly answered a few questions because I didn't know some of the choices listed (Reality TV shows?), I thought my results were pretty affirming:

As one of my favorite local bloggers (the Well-tempered Ear) always says, "The Ear wants to hear."  If you took the quiz, do you think your "mark of mission" fits your vision of who you are as a Christian? I'd love to hear what your results were and if you thought beyond fluffy summertime-distraction-fun they offered any spark-value in the stop-think-and-live-out-your-faith category.

Shall we e-mail over a nice big glass of sun tea?  It never fails to surprise me how something so simple as bonus time thinking about our faith can sometimes distract us to the point of focus.
