The Battle for Our Children

boyindarkAs Christian families in a postmodern world, we find ourselves in a battle for our children like never before. Drugs, alcohol, teen sex, and other temptations bombard them from all sides. Valiantly, we stand at the door and fight to keep these influences away while pornography silently creeps into our homes and steals their hearts and minds...

Its official - summer vacation is over and school has started. For some, summer was way too short, and yet for others, the prospects of a new school year and a busy schedule brings excitement.

As for NXG, we had an amazing camp experience to close out the summer strong. We all came expecting God to move and He certainly did not disappoint us!  We experienced physical, emotional, and physical healings- and God had a prophetic word for many about their destinies...it was awesome!

During the last night of camp we talked about fulfilling our purpose, which is to live a life pleasing to God.We want to encourage you to really press into God as you start this new school year. Set aside some consistent personal time with Jesus everyday to help you stay strong. Pray, read your bible every day, and of course, attend NXG every week!  We also urge you to join a small group here at NXG. The degree of your success in life and your growth as a Christian is heavily dependent on the people you surround yourself with. Scripture says iron sharpens iron...so don't hang out with only wood - you'll become spiritually dull!

Our primary hope is that you determine this year to impact your school instead of your school impacting you. Maybe you can even start or join a Christian Club or get involved with some of the community outreaches we will be doing this year.  We believe the best is yet to come for each of you!
May His love overwhelm you in the process!

So many amazing things happened at camp this year. A lot of healings and deliverances took place for things that have been holding us back for so long. Even people who weren't at camp were touched. My dad, who has been a police officer for 22 years, always has struggled with back problems. Carrying an 8 pound belt everyday can cause some pain.  One night at camp, we were praying for healing, and my sister walked up to get prayed for. As we were all praying, Pastor Clint asked randomly, "Does your dad have back problems?" After I responded, he asked if he was still a police officer. With a confused look I confirmed it. We then prayed for my dad for 10 minutes that he would be healed in his back. I told my dad the next day over the phone what Clint had prayed. He was shocked that someone would pray for that. We dropped the subject for about a month and just last Monday I asked how his back was feeling. With a look of shock and amazement he responded saying he hadn't even noticed it wasn't hurting him at all. I was so excited he was healed. Go Jesus!

Echoes
Hey NXG...Pastors Clint and Amarillys want to know what's on your mind and in your spirit! We are looking for those of you with a gift and passion for writing short articles or just some good ol' fashioned blogs'. Ok...so bloggin' is not really old fashioned - it's actually still pretty new - but stay focused! This is your opportunity for you to be published in our Echoes section of the new monthly e-newsletter.  Share what God has speaking to, something cool He has done in your life, or maybe something you have to say to the Lord and you want the world (at least the NXG world - for now!) to hear it.

Email Pastor Clint your entry to clinth@newheartworship.com, and you might be the next featured writer in Echoes!  All entries must be submitted by the 21st of each month to be considered for publication in the next month's issue. Limit your entries to 325 words max (please submit in Word format if at all possible).  All entries will be read by Pastors Clint and Amarillys and if approved, you will be notified.

Look forward to hearing from you soon!

Scripture of the Month

 Philippians 3:12-14 NLT

12 I don't mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. 13 No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
