SAVE THE ANIMALS FOUNDATION  E-NEWS

Hello There Friends of STAF!

We're Kona and Higgins, your new STAF E-News hosts!

Each month we'll be bringing you some uplifting stories of rescues at the shelter and inviting you to the fund raisers that help make these stories possible. We hope you'll enjoy getting to know us over the months ahead and stop into the shelter to meet us at Open Houses.

In this edition, make sure you check out our HUGE Spaghetti Dinner which is just around the corner - only a week away!

As always, thanks for all your support!

Good News from the Shelter

We want you to know that your support really DOES make a difference in the lives of animals.  Here are just two "Success Tails" from the past month!

Mr. Red, stronger every day!

 Mr Red the Cat

Mr. Red is a sweet, lovable cat who has lived a rough life.  His ears are torn, he has no teeth, and he came  to us with injuries to a front leg and his jaw.  But the tough times never dampened his spirits.  From his first day with us, he purred and wanted only to be held.  Although he lost the leg, last month his jaw was repaired and he's finally pain-free.   Now he's ready for a forever home!

Lenny finds a home!

It's hard to imagine that less than a year ago, Lenny had been tied to a tree and left with no shelter, food or water.  He literally had to be freed with bolt cutters.  He came to the shelter with heartworm, terribly anemic, and bone-thin.  He healed with the love and patience of our volunteers, and was adopted to a great home last month!

Thank you for making a difference for Lenny, Mr. Red, and all the animals at STAF!

Honorary Gifts for Animal Lovers

Looking for a simple, meaningful, (cheap) gift for the animal lover in your life?

The Tree of Love is just the thing for any time of year, any occassion!

For a $10 donation to the STAF animals, we'll send a seasonal card of acknowledgement to the person of your choice honoring them, their pets (past or present), their favorite shelter animal, or their love and devotion to all animals.  (i.e., in March we'll send a Lucky Shamrock, in April a Bunny card, in May a Tulip, etc.)  We'll also place an ornament on our Current Honorees board with the honoree's name to acknowledge your gift throughout the season.

A great gift for family, friends, kids, STAF volunteers, and the STAF dogs & cats!

Waiting for Homes

Your next best friend is waiting for you at the shelter!  Adoption hours are Thursdays 6pm - 8pm, and Saturdays 1pm - 4pm.   You can find out more about Victoria, Henny Penny, or any of the best dogs and cats at our Petfinder site:

STAF Animals on Petfinder.

Henny Penny

Henny Penny was found abandoned, with 2 chickens (yes, we said "chickens").  You can't get a more interesting start than that!  Obviously this beautiful girl has seen it all and the result is a sweet, loving dog who accepts anyone as they are.  She's the perfect family dog, loving children and adults alike with her gentle nature and soft touch.  She'd love to climb into your lap and tell you her story soon!  Don't miss meeting her at adoptions!

Victoria

Victoria CatVictoria is nothing short of magnificent with a tri-color classic tabby coat and bright gold eyes!  She came to us after living the first year of her life under a dilapidated porch with almost no human contact.  She's making up for lost time by flipping over for "tummy time" with everyone she meets.  She'd love to have a good petting session when you stop in for adoptions!
