SAVE THE ANIMALS FOUNDATION E-NEWS
Dear Friend of STAF,
During the holiday season at STAF us volunteers tend to realize just how fortunate we are to have so many people that support our shelter. Whether it is through volunteer work, adopting one of our animals, donation of items, or donation of money we are very thankful. STAF has been around for 20 plus years and we have adopted over 1500 cats, dogs and the occasional rabbit into loving homes. We could not do this without you. The only thing that would make us happier is if all of our dogs and cats were in homes to celebrate :)
With winter our fundraising events tend to slow down. We have the on-going Rempke-Biggs Sixth Sense Program. Hyde Park City Barbeque is having a STAF day on January 17th. And we are furiously working on a date and time for out famous Spaghetti Dinner in March.
Our dog adoption committee has made it a goal to get 12 of our very special dogs into homes for the holidays. So far three dogs have found homes! Click on the link to check out all 12 dogs. Lenny is the model for the picture below and yes, he really is that handsome.

There are thousands of wonderful, deserving dogs waiting in shelters for another chance at life. Others may think of them as "unwanted" ... but we know better. We've never seen dogs MORE wanted than those who find their forever-homes after weeks (months ... years, even) of waiting in the shelter. The connection between dog and long-awaited family is nothing short of magical. Since it's the season for magic, we've made it our goal to get 12 of our very special dogs into homes for the holidays, bringing joy to dogs and their lucky humans-to-be. STAF Bingo helps our furry residents in so many ways! It provides funding for vet care, medical expenses, purchasing food, cat litter and so much more!
The Tuesday night shift is in dire need of volunteer help! Could you spare a few hours to help our cats and dogs?
Our current dire need is for concession help on Tuesday nights. The shift is from 5pm to 9pm and this person does is help set-up, make coffee, sell hot dogs, sodas, candy and cakes. It's that easy! Please contact Peggy at peggy@staf.org if you think you would like to help.
Not available on Tuesdays, but maybe could help out on Friday nights? We don't turn anyone away. If you could volunteer on Friday nights please contact Essi at essi@staf.org.
The more the merrier so please, ask your mom, dad, brothers, sisters and friends! Bingo workers do not have to be shelter volunteers but must be at least 18 years of age. Our bingo hall is located in Blue Ash. Sounds like a great New Years Resolution to me.

Rempke-Bigg's Sixth Sense Program
If you shop at at Rempke-Bigg's and bring your own bags they will give you a wooden nickle to put in their donation boxes. Each Bigg's/Rempke's spotlights three organizations for four months and STAF has been chosen at the Hyde Park location. Their address is 3872 Paxton Avenue, 45209. A nickle may not seem like a lot, but then you add all the nickles up, you have a lot. The dates for this program are from October 7th through January 17th.

Come eat for STAF!!! On Tuesday January 17, go to Hyde Park City Barbeque and "Hog Out" for the kitties and pooches. You do need to present the coupon below when placing your order. Note, the coupon says 2011, it is for 2012. Time flies!

ADOPTION INFORMATION
If you've got room in your heart and home, we've got some friends we'd like you to meet! Our shelter currently homes 45+ wonderful dogs and more than 500 spectacular cats. Short hair, long hair, big and small, young and "seasoned", playful and laidback, all here waiting for that special someone, maybe you! Our adoption hours are Thursdays from 6-8 pm and Saturdays from 1-4 pm. You can check them all out here at our Petfinder site (Link to Petfinder). They are all waiting patiently for their homes.
