Thank you!  Because of the INCREDIBLE support each of you give to all our furry residents here at the shelter, we're doing it again...we're holding out annual Big Bucks Raffle!

We're selling 6,000 tickets at $5.00 a piece for a chance to win FOUR PRIZES!!  The grand prize is $5,000, 2nd prize is $2,000, 3rd and 4th prize are $500.

We're holding the Big Bucks Raffle at our Holiday Open House, Sunday, December 4th, 2011 from 2pm to 5pm.  We wanted to make sure all our friends had a shot at the big prozed so this is to offer you the chance to buy a ticket or tow (or more!).  Click on the link above for your order form. 

There are thousands of wonderful, deserving dogs waiting in shelters for another chance at life. Others may think of them as "unwanted" ... but we know better. We've never seen dogs MORE wanted than those who find their forever-homes after weeks (months ... years, even) of waiting in the shelter. The connection between dog and long-awaited family is nothing short of magical. Since it's the season for magic, we've made it our goal to get 12 of our very special dogs into homes for the holidays, bringing joy to dogs and their lucky humans-to-be. Rempke-Bigg's Sixth Sense Program

If you shop at at Rempke-Bigg's and bring your own bags they will give you a wooden nickle to put in their donation boxes.  Each Bigg's/Rempke's spotlights three organizations for four months and STAF has been chosen at the Hyde Park location.   Their address is 3872 Paxton Avenue, 45209.  A nickle may not seem like a lot, but then you add all the nickles up, you have a lot.  The dates for this program are from October 7th through January 17th.

The Pet Spot will be hosting Photos with Santa on Saturday December 3rd from 10am to 4pm.  More details to come but as of now there are plans for a dog-massage therapist, plus one for humans as well.

Please mark your calendars for this event.  PetSpot is always very generous to STAF and we will be receiving 70% of the proceeds.

STAF's Holiday Open House flyer

A unique opportunity to earn money for STAF.  Sensory Inights is looking for external consumers for two studies this week - one on Nov 9th and the second on Nov 10th.  These studies are for woman only.  A bit about Sensory Insights: 

Studies are designed to help invite panelists to studies based on food preferences and/or eating habits. We are often looking for individuals that may either like or dislike various food products to participate on consumer food and beverage studies.

ADOPTION INFORMATION 

If you've got room in your heart and home, we've got some friends we'd like you to meet! Our shelter currently homes 45+ wonderful dogs and more than 500 spectacular cats. Short hair, long hair, big and small, young and "seasoned", playful and laidback, all here waiting for that special someone, maybe you!  Our adoption hours are Thursdays from 6-8 pm and Saturdays from 1-4 pm.   You can chek them all out here at our Petfinder site (Link to Petfinder).  They are all waiting patiently for their homes.
