mentalhealthNew Mental Health Parity Regulations Require Health Plan Updates 
 
Employer and union-sponsored welfare benefit plans must update their group health plans to comply with expanded Federal mental health parity regulations published Jan. 29, 2010. The new rules will require group health plans to review and make adjustment to benefit provisions to ensure that any covered group health plan that includes mental health and substance use disorder benefits are generally in parity with medical and surgical benefits.
