Hosting Capital Region IT Showcase
National BDPA Technology Conference and Career Fair heads to Philadelphia July 28-31
Washington, DC (May 27, 2010) -Invitations were extended to the tri-sate area and regional BDPA Members for next week's Regional Information Technology Showcase (ITSC)hosted by NBDPA's Washington, D.C. Chapter (BDPA-DC) and Northern Virginia Chapter (BDPA NoVA.)
BDPA Regional IT Showcase events allow students from the Mid-Atlantic corridor and beyond to present their 2010 research topics to local corporations and educational leaders. This is an excellent opportunity to prepare for the National ITSC competition which is hosted this year in the city National BDPA originated from in 1975--Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
BDPA's IT Showcase events allow student presenters to showcase their talents by presenting science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) based research projects. Each student drafts a college level paper based on their research.
The IT Showcase program was introduced to National BDPA eight years ago in 2002 by Dr. Jesse Bemley, Joint Educational Facilities (JEF.) The BDPA NDC Student Information Technology Education & Scholarship (SITES) program was established in 2008 with a focus on providing technical and leadership skill development for high school and undergraduate students.Students focus on building and executing their own personal roadmap which takes them from "The Classroom to the Boardroom".
Dr. Bemley is attending next week's events and will be receiving his chapter's Lifetime Achievement Award in Washington, D.C. on Friday, June 4th, 2010 at 11:00 am during the chapter's annual Community Awards Luncheon. Pre-registration is required for appropriate meal arrangements and access to the Washington Navy Yard. bt |
