MESSAGES ~
Love, Hope and Healing in Spirit
|
Greetings!
I received a
text message yesterday which asked, "How was your St V Day?" I'm the first one to admit that I don't quite
have the texting thing down. But when I
got the St. V question, I really didn't know how to respond. Holidays, like St. Valentine's Day, come with lots
of expectations. Were you asked out to
dinner? Did someone (a secret admirer,
perhaps) send flowers and candy?
Actually, I
was supposed to do what I always do on Valentine's Day - - communicate with
loved ones living on the other side of life.
That is my favorite way to share love on the day designated for
love. But this year I found myself down
with the flu, clutching a box of Puffs Plus with Vicks and watching every sappy
TV show I could find. Truly not a memorable holiday celebration.
Amidst the nose
blowing, the coughing and feverish malaise, I thought about Love - - with a
capital "L." This is the vibration at
which I do my work. If people ask me
what I think are the limitations of mediumship (and there are many), the most
obvious to me is that there are no words to describe the intensity of the love
that those in spirit send to us here.
This love isn't limited by time, distance or death. This love in its most diluted form diminishes
separation and at its most powerful is the glue of the universe and the
operating system of all creation. Love
truly is . . . grand.
So how was
my St V Day? I realized that even at my
phlegmmy worst, I was still loved. St V
Day is just too small a holiday to celebrate the love that those in spirit have for
us.
As John
Lennon wrote: Love is a promise, love is
a souvenir, once given never forgotten, never let it disappear.
With the
love of Spirit,
Hollister

Spirit Answers
Q: If a loved one dies unexpectedly and tragically, does he feel your guilt for words left unsaid? My
husband was killed and my biggest regret was my selfish behavior and lack of
words affirming my love for him. Can he hear my apology since his passing? Regards and best wishes, Angel

A: We always think that we're going to have more time, don't
we? This is never more apparent than
when someone dies suddenly and there isn't time for that final conversation - -
the one in which we imagine that everything will get resolved.
Well, unfortunately, life (and death) don't often come neatly wrapped.
But the good news is that communication remains
possible after the transition we call death.
You never need a medium to communicate to someone on the other
side. You don't have to worry about your
message not being received. When we use
someone's name in our thoughts and prayers, the sound of the name carries the
message. Think of it this way: when you're at a crowded party, if someone
mentions your name across the room, you're alerted, despite the music and other
conversation.
It's the same way with the other side. Not only do our thoughts of loved ones bring
them near, our specific concerns reach their target.
Very often during a session, a loved one will thank the
sitter for their prayers, their thoughts and their forgiveness. None of our actions on behalf of someone in
spirit goes unnoticed.
Those you love, and even those you've been angry with, can
hear what you have to say to them.
Remember that admonition, "Don't speak ill of the
dead?" Well, implicit in that statement
is the understanding that the dead do indeed hear us. And often they need to hear what we weren't
able to say while they were here whether positive - - or what we may think is negative. But don't worry, whatever needs saying, they can handle it!
One final thought. . .
it is preferable to keep current with all relationships while on this side. If you love somebody, make sure they know
it. If you need to set things right with
someone, do it now.
As Joni Mitchell used to sing: Don't it always seem to go That you don't know what you've got 'til its gone.
Many thanks to those of you who sent in your questions
after the last newsletter. Just a
reminder: I can only answer general
questions (those that can apply to many people reading the newsletter). Don't worry about asking a "stupid" question
- - if you're wondering about something, I guarantee that others are wondering,
too.
