Here is the latest local scene, painted in the gouache ink resist method (pronounced gwash).
This spot is at the end of Lake Michigan Road at the south end of Sleeping Bear Dune National Lakeshore. It is a prime rock collecting spot. I cannot come back home without at least one smooth stone in my pocket. It's impossible.
I'm hoping to have the prints ready and available by the end of next week...notecards soon after.
Below are the 6 in the series so far... :)
The color correction will be much better in the actual prints. :)
Idea Spark-lers
Inspiration to use in your own creative work....
use seasonal items as subject matter...
Do a pumpkin or gourd portrait...or paint a portrait of your child or grandchild in costume. What a fun memento to have. Wish I had thought of this when our boys were younger! Instead of yearly school photos...I'd love to have a collection of annual Halloween portraits. :D
My inspiration for the painting below was color...I just love orange with turquoise...secondary idea was the shape of the stem...I made it up, but it seems to give the small pumpkin such an attitude. :)
That's another thing that I love about art-making...you can make things up and not get in trouble.

2011...What I'm Celebrating...
Early in January, I chose a word to use as my theme for the year... It's "Celebrate"...
