Hello there!

I had a great week... how about you?

This photo was taken on Wednesday evening... I was awestruck by the cloud formations... Sights like this make me tear up... what a cry-baby. :)

Hot Off the Easel!
I had such fun at Crystal Lake Art Center, teaching Acrylic 101 with a talented and fun-loving group. I began this painting as a demo and finished it up yesterday...

And here's the newest gouache ink resist...
"Peterson Beach." This beach is a nice 40 minute walk from our house...

I have one more in the "gouache ink resist" series to finish up... and then I'll be offering prints and notecards to benefit HARP (Honor Area Restoration Project) These are all local scenes and places that make the Honor area so special!

If you are interested in learning the Gouache Ink Resist process... (it's WAY fun!) Join me at the Crystal Lake Art Center for a class... I bring everything you'll need to learn this addictive process.

Inspiration to use in your own creative work....

a personalized collage...

My dear friend Judy, has delighted me with a number of personalized mini collage cards... made especially for me. I treasure them and think it's just a great idea...certainly one worth sharing, so thanks Judy!

Then she got the neighbors together and they did a group collage for me when I moved up here... I was so touched!

Just cut out things in magazines or newspapers that remind you of the person you are making the collage for... Or what message you'd like to send them.

Glue the images down onto paper or poster board and make someone's day.

So Judy... this one is from me to you... thanks friend and have a safe journey back to Texas!

2011...What I'm Celebrating...
Early in January, I chose a word to use as my theme for the year... It's "Celebrate"...

Here's a link to the explanation, in case you missed it.

This week, I'm Celebrating:

  • the phenomenal berries that are showing up as the leaves drop
  • cloud formations that are so beautiful that they make me cry
  • the oatmeal cookie fairy
  • the Benzonia Public Library
  • the extra time I have each day now that the Tigers are out of the playoffs... what fun that was though!
  • Shop n Save in Benzonia...they have everything..even gesso!
  • son going in for 2nd interview
  • that the plastic clip magnet that I accidentally baked along with the mexican meatloaf didn't make a mess or stink too bad (it must have hitched a ride into the oven on the bottom of the metal pan)
  • terrific students at Crystal Lake Art Center
  • facebook friends that make me laugh each day
  • finding a perfect gift for someone...so perfect that I can hardly wait to give it
  • anticipation of a visit to my old 'hood
  • Spartan Football!!!
