Happy March!

The days are getting longer and longer... and as much as I love winter... the added sunshine is most welcome!

I'm finally feeling human after recovering from a dental issue. Man, I hate being out of commission for a day, let alone almost 2 weeks!

It's good to be back.

I'm cleaning up the studio again.... That means that I am finding all sorts of almost completed paintings.

I started this one about 2 years ago (I think)... Finished yesterday. These colors yell SPRING to me.

Inspiration to use in your own creative work....

Virtual Doodles....
My friend, Patty Henderson, shared this amazing free scribbler site. What fun!

When you click on the site... just left click and hold and start moving the mouse around... You'll get the hang of it.

Note that there are "undo" and "clear" buttons. If you want to play in color... you need to click right on the little arrow, that opens up a small box of unlimited colors. Every artist's dream. :)

I could develop either of these into a painting.
When you are stuck for something to do.... sometimes it's good just to play around... even if it's only virtually.

2011...What I'm Celebrating...
Early in January, I chose a word to use as my theme for the year... It's "Celebrate"... Here's a link to the explanation, in case you missed it.

This week, I'm Celebrating:

  • my green stretchy hoodie sweater... comfortable, long enough and just the right weight.
  • dentists and oral surgeons...
  • my husband and my sister.
  • my painting "Tulip Trail" will grace the Munson hospital walls for the next couple of weeks.
  • vicodin
  • antibiotics
  • advil
  • Season after season of "Bones" to watch on Netflix while recuperating.
  • Friends bearing jello.
  • new art books.
  • longer and longer days.
  • spring training games starting. (Go Tigers)

Classes...

I'll be teaching "Acrylics 101" at the Crystal Lake Art Center on June 14th, 2011.  We'll be elbow deep in paint and techniques...then we'll pull it all together with a painting. Supplies are included... so just come and enjoy a creative play day!

Have a Great Week!
