For the Love of Nature. Denise Lira-Ratinoff's chromogenic prints of ice-bergs on the brink of extinction preserve our good earth; American sculptor and printmaker, Joan Winter's expressive Surimon etchings are visions of beauty, and contemporary master painter and printmaker Lisa Yuskavage, shows the human form in seductive and splendid ways. In addition, you will meet our rising curator, Claudia Martinez, who shares her favorites from our gallery.

Curator's Picks | | The Talented CLAUDIA MARTINEZ carefully selected 5 works out of hundreds. View her impressive selection below.

Darren Wardle Future Ruin, 2009 Screenprint on plexi-glass $2,000
Quiet, empty spaces void of human presence Darren Wardle reproduces architecturally dynamic worlds with a post-apocalyptic tone while serving as sublime objects on their own. His palette choices ensure the perfect balance of color and light. The reflective surface captures your image as you look back at yourself furthering engaging you with the work.

Shepard Fairey Peace Goddess, 2007 Screenprint on paper $600
Shepard Fairey's works permeate urban landscapes from the east coast to the west coast of the United States. For Fairey, these vistas create a forum for artistic expression and discourse. As infamous as he is innovative, Fairey is one of the pioneers of the art movement known as street art.

James Surls Faces Chine colle and varnished soft ground etching front and verso $1,400
James Surls' prints combine the patterns and texture of chine colle paper with delicate lines that render luscious, detailed forms to create rich, poetic imageries. The texture of the paper emphasizes the dark, velvety lines that create a dialogue between micro and macro forms.

John Baldessari Falling Star, 1989-90 Photogravure with color aquatint $6,500
Internationally renowned and critically acclaimed artist, John Baldessari, explores the nature of representation through text and form. His electric-color accents are a nod Pop Art. In a sense, he is a scavenger and collector of visual data. He uses the canvas to edit that data and present it to the world in an evocative way. His prints are in integral part of his oeuvre where he experiments to push the boundaries of art even further and is always looking to critique art in any way he can. This ironic print is vibrant and pops off the wall and the subject matter is easy to relate to.
If I saw the art around me that I liked, then I wouldn't do art. -John Baldessari

Roberto Matta Le Doute des Trois Mondes Lithograph $2,250
Roberto Matta is a Chilean painter and seminal figure in the 20th century abstract expressionist and surrealist art. Matta creates new dimensions in a blend of organic and cosmic life forms. His distinctive interpretation of Surrealism and random painting technique influenced later generations of Abstract Expressionists such as Pollock and Gorky.
