Curator's Picks

The Talented BLAIR LEAKE carefully chose 4 works out of hundreds for all to enjoy. View her selection below.

James Surls

James Surls
Seeing Near and Far
Chine colle polymer gravure
$1,400

James Surls' prints combine the patterns and texture of chine colle paper with delicate lines that render luscious, detailed forms to create rich, poetic imageries. The texture of the paper emphasizes the dark, velvety lines that create a dialogue between micro and macro forms.

Teresa Gomez Martorell

Teresa Gomez Martorell
Gaze
, 2008
Chine colle soft-ground etching
$550

Teresa Gomez Martorell is an artist whose uses images like words - bending and manipulating them to communicate a new truth or a new idea. Her works are intensely alluring and communicative, and through art she expresses beauty in the world that so many tend to overlook.
"You don't have to climb a mountain to see something extraordinary, you can study the things around you, just look at them through other eyes." - Thomas Gomez Martorell

Judy Pfaff
Light or Half Dark, no.02
Spit bite etching, surface roll
$1,800

Judy Pfaff creates environments in her work that are impeccably
narrative and dimensional. The airy-quality to her work is a nod to her
appreciation and study of fine architecture. She explores many
different mediums, including installation art, which gives her drawings
structural and spacial complexity.

Le Corbusier

Le Corbusier
Modulor
, 1962
Lithograph
$2,500

Le Corbusier was a Swiss-French architect, designer, urbanist, writer and also painter who influenced generations of artists. He is considered a modern genius and Renaissance man who in many respects inspired an international style deemed "Modern Architecture."  Also an accomplished print maker, architect, and furniture maker, Le Corbusier's designs had a profound influence on 20th century style and mannerisms.  No other modernist in history has had his hand in so many fields of artistic exploration with as much influence.  A Le Corbusier print is a staple piece for any collection.

"Space and light and order. Those are the things that men need just as much as they need bread or a place to sleep."
-Le Corbusier
