South Carolina Arts Commission News
Hello everyone,

The S.C. Arts Commission will receive American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds from the National Endowment for the Arts to help S.C. arts organizations preserve jobs. These one-time grants are intended to act as a bridge of support to help arts organizations during the immediate economic crisis. Other resources for weathering the current situation and planning for the future include a free webinar on economic stability and the 2009 Statewide Arts Conference. Read more about these and other opportunities in this issue of the e-newsletter.

Current Operating Support grantees are eligible for Recovery Act grants from the S.C. Arts Commission. These grants must be used for salary support and/or artist fees. Salary support must be for current positions critical to an arts organization's mission that are in jeopardy or that have been eliminated or reduced because of the economy. Artist fees must be for planned engagements with artists and/or contractual personnel to maintain or expand the engagement period. Visit our Web site for grant guidelines and details Grant applications are due May 8. Applicants are strongly encouraged to contact their county coordinator prior to submitting an application.
