Process Leadership
In our last issue we discussed some benefits of creating a culture of process users ( TEF Flash Issue 2009-2). But how do process leaders help create these positive, high-performing cultures? Successful process leaders use process to:
- Visibly address key issues and encourage others to do likewise
- Understand issues before taking actions
- Get and use accurate, relevant information
- Maintain focus on what's important--not just what's urgent
- Ask good process questions
- Involve others in problem solving
- Proactively and constructively address conflict
- Monitor for results and adjust as necessary
- Take the time necessary to do things right
