General Guidelines: Always remember "It is not who
you are going to see, but rather...It is who is going to
see you."
- Your belt and shoes should match in color.
- Never reveal the skin between the sock and the
pant leg.
- It is better to show up overdressed rather than
underdressed.
- Grooming tells others how you feel about
yourself.
- Be neat and polished in appearance.
- Keep sweats and jogging suits at the gym.
- Casual doesn't mean wrinkled...when in doubt,
iron.
- Pay attention to the 10 inches from the top of your
head and the 10 inches from the sole of your
shoes.
- Go light on the perfume or cologne, some scents
can be objectionable, even nauseating, to others
around you.
- Know the colors best suited to you and your
complexion.
- Choose clothing that is tailored to fit and in the
correct proportion for you to enhance your
physique.
- Avoid clothing that is too tight, too sheer or too
loose.
Additional tips just for men:
- Make sure you dress in the same chapter as the
woman you are with, this shows respect.
- Women notice shoes, make sure they are
polished and in good repair.
For Women:
- Keep accessories simple.
- Stay away from dangling earrings and noisy
jewelry, they are distracting.
- Pay attention to your hairstyle, are your roots
showing?
- Well manicured nails inspire confidence in
others.
- A bulky, cumbersome handbag suggests you are
disorganized.
"Dress up... dress down... that's your business.
Dress well... that's my business" - Doug Paris
