Greetings!

Welcome to the fall issue of our Rockhaven newsletter.  Our hope is to begin using this e-newsletter as way to stay connected to our campers, user groups and supporters.
It is important to us to have accurate contact information and send this newsletter, correspondence and information about events to people who wish to be on the list.  So, please click on the "Update Profile/Email Address link at the bottom of this newsletter to adjust, change or add to your profile.  We currently have a large list of email addresses but would really appreciate you at least adding your name to the profile along with any other contact information you would like to share.  The contact list is secure and you will only receive information concerning Rockhaven Camp and Retreat Center.  However, if you would like to be removed from the list please follow the link below to be removed from further newsletters or correspondence.

Rockhaven is growing and there are many new things we'd like to share and hopefully you wish to keep in touch and remain involved with this exciting ministry.  Continuing our efforts to communicate better with campers, retreat groups and supports we have set up and will be using an official Facebook page along with Twitter.  Check us out on Facebook and connect with past staff and Rockhaven friends.  Also, you may wish to follow us on Twitter to hear what's happening and help expand the Rockhaven family.

Rockhaven is truly a sacred space with a wellspring of untapped potential; we hope you will continue supporting its growth by attending camp programs or events, booking retreats, using the adventure programs or participating in work days.  Perhaps you would like to join the Rockhaven Committee, spread the word through brochure distribution or forwarding this email, or make a pledge to the church budget and support its growth financially.

Please check out the Rockhaven website regularly for news and updates, as well as information about summer camp and how to register.

Finally, it is our hope to be the best stewards of Rockhaven and its ministry as we can.  To better achieve this goal we ask that you consider taking a brief survey which will help us better understand your needs and expectations.  Please Click Here to take the online survey.  Thank you and we see you when we gather at the river.

Growing toward a bright future...
In September, the Session of First Presbyterian Church made a commitment to focus on the future of Rockhaven in 2011. The future being to realize Rockhaven as a viable, relevant, sustainable year round camp and retreat ministry.  One of their first steps was the extending of the camp director position through the year to focus on expanding the constituency base, user groups, better communication and improved facilities, programs and resources.

Climbing To New Heights!
Adventure programs coming to Rockhaven

This past year we

completed the first  stage of our plans to develop adventure programs at Rockhaven.  The climbing tower which was made possible generous donors at First Presbyterian Church was a great first step and has been enjoyed by our campers and retreat groups.

In the spring we will be building a high ropes challenge course which will be attached to the current climbing tower.

Adventure programs are designed to challenge groups of all ages.  The climbing wall can challenge everyone to reach for a higher goal through positive encouragement and communication.

The high ropes course will help individuals test their abilities, and choose risks appropriate to their skill level.  The high ropes course is the ideal way to help groups push their limits both individually and as a group.

Yellowstone Zipline and Canopy Tours
Successful Partnerships

Another big change this year was our partnership with Montana Whitewater and Yellowstone Zipline to create a zip line canopy tour.  If you haven't experienced it yet stay tuned for information when Rockhaven campers or groups can participate or contact Montana Whitewater to book a tour.

Yellowstone Zipline and Canopy Tours Offers our Gallatin River Montana Zipline and Canopy Tour a  fully guided zipline tour with 3 full zips and 3 bridges. Two of our zips cross the beautiful Gallatin River!

Ziplining is a fun, exciting and eco-friendly way to experience the scenic beauty of the Greater Yellowstone Area in Montana. It is also an effective tool for personal growth through challenge and education.

Yellowstone Zipline offers much more than just an exciting adventure. Our Dynamic Guides share valuable stories and information about our unique area so that you come away with a deeper understanding and connection to this wild and scenic place.

Dreams Of A New Retreat House

To better serve a wider range of users we are in the process of remodeling our current dorm to a modern, heated, handicapped accessible retreat facility.  This fall we replace our out of date electric service to an improved underground installation which will allow for expansion of our facility.

The new retreat house design is fully winterized; will accommodate 50 beds and has a meeting room, kitchenette, laundry, storage room, and men and women's handicap accessible bathrooms and showers.  There are plans for a small second floor apartment for a caretaker/director or additional retreat space.
