Greetings!
Guess what? The secret to easy decision-making.....is still a secret! No, I'm not referring to those no-brainer types of decisions we make as a matter of course. I'm referring to those gut-wrenching, heart-pounding ones that we all just wish we didn't have to make. Well, easy decision-making - still a secret. However, I DO have great news for you! Remember what some of my dashing associates used to say in times past, and some still say? "The only easy day was yesterday". Now, how is that great news? Think. Reflect a little. As you grow, have certain types of decisions become easier to make? With the hindsight of experience, imbibing of new knowledge and, looking forward, integration of your wisdom with the collective wisdom of others, have you found making tough calls easier? Do you now make calls to people you have just met at networking events with greater ease? Are you more able to schedule your priorities deliberately instead of being a slave to your schedule? Are you more able now to bring a co-worker to task for dragging her feet on those reports that YOU need to get YOUR job done with? Have you in the last month plucked up the courage to discuss unevenly-assigned tasks with your supervisor? Have you stood up in defence of a colleague who was being unfairly treated? Have you taken the time and effort to publicly praise someone for demonstrating a corporate value, and let know that it is something you require from all? If you have said "Yes" to just one or two of those, you're doing quite well! Have you been honing those fundamentals? Remember "wind sprints"? Are you keeping up? Keep making your business better, don't worry about other people slacking off, seeming to have a great time with "passive income". "Passive income" isn't really what it's all made out to be, if you dig into the truth of the matter, but that's another issue. Keep getting better at what you do, gain new knowledge, keep making wise choices, and you will find that, though the hard decisions are STILL hard decisions, you would have grown enough to handle them with greater ease. You would be stronger, more confident, more bold to do the right thing, and not so easily swayed by the winds of change and other people's opinions. I trust you are still growing!
