Here is the bottom line. When we talk to people about Jesus, the tough decision they have to make is who is Jesus. So many people that we meet want to turn Jesus into a good guy. They want to strip Him of His godhood and turn Him into a man. Look at Islam, for example. They will tell you that they believe in "Jesus". But, the Jesus they believe in is not God. He is merely a man, a good person, a prophet. I believe the reason that people (and religions) do this is because if Jesus is God, then they have to be accountable to Him. If they have to be accountable, then He gets to be Lord. Thus they can't be Lord of their lives at the same time.

We are in the final stages of developing our first Gospel tract. It is based on John 3:19 and asks "What is the verdict?" It invites people to examine the evidence and then decide who Jesus is. The offer on the tract is a free copy of Lee Strobel's book The Case for Christ. In the book, Strobel examines the evidence that Jesus is the Christ and invites the reader to examine the evidence for themselves and make a choice. The tract will be in the April mailing of the Bezeugen Tract Club.

This week we had some wonderful witnessing encounters at the Galleria and Grapevine Mills malls. We talked to Heather who had no church background and was very interested in hearing the Gospel. Jake who is an atheist. We took him through a hypothetical judgment before the God that he does not believe in. Marla has a church background but is struggling with deciding if Jesus is who he says he is. Please pray that each of these people reach the verdict that Jesus is the only way to heaven!

On Saturday I attended part one of a five part class called Islam 101 at a mosque in Plano. The class is intended to give an introduction to Islam from their  perspective. There were probably 50 people there! I am taking the class as a follow-up to a discussion I had with a Muslim friend about six weeks ago. I asked him a number of questions about his faith. He was not able to answer them and suggested I take this class. I meet many Muslims every day. And statistics say there are 1.7 Billion of them on earth. That is 1/5th of the population! While only 6 Million live in the US, I seem to run into many of them. So I figured what better way to be able to witness to them then learn more about what they believe directly from their source. The class is designed to be non-confrontational; questions could only be asked in writing. Therefore the Imam could choose which to answer and which not to answer. Case in point, he only answered two of the three questions I submitted. The way I see it is failure to answer the question is actually answering it! After the class refreshments were served and I spoke with a number of the people that were in the class. One Chinese man was explaining that he left the Presbyterian church to follow Islam. We got into a discussion of why. I entered the conversation to explain the Christian perspective. Then ended up sharing the Gospel to five Muslims right there in the mosque! Praise God!
