Our New Website
Dear Friends of Homes of Hope:

We're very proud of our new website, which went on line just last week.  As you will see when you go to www.homeofhopeindia.org or www.homesofhopeindia.org, we are now able to tell a fuller story of our ever-expanding work in India.  Because we are now indeed working to support HOMES OF HOPE.

New Website

The new website shows all OUR LOCATIONS (and some have a YouTube slide show), provides ease of donations, illustrates our current and most crucial needs, and gives volunteers a good picture of what they might be doing in India.  Also, you will see more about our HopeZone concept, which helps to focus our work in three states of India, at 32 Salesian locations - orphanages, schools, junior colleges, technical training schools and hostels.

Please browse through the website.  I think you'll find out much more about how your support is helping thousands of orphans and children in need.

The website was created by Tim Brill of Brill Branding of Wilmington, NC.

Computers in India

Just this week, our shipment of 200 refurbished computers arrived at Home of Hope in Kochi.  From there they will be distributed to locations throughout the HopeZone.

         Computers Arrive

Computers are needed so badly at all our locations as this is the tool that our children must learn to use in order to secure a job in the future.  We are happy to work with InterConnection in Seattle that carefully upgrades used computers so that they can have a longer, useful life.

Volunteer Updates

Two young Notre Dame graduates, Allison Cudworth and Christine Cardoza, are now at our rural school and boarding facility at Hassan where children from poor, outlying villages are living so that they may be able to attend school.

Tamuto Takakura, a Notre Dame aeronautical engineering graduate, has also put his promising career on hold this summer and is heading to Kozhikode to evaluate and help upgrade the science curriculum.

Here is our Volunteer Coordinator, Mike Joseph, with Patti & Nash Jenkins, a mother and son duo who will be going to Hassan to teach English and work on art projects with the girls.  Nash applied for and received a travel grant from his school, Lawrenceville School.

An experienced teacher, Brenda Marcoux, and another recent St. Mary graduate, Nikki LaGare, will team up at Chandur (the first volunteers to visit  this location) to help upgrade English teaching, provide in-service teacher workshops and prepare material for future volunteers.

As you can see, great things are happening in India because of your support.  Please share this newsletter with family and friends and continue to spread the word.
Thank you so much and God's blessings go out to you all.
