Dear Friends,
Hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving! Our first Dharma-Thon event was a joy to conduct and the coming together of four classes - Adult Gita & Chanting, Vedic 4 and 5- left us with many thoughtful ideas for the future. Click here for Dharma-thon Photos. Our contemporary discussion between adults and youth on the application of some of the guiding principles of the Ramayana has been summarized in the Dharma-thon Workshop Notes.
Mark your calendar for our 7th Annual Mangala Festival of Arts of India, celebrating Diwali. This is on Dec 4, Sunday at 3 p.m. Click here for Mangala flyer. We look forward to seeing many of our faculty members performing.
Our annual participation at the Temple Tikwah Inter-faith Thanksgiving Service reminds us of our role in the community and the importance of nurturing bonds with others we may not run into on a periodic basis. This event was covered by the local press in Article #1 & Article #2.

YICG is proud to present BANYAN - Build A Novel Youth Adult Network!
It is an exciting opportunity for middle and high school students currently enrolled in our Saturday programs to be a part of this program geared toward having small groups of students working with a mentor in various team-building and mentoring activities. The goal of this program is to bring out leadership skills among our students using fun projects under the guidance of a group of adults from our community.
Activities planned during the session hours include Cooking Contests, Basketball Competitions, Spring Walkathon, Improvised Public Speaking and so on. We also plan to bring in special guests from time to time to work with the entire group.
Frequency/Duration: 5-6 sessions in the calendar year, First meeting is on December 17th 2011
Time: 3:15 pm - 4:30 pm
Place: Herricks Middle School Cafeteria
Fee: No Charge for YICG students.
