Dear Friends,
This year's exciting curriculum for High School Students is based on the complete Bhagavad Gita. Many leadership lessons are encountered in the narrative and we will study them. In addition, we will role play and bring the lessons into a contemporary framework, using activities, thought provoking games and case studies. Guests from many walks of life will be invited to share their insights into aspects of leadership. We will develop a Leadership Forum during the year. We hope this leads to an ongoing forum to explore the manifold vision of the Gita.
The 18 chapters of the Gita will be encapsulated in 18 leadership lessons. Perennial Wisdom in conjunction with topical issues will be the backdrop for class discussions. Some insights could be:
Leaders should embrace rather than avoid formidable challenges because they bring out the leaders' greatest strengths
Leaders should be resilient in their actions and should not be weakened by pain and pleasure.
Selfish desires and animosity obscure the purpose of leadership.
Leaders achieve lasting power and glory by exercising compassion and selfless service.
Effective leaders do not lead by fear or anger.
Character is core to effective leadership. Leaders need to be aware of the self and the surroundings. (Book by Roka)
I encourage you as parents to get involved in this series through the Leadership Forum. Please let me know if you can be a part of it.
Best Regards and see you soon, Rathi Raja |
