ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THIS SATURDAY
Please come early to register and resolve timing conflicts
MEET YOUR TEACHER DAY OCTOBER 9th!!
Odissi class starts this Saturday, Oct. 2nd. The beginner class will be at 2pm.
Bollywood classes start this Saturday, Oct. 2nd. The schedule has been changed to accommodate the needs of students who want both bollywood and another class (for complete Schedule see the "Dance" tab).
Kathak classes start this Saturday. Beginner class will be at 3:30. The 4:30 class is for kids with 1-2 yrs experience and the approval of the teacher.
Bharatnatyam classes start on Oct. 9th. New Students, call for details.
Tabla 2pm class; NEW 1pm class--please attend!
Telugu class is back!! 3:15-4:30pm for ages 4&up. The main focus will be on conversation.
Adult Yoga 3:30-4:30 class--Come join us!
Adult Gita 12:45-1:45pm - Exploring the lessons in Bhagavatham. Class starts this week.
Adult Leadership Forum Adults interested in participating in a panel discussion to share experiences with our senior youth. Sign up sheets will be available Saturday.
BrainPower Workshops Leadership, Creativity and Personal Development (LCPD) for middle schoolers for 3 sessions on October 9, 16, 23. Gr 4-8.

We extend a warm welcome to our new and returning students. As we start the new year we have great news. Three of our students who took the Prarambhik Exam-the second level in the series of exams held by the Wardha Samiti -India held in April 2010 have passed in the first class and one student who took the Prathamik Exam -the first level held in September 2009 passed in the first class with distinction. We have four students who will be ready to take the first and second level of the exams in October 2010. We wish them great success!!

Dance
ODISSI* NEW Beginner Odissi class forming at YICG on October 2nd, 2010 at 2 PM. Please register yourself - your child for an amazing journey in Odissi in the Padmashri Guru Mayadhar Raut Gharana with Mala Desai.
* YICG Odissi students will perform at the Diwali Festival at South Street Seaport on 10/3/10. Do come and cheer them on.

BOLLYWOOD The new schedule is as follows: 1:15-2:15 - 4&5 yr olds (for kids in the 2:15 vedic heritage class) 2:15-3:15 - 6&up (for kids in a 3:15 class such as hindi conversation) 3:30-4:30 - 8&up (requirement: 2 yrs bollywood experience and approval of dance teacher) 4:30-5:30 - 6&up (new class added)

Carnatic Music Please inquire at the desk on Saturday for private and semi-private lessons with Lalitha Badrinath. Tabla New class being offered at 1pm, if you are interested please come this Saturday. BADMINTONYICG will be running a Voluntary Badminton League for parents on Saturdays from 1.30pm to 4.30pm. This will be open to parents who have their kids studying at YICG on Saturdays. We encourage anyone who is interested to contact our front desk on the 2nd of October to sign up. The fees for the yearly program is $110 ( $20 registration fees and $90 for badminton). Badminton Birdies ( shuttles ) and all required equipment will be provided by YICG. Please bring your own badminton rackets for the game.Since this is a voluntary group we would expect all players to actively participate in setting up the court and cleaning up after the game.
