SYNOPSIS

The mounting pressure on electricity supply, environmental performance and electricity price increases require an urgent response. Eskom's DSM programme has been around for a few years now, but will be significantly up-scaled to meet these challenges. In his presentation, Andrew Etzinger will articulate Eskom's new approach to demand management and its implications for each of us. The construction of a virtual power station by next winter, new products and technologies, and a few ideas from left field are all part of the mix. Please join us for a lively debate on important electrical energy topics.

BRIEF CV OF PRESENTER

Andrew Etzinger has worked in the electricity industry for the past 20 years in a wide range of fields including power system planning, information technology, business planning and demand-side management. He is currently responsible for Eskom's integrated demand management programme which involves collaboration with business and society to reduce the demand for electricity through energy efficiency, whilst growing South Africa's economy.
