MARIO NOWOGRODZKI, CPA/CITP

Founder and Principal

Greetings from Los Angeles!  In the space normally reserved for the "From the desk of..." feature, this month I come to you from the City of Angels -- live from the 2010 Intuit Solution Provider Summt.  At this conference for QuickBooks Value Added Resellers, Intuit is unveiling the latest certification courses for Solution Providers, which I was proud to be part of creating.  I am happy to also be the instructor for the QuickBooks Enterprise Technical Certification curriculum -- focusing on troubleshooting and providing support to QuickBooks Enterprise customers.

The timing of this conference coincides with the latest release of the QuickBooks family of products last week: QuickBooks Pro and Premier 2011, QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 11.0, and QuickBooks Point of Sale 10.0.  Last month, I wrote about some of the changes in 2011.  At the top of my list are new functions in QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions:

- Advanced Inventory -- multi-location inventory tracking

- Advanced Custom Reporting -- a faster way to directly access QuickBooks data for more flexibility in external reporting

For more information on these and the rest of the enhancements in 2011, refer to our archive of last month's newsletter.

The Intuit Solution Provider Advisory Council held a meeting at the conference.  Being the only member since the formation of the council four years ago, I led several discussions to chart the course of this reseller program.

A big wave from the land of the rich and famous (well, one of them)!

The Magic of Holidays!
 Pumpkin5
Fall brings that energy where everything seems so magical.  Nature starts preparing for winter and gives us its last manifestation of colors.  But the best is in the kitchen, the smell of warm spices coming alive... and for you a special Pumpkin Pie recipe:

1-1/2 package of silken extra firm tofu (each package 12.3 oz)
2 cups of canned or cooked pumpkin
2/3 cup of honey
1 tsp vanilla
1-1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
3/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1 unbaked 9" pastry crust

Drain tofu and blend in a food processor or blender until smooth. Add remaining ingredients and blend well.  Pour into unbaked pie crust.  Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for about 1 hour.  Filling will be soft, but will firm as it chills.  Chill and serve.

Feel the smell... enjoy the taste...
Have a Delicious Happy Halloween!!
