"Birth" premiered in Austria
How's this for being BOLD? Sylvia Sedlak found out about the play several years ago, read the English version and said to herself: with a 30% cesarean rate in Austria "we need this play in Austria." So at night while her children slept she translated the entire play into Austrian German. With the help of American German professor Helga Thorson the two created a German translation of the play ("called Geburt" in German) that premiered October 8th in Austria! Thank you, Sylvia, for being BOLD! For more information on their performance click here. |

South Dakota offers 3 BOLD Red Tents
This is the third year in a row that South Dakota Safe Childbirth Options sponsored a BOLD Red Tent in Sioux Falls on the Friday after Labor Day. Each year they have attracted a little over 15 women to the event to share their stories. This year they decided to be BOLDer and plan to hold events in Sioux Falls and 2 other communities around the state in September. Debbie Pease, BOLD Red Tent Organizer in South Dakota says, "I'm very excited to expand the opportunity for other women to take part in this powerful event!"
