BCC/TOUR DE CURE JERSEYS ON SALE NOW!

Coming up August 22nd is the Tour de Cure Charity Ride to help raise money for the American Diabetes Association.

BCC Club members can sign up for the Tour and receive a jersey for $40! Non-club members can sign up for the Tour, AND join the Boulder Cycling Club AND get a jersey for $50! Since the Tour de Cure is a fund raising event, anyone that raises $750 or more will receive a FREE Team Jersey!

(Please note that there is a $150 minimum fund raising requirement to participate in the Tour, and to receive a jersey.)

Notes from the Prez:

Well, if you want to really appreciate how lucky we are as cyclists, just spend a week in LA as I did which just reinforced how blessed we are to be living in beautiful cycling crazy Boulder!

On that note, we have an new update from our official Sheriff Department Liaison Jim Miers, see below for details.

Coming up here real quick is the Tour de Cure charity ride for the American Diabetes Association is this weekend. The Boulder Cycling Club has a team (and some really cool jerseys) A big shout out to Todd for putting that all together!) Todd needs our help so if anyone is not riding in the Tour de Cure and is available this Saturday they are in desperate need of volunteers. Feel free to contact me and I'll get you pointed in the right direction. The ADA is a great organization and this ride is one of there most successful rides/fund raising events of the year.

The shorter days have forced us to changed our start times on the weekday rides from 6:00 pm to 5:30 pm. We will continue these rides through September.

Remember that next week is the Annual Membership Appreciation Party at Boulder Beer Company starting 7:00 pm and going till 9:00 pm. We will have a ride as usual starting at 5:30 and ending a little earlier then usual so that everyone can enjoy the party. You don't have to ride there to come to the party though, so come on out and joy your friends you've ridden with over the year! The club will provide appetizers and the beer will be on Happy Hour special prices and we will be raffling off a lot of fun free prizes. Elements Massage will be there offering free massages as well. Put it on your calendar now! I look forward to seeing you there and sharing a brew with all of you. Remember to be SAFE and CAREFUL out the roadways!

LAST MARGARITA RIDE...
This is the last week for the Margarita Ride! Steve will be leading and leaving at 5:30 also. He hopes to do the Res, hit the music in Niwot and who knows what else he has up his sleeve. If you haven't made it out for one of these rides here's your last chance of the season! For More info email Steve.

SATURDAY RIDE @BICYCLE VILLAGE
Saturday's ride stays the same; meeting at Bicycle Village at 9:15 am and leaving at 9:30 am. They host the ride year-round except in cases of bad weather, where it moves inside for a free spin class at the YMCA next door. They are having a big Back to School Tent Sale this weekend so take advantage of the last big sale of the year!

MEMBER APPRECIATION PARTY - AUG 25
One Weeks Away! BCC's Summer Member Appreciation Party is coming up on August 25, 2009 at Boulder Beer Company on the back patio from 7 to 9 pm. We will have food, refreshments and free prizes. Extra bonus if you ride your bike to the event (more chances to win prizes) in addition to a pre party ride. Stay tuned for more!

BLUE RIVER TEAM & EVENTS
Marie, the organizer of the Blue River Century is getting together team of people (volunteer/participate) for 2 events on the weekend of Sat. Aug 29th and 30th as Team Blue River Century! There is a fundraiser on Sat., 8/29 for a little girl (one of the 2009 Blue River Century riders' event) who needs a procedure NOT covered by insurance. Click here for more and all the details.
