While Dave is in Vegas this week at the
ICF Conference, I thought I'd take this opportunity to share a few thoughts on Pa Ingalls and handling stressful situations. Really!
"All's well that ends well" was a phrase that
Ma and Pa Ingalls frequently used on their adventurous and dangerous journey west, towards a better life for themselves and their family. Ma and Pa, for those of you who don't remember, are the beloved parents of writer Laura Ingalls Wilder in the
Little House on the Prairie series.

The Charles Ingalls Family |
As I read this collection to my nine and eleven year old daughters, I was frequently amazed at how industrious and downright smart Ma and Pa were throughout their travels. Being smart, I am sure, was a prerequisite for a successful rural pioneering farm life in the late 1800's.
Ma and Pa seemed to always know the obvious, especially in trying situations.
But how do WE know what to do when things go wrong? This is where you might expect me to share my "Top 10 Lessons we learned from Pa Ingalls", however, for those of you who have experienced the coach approach, you know that's not where this is going. Instead, consider these questions, because the answers rest within you.
Take care,
Paula
