I hope you're having a great week.  I'm getting back into a work routine after spending a very busy, thought provoking and inspiring week.  Last week I was a Vendor at the Junior Olympic National Gymnastics Championship held in Newport News Va. 

          I knew I would be busy, or at least hoped I would be, but I wasn't quite prepared for the inspiration and emotions surrounding this amazing event.  There were some 500 of the best gymnast from all over the country.  The place was electric with hope, anticipation and excitement.  

          There were recruiters from every University and college imaginable.  I think the parents were more excited than the girls.  It was wonderful to reacquaint with so many old friends from my years in the Gymnastics world.  I was reminded why I love this sport so much. 

          One amusing moment happened when a Mom was standing at my display looking a little despondent.  "She only took third place in her event." she said as she looked over the glass sculptures as if looking for a consolation gift.  I said, "you do realize that is third in the entire country don't you?" 

          She looked up as if a veil of understanding had lifted.  "You're absolutely right" she said as a smile spread across her face and she ran off into the crowd.  I couldn't help but think, how often do we loose perspective on issues facing us everyday.  It's easy when we get caught up in the moment. 

          It was wonderful to meet so many new friends from across the country but especially gratifying was meeting so many of you who took the time to introduce yourselves as long time readers of my Newsletter.  As my friend Bob Perks calls them "my friends I haven't met"
